Does money influence? Anything troubling about all this foreign money to former SoS?

It's illegal for a foreign national to contribute to a presidential campaign. So I'm not sure how any of these numbers are accurate, without leading to serious fines and jail times. Can you explain?
    Can you prove it's false?
    That's a silly retort.
No its not. Let's see if you can do it.
Can you prove dragons don't exist? MUAHAHAHA

That's the dumbest logic I've heard in a while

Yeah. People liked him because he was a good person and interacted well with the public. So what if celebrities went to his going away party. Charismatic people are well liked. That doesn't equate to messiah.

As a President Trump supporter I don't discount my feelings towards PJ and EV because he attended this function.

I guess you missed all those Trump rallies.

Trumps supporters sure wouldn't cheer for their candidate, or boo their opposition or chant to lock her up or assault protesters. They were better than that.

You lose credibility when you can only see one sides faults.

Shouldn't this thread be titled Hillary "earned more votes" or "got more votes" for president? You don't "win" votes. You win states and elections...which Hillary didn't.

They are politicians. No need for parties. Get in there and govern. Then get out. I don't care that Beyoncé or Kelly Clarkson were at Obama's inauguration. I don't care that no celebrities want to show up for Trump. It isn't necessary. If the people have the power then Obama should be hosting parties for the people and not rich celebrities and business people.

Mainly, this Messiah treatment of Obama by celebrities stopped them from speaking up and holding them accountable. I don't think I ever heard Vedder speak up about Obama's drone strike program. Ever.

    I also found that inconsistent.

no need for parties? why not? when someone at my work retires/leaves the company, we all get together and have a part or go out for drinks. this is no different. you obviously know that Obama is not at the point right now where he is going to be getting anything significant done, except for the transition to Trump.

I have zero issue with any president of either party holding a celebration before they leave. celebrities or lobbyists, doesn't matter to me. they invite those that have publicly or financially supported them during their tenure. that's normal.

If you criticized Obama especially early in his first term, you risked being labeled or thought of as racist, so you either sit quietly or shower praise.
If shortly after the election of 2008 you criticized voters as being dumb, stupid, duped, unintelligent, lacked critical thinking, black lash etc it would be assumed you were talking about the black vote and undoubtedly been labeled a racist.

I guess I could care less about the going away parties with celebrities.

You make a good point about the drone strikes. I don't know that I've heard barely anyone object to it, but I think that has a lot to do with the character and integrity Obama has built around himself as a leader. People are more likely to trust that he's thinking these decisions through and weighing out what is the best course of action. These aren't off the cuff decisions or the "whim of a mad man". What will be interesting to monitor, is the public response Trump gets when these strikes are executed under his command. Someone who seems less interested in facts and considering the impact of any decision.

Anyway, the article below looks at Obama's weak defense of the program.

The claim that if you criticized Obama you'd be labelled racist is an over-blown load of garbage. He got plenty of criticism with anyone throwing out accusations of racism. Racism was brought up when warranted.l, and also in reaction to conservatives over-reaction and fear response about how he was going to destroy our country and there was going to be some Socialist take over. People rightly theorized that this over-reaction had a lot to do with him being black. And right wing campaign slogans "take our country back" and "make America great again"? Hmmm.......I wonder what's just under the surface with those?

It really depends on how you supported your argument if there was an objection. I don't think any well thought out and fact based disagreement or questioning would be labeled racist, but when you just speculate, estimate or assume, then yeah, it's a good possibility someone might get called out on what the underlying reasons are.

as the Beav said, that's totally inaccurate. people got labelled racist for posting cartoons as Obama as a piece of shit, or as a monkey, or whathaveyou. They didn't get labelled, by and large, a racist for disagreeing with policy. if they did, those accusing that are no different than those labelling all Trump voters as hillbillies.
