It's crazy how close the polls are. I mean anyone going up against trump should be destroying him by now. You wouldn't even need to do anything- he would destroy himself, yet he's only gaining on her. It blows my mind.

How does someone like this even have a chance?

One guess is that a lot of people put party/politicians before country.

well yeah....why on earth would anyone in the lower class vote for Trump? Yet he leads the uneducated white vote against Clinton.

That opinion isn't taken very well around these parts. But that could very well be true.
The whole "voting for the lesser of two evils" is real for many Americans.

    Guess who's who:
    59% unfavorable
    60% unfavorable

    For Scale-
    GWB 60% Unfavorable

Who?? Who are the HRC people, and what have they done to show that they can't come to grips with the current situation?

Other than a few people on line (including this place), I don't know anyone who strongly supports either candidate. I personally know two women who will vote for HRC because they are frightened by the idea of Trump winning and I know one man who will vote for Trump because he like to stir the shit but other than that, I know of no one who is a fan of either candidate. Yes, sadly it's a race to the bottom.

The GOP actually did something that worked. Pretty amazing. Too bad they didn't put the same effort into coming up with a viable candidate.

I feel that if the GOP had nominated a parking cone, that they would be in the lead right now.

Hillary Clinton told investigators that she wasn't aware that a "C" marking in emails she received on her private server indicated that the information was classified at the "confidential" level, according to documents that the FBI released on Friday.

  • I'm supporting Hillary Clinton because her policy positions as stated are more in alignment with what I believe is good for the country. You can find them on her website for president. Do I believe they'll all be enacted or she'll be successful in implementing them? No, you win some, you lose some, you compromise some. Overall, I think she'll be better for the country than the alternative.

As for answering to the press, if the press were of a bygone era where facts were reported and accurate portrayals of statements were made rather than taking what candidates say out of context or actually misrepresenting their words to be spread all over talk radio, super pac ads, blogosphere, etc, in an effort to destroy the candidate rather than debate differences in policy, I'd have an issue with it. But in this era and time it's a wise campaign strategy given the opposition and their tactics (see below). So, non issue for me. Bush I started this trend with Willie Horton and continued when his campaign made the race about "character" rather than policy differences. It's only gotten worse since.

As for the DNC and DWS, the RNC and the DNC are organizations who's primary responsibility is to get their party member elected to office and to support those candidates who have the best shot at it. Bernie wasn't a democrat until just recently and immediately switched back upon failure to convince enough primary voters he was the best candidate. He may now know how Hillary felt in 2008 but he shouldn't expect any loyalty or feality from the DNC as he hasn't been nor shown any loyalty. Politics is rough and tumble and not for the meek. Get involved in local politics like a school committee or town council and you'll see what I'm getting at. Why should it be any different at the national level? DWS was rewarded for her loyalty and her work on behalf of the party. Happens all the time on both sides. Non-issue for me.

Email, FBI released its report notes. Does anyone here really believe that those that raise huge sums of money or give huge sums of money to a campaign or super PAC don't enjoy some level of special access? What do you think gets discussed at those $100K a plate dinners and to whose benefit? You want that shit to stop? Overturn Citizens United. Thus far there is nothing to suggest that Hillary granted any special favors because of donations to the CF. Access? Maybe. Hear someone's plea? Maybe. But that doesn't mean there's a quid pro quo. And I'd argue that all sides do it whereas the big donors have access to those in power. It's what wealth and privilege can buy you if you so desire. Again, non issue for me.

The Clinton's have released their tax returns and their net worth is somewhere between $12-$20MM not the 100's of millions the alt right likes to squawk about. They paid a pretty hefty tax rate and donated approximately 10% to charity, even if it was the CF. so what? The right is the party of pull yourself up by the bootstraps and here you have two middle class Arkansas podunks who have elevated their standing through intelligence, hard work, perserverence and wit and charm. It's not easy to gain such prominence from such humble beginnings. They should be applauded rather than derided. Anyone remember GHWBush's $1MM for a speech in 1993? Probably not. But when wealth and privlege does it, it's somehow respectable. A couple of liberal podunks from Arkansas do it and it's an outrage.

How a democratically elected senate in a country with democratic elections, Brazil, that impeached it's president over the state of its economy can be insinuated as a Hillary inspired or approved quasi coup is beyond me. All of the investigations and not one criminal charge except for Bill's impeachment and failure to be removed from office. Women and minorities are a direct threat to the 300 years of white male dominated power structure in this country as the vociferousness of the alt rights opposition to Obama and Hillary can attest. I'm not afraid of a President Hillary despite her flaws.

Now, what specific questions would you like Hillary to answer before the press corps or in a press conference? Directed to Free and tonifig8.

See below for some history. Again, not one criminal charge levied against Hillary despite multiple investigations and $80 MM in taxpayer dollars wasted.
