The Donald for President

Well it's nonsensical. It's comparing apples to oranges.Gern Blansten said:
and that's a reasonable response....but for a GOP Presidential Candidate to say "yeah well there's no white guys nominated on BET awards" or for him to agree with that statement....differentHughFreakingDillon said:
I agree. I actually agree with Whoopi Goldberg on this one. She said it's not the academy's fault for there being a small pool to draw from; it's the casting people, directors, producers; she said not to boycott the Oscar's, WHO HAS A BLACK HOST THIS YEAR, boycott the movies that don't cast black actors if you have an issue with it.PJ_Soul said:
He would have a point if the Oscars were actually the "White Entertainment Awards". But they're not, lol.Enkidu said:

This is a really stupid issue though. People are apparently calling for affirmative action at the Oscars. So ridiculous. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Trump is right though. There are no whites nominated on BET. It's a true statement.
And quite a statement at that.
What if WET was a program would Trump be able to say "there are no blacks nominated on WET"?
It would be a true statement.

How is it "quite a statement"? It's a pointless statement. It's like someone complaining about how it's unfair that there is a Women's Centre on a university campus but not a Men's Centre. It ignores the fact that such things exist because the group in question is marginalized or otherwise disadvantaged and therefore requires resources to aid in raising said group to equality. The argument Trump is attempting to put forth here only holds water for idiots and simpletons.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:Trump is right though. There are no whites nominated on BET. I don't think it's weak to react to glaring double standards when it comes to male vs female politicians. I am a feminist.rr165892 said:PJ,really???

As for the rest of what you just said.... no, I have never been heavy handed against men in my past posts. I have NEVER placed double-standards against men (people of faith or those who don't agree with my politics has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation or the point I guess you're trying to make, though I'm not sure, as you're barely making sense). With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. My point is.You have been in many discussions on these boards for years.I know because we have been in the same discussions many, many times together.
You have always voiced a strong opinion.Sometimes agree with you ,sometimes I think your whacked. But in the past I never remember you being so sensitive about minor goofing around issues.Espescially ones as Benine as what me and Gern were talking about earlier. But yet at the same time you can take such a firm stance on religion(and some of your opinions in the Canada Politics thread). So what I'm trying to say is it's totally cool to take such tough stances on important and hot button issues, but don't go all "JustAGrl" and get butt hurt when we are joking.Whats good for one is good for all.Nobody is belittling women.Palin is a punchline to her own joke.Shes not a great politician(fact) and she's also not bad looking(sorta). What harm is commenting on either.Go find an old Palin thread and you will see 20x worse on every thread. As she was the whipping chick for every super liberal on these boards. And I'm the one you draw the line in the sand with?
That's why I question wether your being a little hypocritical.0 -

She usually annoys me with her constant defense of celebs behaving badly like Gibson and Cosby but she nailed it on this one.HughFreakingDillon said:

I think boycotting the Oscars could be considered part of boycotting the status quo practice of Hollywood.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

I certainly didn't mean to insult anyone. I didn't really think our posts were that offensive but if someone took offense then I apologize.

AND no matter what racist, shortsighted, reactionary, polarizing shizzy comes out of his mouth...he polls well. I think he completely deserves the endorsement of Palin. They're perfectly suited for each other and it wouldn't surprise me, if nominated by the Repubs, he were to choose her as his running mate.Post edited by ikiT onBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -
AND from her "endorsement"
“And you quit footing the bill for these nations who are oil-rich, we’re paying for some of their squirmishes that have been going on for centuries. Where they’re fighting each other and yelling ‘Allahu akbar,’ calling jihad on each other’s heads forever and ever. Like I’ve said before, let them duke it out and let Allah sort it out.”
effing WOW. Squrimishes...Bristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -
