You need a smartphone and computer to donate? Clearly you could sell at least one to help end extreme poverty.patrickwieczore said:
I don't get your logic here? The internet allows me to be aware of such causes, while my smart phone & computer allows me to donate to these causes.on2legs said:
Sure. As soon as you turnoff your internet connection and donate the money to help end extreme poverty and sell your smartphone or computer as well to aid the cause.patrickwieczore said:Here's a thought, instead of worrying about the Merch you didn't get in NYC, how about using that money to help end extreme poverty?

Here's a thought... how much $ was spent on the festival itself? How much did taxpayers have to pay so this could happen? Any guesses on how much energy was used for the Beyonce stage show? Probably enough to light a 3rd world nation for a weekpatrickwieczore said:Here's a thought, instead of worrying about the Merch you didn't get in NYC, how about using that money to help end extreme poverty?
I'm all for great causes, but i'm not buying the hype that music festivals save the world... and for the record, tweeting and "actions" don't make you an activist... when ed said he never played to a crowd full of activists, I literally laughed out loud and said to myself you still haven't
I did not read one single thing I tweeted, signed, or emailed... neither did anyone else0 -
The internet is why you know there is extreme poverty in the world? The human race is completely fucked lol0

what ever happened to your "source"?
he/she was way off with the PJ set time.
Nothing happened to my source. The times i posted were from an official schedule that was obtained early in the week. The times ended up off because they added Common, Sting, the Indian lady, the African rap group and Tori Kelly.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

at the risk of sounding bougie
i went to the volcom shop at noon on saturday. the wait was 2.5 hours. i promptly opened my ebay app, found my precious precious merch for sale, and sent the flippin flipper a message asking for 20% off his insane starting bids; he agreed. made me feel like i had 'won' by only paying twice retail instead of three times retail. would've done even better to wait a week until the price frenzy cooled down.
so, in my mind, i pay a substantial mark-up for the convenience of not having to wait 2.5 hours in line and the risk of not getting the merch i wanted. oh, that does sound bougie.
my point is, flippers serve different purposes for different people. resellers are essential.
i am a huge white stripes fan and the same issues exist with Third Man Vault merch.0 -

I'm thinking you could probably compare that to the donations related to the festival and find out that they exceeded the cost of the event, because I'm pretty sure a lot of those filthy rich people who got up on stage threw plenty of money at the cause.my2hands said:

Not sure if you're trying to give me a hard time or implying that I made the information up. But none of those people I mentioned were promoted as being part of the show until the day of. My source was in charge of a major portion of the event. The information I posted was accurate as of the time I posted it.lolobugg said:

So.... Bottom line... I didn't make anything up or troll anyone. So this thread inspired me to browse through the Pearl Jam Posters category on ebay.
I've just seen the Wrigley Crackerjack listed for over $1100 USD.
Suddenly $125 for five hours doesn't sound like such a bad deal.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

I'd be surprised if that listing sold though. If it does, the buyer is an a-hole.ldent42 said:So this thread inspired me to browse through the Pearl Jam Posters category on ebay.
