How many of you have started putting rooms on hold just in case?

I'll sheepishly admit that I booked a room for one of the cities on the schedule.
Probably about to do this too, for the city we'd need accommodations in. I am embarrassed
Yep, we pulled the trigger. Toronto booked! Now we just gotta hope it's actually the same day as the rumors  Not that anything will happen if it's not those dates, since free cancellation and all, but would be nice to have one less thing to worry about.
    Can I ask which hotel?

It's possible that I could line up my 25th show for a PJ25 event. That would be pretty sweet.

Tempted to book an Albany room. If it turns out to be Hartford I can cancel and just drive home afterward.

I went to the Hilton website to check on room rates in Lexington. Looks like all but a few of the hotels are booked. Is there another event that weekend? Rolex 3 day is the next weekend. Could be setup for that. I poked around and didn't see anything else. Is it all of you guys booking rooms?

Most people wait until they have tickets. This is OCDish.
How could an attempt to stay ahead of the game be labeled OCD? Find that assertion silly.
The tour hasn't even been announced. The lottery is not open. Tickets are not on sale. But people are booking rooms. I understand you can cancel, but this is not a standard approach. You don't see why this is OCDish? Really?
Again, most people wait until they have tickets until they make travel plans. I've always waited until I secured tickets and I've always gotten my Plan A hotel room.

Have you always gotten your Plan A price for those hotel rooms? That's why I am considering it.

Prices go up when concerts are announced and the demand increases.

Not questioning your personal travel arrangements. And if you don't see the wisdom in booking early to avoid disappointment at the cheapest price available I'm not going to explain it to you. My original point was doing so has nothing to do with being OCD. It has everything to do with supply v demand.

We pretty much get tickets to the shows we want go to. We are the die hard fans. Nothing wrong with booking a hotel.

  • Remind me plz.... The 10c lottery was open for a week before the drawing right? After the drawing and we find out which shows we did and didn't score, how long until the ticketmaster sale begins? I would think they would not time this so that the ticketmaster sale coincides with the same time people might be traveling for the Latin America tour.... Anybody recall the time frames from the last tours?

A week sounds about right. I remmeber going back and forth and changing some things bases on the approximate %'s they listed.

I know the ticketmaster sale was after the 10 club sale was finished. I don't recall exactly how long after. And I would doubt they would care if the sale coincides with the Latin America tour, since we're talking about different continents.

If I know I'm going to a show why would I not lock up the best hotel option, for the best rate, for free?

This is another reason leaked tour dates are a good thing, it helps out us diehards before the masses move in on the action
  • my2hands said:

If this schedule is accurate Toronto will be amazing, no question

But what is the not so obvious "epic" show?

    Raleigh
I agree. Raleigh will be "the show" if it even takes place.

Dug out my 10 club email from 2014 tour. The email announcement came May 21st stating that you could enter the drawing then until May 28th 10am. Tickets were drawn on May 28th and you were notified that day if you won. Ticketmaster went on sale May 30th.

I wouldn't book a flight but a hotel is so easy to do. I always go directly to the hotel website b/c it's usually the same price anyway. I use AAA and I then look at prices again before I check in b/c most hotels will meet the price if it's gotten cheaper online. If you book on a secondary site they will not lower the rate.
I think I only had to cx one for a NYE Panic show a few years ago...I booked 2 different cities and one was right :-)
I have a pretty good record so I hope it stands!

They can call me whatever they want as I'm in my comfy hotel room near the stadium while they are hiking it all the back to the boonies because they waited. I'll maybe get to see another show or 2 with the money I saved booking early. OCD like a fox, baby!

No, you must be right. I'm sure 99% of people book after reading a rumor.
