How a criminal indictment could affect Hillary Clinton's run for U.S. presidency

Biden and Kerry don't scare me. I'd be good with both of them. That's what's great about the D's these days. There is a very strong bench. The R's... not so much.

They don't scare me. But the prospect of one of the nuts in the Republican party getting elected because of this does.

The investigation will be wrapped up well before the convention. So if the delegates need to change, there will the opportunity there.

Further evidence (not that it's needed) that Hillary is trying to buy this election: For $350,000 you can sit next to George Clooney at one of Hillary's fund raising event. Are millionaires and billionaires going to buy this election? Obviously that what Hillary wants. Is this what you want? Not me!

I'm not sure what you mean. Those Hollywood stars have one vote just like you and me. Further, mine is more important since I'm in VA.

It's yet another example of Hillary raising millions from the wealthy and super wealthy. She trying to buy the presidency. Bernie gets most of his funding from people like you and me (well, I don't know about you, haha, but me, yes) who send what they can to help his campaign- a campaign by the people for the people, you might say. A lot of people are tired of the country being run by the super rich who, for the most part, are only in it for their own gain with no concern for the future well being of the planet or the current and future well being of the people.

The following night, George Clooney is hosting another fundraiser with a $30,000 price tag. I'll find the link.

George is a great actor but, stupid as this may sound, it will taint my view of his work. I don't see how anyone can sell out to a (delete, delete, delete) like Hillary.

Another thing that I don't believe has been addressed here is Hillary's ties to private prisons. Dr. Cornell West has spoken out on that. I'll have to see if I can find a link.

Here are the damn .org groups starting shit again. http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=376
But the capitalist crisis over the last 25 years, with its shrinking profit rates, inspired the corporate elite to revive economic liberalism. That's what makes it "neo" or new. Now, with the rapid globalization of the capitalist economy, we are seeing neo-liberalism on a global scale.

Pretty serious story on Hillary purchasing the loyalty of state democratic parties with a heavy focus on Montana

    http://www.counterpunch.org/2016/04/01/how-hillary-clinton-bought-the-loyalty-of-33-state-democratic-parties/

Maybe someone should get Jon Tester's opinion. I can't imagine Jeff would be happy about this.

I hope some day we can thank Hillary for (inadvertently) motivating us to get big money out of politics.

Was just reading about how the pledge of allegiance originally did not contain the words "under God". Now if we could go with something like this instead:

^^^ is meant to say that you are responding to the above post
    Mr. Lux
It is easier on the eyes if you just use ^^^ when you respond to a post instead of quote. The quoting feature is nice but it gets out of hand sometimes.
^^^ cuts the chatter and describes exactly what one is responding to.

even just one ^ would mean the same

You are missing a very important role of the person at the top of the ticket. They have a responsibility to raise money for the down ballot races for the coffers of the Senate and House seats which do not get nearly the individual contributions that the big candidates earn.

The Ticket head is expected to raise money and contribute to the DNC, to be distributed during the season in tight races, critical seats, etc. I haven't seen numbers for 2016, but in 15, Hillary donated $13 million for this effort. Bernie donated ZERO! Even though he promised to do so at the start of the run.

So when you're scratching your heads wondering why the elected officials are more supportive of Hillary, perhaps it's because she has helped them for 25 years and continues to do so.

It is outrageous. In fact we should all cease to support artists, celebrities, etc. that are tied to this corrupt practice. NO more movies, no more records, concerts, appearance, etc. Are you guys with me?? Let's get these assholes out of politics!

Democrats with $20,000 to spare are invited to get up close and personal with President Barack Obama when he comes to Tampa today.

The Hillsborough County Democratic Party announced that the evening reception with the president is at the Tampa home of Lisa DeBartolo and husband Donn Miggs, with a special performance by Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam. The exact address will be given out when guests RSVP.

DeBartolo is the executive vice president of DeBartolo Holdings LLC and the daughter of Edward DeBartolo Jr., the former owner of the San Francisco 49ers.

The fundraiser isn’t cheap. According to the Hillsborough County Democratic Party, tickets are $20,000. This is expected be Obama’s last major fundraiser before the end of this financial reporting cycle so organizers are hoping for a big turnout.

    oops. Selective quoting alert!

HILLARY CLINTON: When people make these kinds of claims, which now I think have been debunked --Actually the Washington Post said "Three Pinocchios"-- and the New York Times analyzed it. Independent analysts have said that they are misrepresenting my record.

I'm just not going to --

I feel sorry sometimes for the young people who believe this, they don't do their own research. I'm glad we can now point to reliable, independent analysis to say: No. It is just not true.

    http://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2016/04/04/fact-checkers-miss-point-greenpeace-research-clinton-fossil-fuel-money
In response to Clinton’s comments and fact checkers who have questioned Greenpeace research, Greenpeace Democracy Campaign Director Molly Dorozenski said:

“Greenpeace stands by its research. The $300,000 Clinton has received from oil and gas employees is perhaps the smallest piece in a huge puzzle of political influence on Secretary Clinton from the fossil fuel industry. The more important number is the amount of money that lobbyists from the oil and gas industry contribute to the Clinton campaign. That continues to be the leading indicator of influence from the fossil fuel industry.

“Secretary Clinton has taken more than $1.4 million in direct and bundled contributions from 58 lobbyists connected to the fossil fuel industry. That is where the influence peddling happens, and that is what needs to be addressed immediately. The Clinton campaign has already rejected money from top executives and lobbyists for the private prison industry — it should be an easy decision to acknowledge the same influence and reject the agenda fossil fuel lobbyists are selling. We want Clinton, and all of the Republican presidential candidates for that matter, to reject money from top executives at these companies and any lobbyists or bundlers that push their dirty fossil fuel agenda. In fact, Greenpeace believes that presidential candidates should take it a step further and reject money from all registered lobbyists.”

The 58 lobbyists who have contributed to Clinton’s campaign are listed on Greenpeace’s site here: http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/campaign-updates/fossil-fuel-lobbyists-contributions-to-the-clinton-campaign/

On rejecting lobbyist donations for his campaign and the DNC in 2008, Obama stated, “We will not take a dime from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs. We’re going to change how Washington works. They will not fund my party. They will not run our White House. And they will not drown out the voice of the American people when I’m president of the United States of America.”

Not only is Clinton getting upset, but she's alienating an entire group of voters. If she she wants to win, maybe she should think before speaking. I wonder what her feet taste like.
