That good old European tour that isn't a tour seems to keep popping back up, along with the talk of terrorism being the reason for the cancellation of that tour that never existed.

I keep heading here to hopefully catch a titbit of interest and bogged down in utter horseshit.

Exactly. Come back in a few days when everyone is saying the same exact things.

yeah...guy on facebook says Wrigley July 1-2 is solid.

Which page? I went to one and all I saw was a million EV memes.
I saw another guy claiming 7 shows at wrigley next summer. James Taylor, Billy Joel, 2 PJ shows, GNR, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin. Yes he said Led Zeppelin. Says they will all be announced in march except for the already announced James Taylor obviously.
    LOL

    not confirmed

Yes, can we please stop talking about a tour that never existed being canceled due to Paris? There is not now, nor was there ever, any evidence that a European tour is in the works. There is no evidence that one isn't, but can we please stop the ridiculous speculation surrounding the Paris attacks and cancellation of a tour that does not yet exist?

Just speculatiin but if they didn't feel they could control the security situation as well in Europe as they can in the US, I could understand that. It's a judgement call. Gang bangers have turf they like to control. I don't want to give in to them either, but I may take the family on a different route to play it safe.

I get that, I do. But still - Eddie complimented the Boston reliance after the marathon bombing. He ought to follow and lead by example :)
Dude IF there really was a euro tour in the works and then IF those plans were scrapped, it certainly had NOTHING to do with terrorism! Word is they could be playing wrigley field July 1st & 2nd. If they had the offer on the table and these were the only dates open for them to do it, I could see them choosing to play wrigley instead of the euro tour. They can always play Europe some other time and this is likely the only time they ever play wrigley again.
Wrigley is getting trashed? Didn't know.

And actually that's been my point all along; it would (and should) be highly unlikely for them to cancel the euro leg on account of terrorism / security. If there was a euro leg that got cancelled, it'd be for a good reason.

Still cancelling a whole tour, must be expensive. They'd need some sort of bail out clause, and just maybe terrorism was the way out, but never the reason?

If Europe was completely ruled out why wouldn't they have just said it the other night. I can understand being vague about an upcoming tour but there's no reason to be vague if there is no tour planned.

True. No need to keep up the suspense just to make the disappointed bigger.

What suspense? They said they'll be announcing tour dates at the beginning of the year. You'll find out then whether Europe is a part of that or not. Sheesh.

This will work for now... but, we need to think of it as a base to build off of.

GnR reunion (Axl, Slash & Duff, no Izzy or Steven) is pretty much a done deal, but doubt it'll be at Wrigley.
