How much of that cost is insurance company profit? How much is for insurance company advertising? Or hospital advertising? There is no way your costs wouldn't go down under single payer.

Edit: Not to mention that when employers that DO NOT provide insurance would most likely pay a higher medicare tax your costs drop even more.

Not sure anything I say will convince you, rr, but Sanders certainly does have a chance of winning. Look at how the polls put him ahead of Clinton. And obviously, any dem will win this year since the rep candidates are a mess.

i think that it is one of a few things.

1. the base is sick of the bush family.
2. bush is running as a moderate. a washington insider, who ironically has no washington experience.
3. he is milquetoast. does not really get fired up about much.
4. trump's attacks have sunk in. low energy, etc.
5. the base wants someone like dwayne elisandro herbert mountain dew camacho.

They've somehow allowed themselves to be taken over by clowns. All these pictures of Palin and Trump together and it seems to me most of those who still support these two are attracted by the outlandishness and bravado of their media circus tactics and not really at all by anything grounded in political sensibilities. What is disturbing is the apparent large numbers of people who fall for this nonsense. This is the best a major American political party can produce? Come on!!

What's hilarious is that the GOP is now suggesting that if Trump is the nominee they might push for a third party to run against him. Remember when they were so afraid that he would leave the GOP and run as independent? Now it appears that he might be the guy and that is even worse then if he left.

And while this is going on behind the scenes all the right wingers are saying that the Dems are terrified of Trump winning the nomination.

As a political junkie I love it

I think it sucks. There isn't a candidate worth a damn in the whole race.

I do think the Dems are scared of a Trump nomination...because he is a wildcard and an expert and manipulating the people...who knows what happens if he gets into the general election. They would much rather face a Cruz.

As far as Bernie or Hillary - we will just agree to disagree. Though I will say that I will not vote for Cruz or Trump. So if one of them is the nominee...I will consider a Hillary vote. I don't think I could vote for Bernie though. He is the left's Trump.

He's the anti-everything with the establishment of his own party candidate. And he has big ideas with no real, achievable plan to make them reality. Now, he mostly comes at it from a much better place then Trump does who is only interested in his ego. But neither are good presidential material, of course, we keep lower expectations of that so I could be wrong.
