Thanks schapp - this won't let me change the country from Mexico for my billing address when I got to purchase them. Anyone have any idea how to get around that?

Never mind...needed to change to International on the delivery method screen. General A tickets bought! Flight and hotel all booked! Looking forward to this trip.

I booked an excursion to the pyramids in the morning, and want to visit the Coyoacan area in the afternoon. There's the Frida Kahlo museum, as well as the houses of Trotsky and Cortez the Killer (which is actually Cortes, not Cortez, uncle Neil!)

My girlfriend and I are also booked at hotel Raizor. Arrivig Saturday morning around 1am.
Flying home Monday. Looking at doing one of the walking tours of Mexico City for Sunday.
This show is going to be incredible!!!

My wife and I also just booked Riazor arriving late Friday night from Ft. Lauderdale and leaving at 5am Sunday morning! lol. The Free Airport shuttle on the hour needing to go back to the airport at 3am after the show seemed very helpful! Very excited! We haven't seen the band since Canada 2011. We hadn't missed a tour in 20 years, and usually hit 3-6 shows per tour but have a young daughter now. This trip with a quick in and out made it possible!

I just checked using google maps. It is a 2.2 km walk to the venue from Hotel Riazor. Less than a half hour on foot :-)

We're staying there Saturday night as well but based on some earlier comments in this thread and the Facebook group for the show I get the impression that isn't the best walk to do, especially at night. I imagine we could size it up and determine that ourselves and there will likely be a big group of us but we should maybe look into a shuttle that could take a bunch of us?

I'm just looking at this area and there is the Hotel Grand Prix right next to the Stadium. I'm thinking it could be a good meeting point after the show. Safe, out of the street crowd, and access to transportation. Maybe even for a group dinner before entering the stadium. :-)

planning on buying some pesos here before i go. Will carry some USD as well.

Question I have is what notes are the best to have? seems like a 200 peso note would be like a $10 bill? what's common to carry?

$300USD is ~ 5000 Pesos.To me 5000 would be a fairly fat roll of cash to carry around?

I've been warned as well that walking from Foro Sol to the Riazor isn't a good idea. Safety in numbers maybe?

may walk there in the day light... after the show from GA im sure i'll be spent. Couple of drinks somewhere safe and close, let the crowds / traffic thin out and then cab it back.

My wife and I are in for a shuttle or a group walk back to Riazor...We acan take our time. I have a 5am flight back to Ft. Lauderdale so I am not going to sleep anyway. Probably have to go to the airport at 3am.

I'm in for the shuttle or a walk back to the Riazor afterwards as well. Meeting at the Grand Prix afterwards sound like a good idea. I'll be getting in on the Thursday and staying until the Monday. Gonna check out some sights Friday and Sunday.

Will call will be open the day of the show. I checked with the 10C.

Well, I was just told by a local that the area around hotel Riazor is not that nice and if I can change hotels, I should.
He also warned against taking taxis by flagging them down on the street.

I heard the same about the area and to avoid "unofficial" taxis.

For the area.. the hotel is a just a close place to the airport and venue. Easy distance to all i want to do and see, Has great reviews as far as accommodations...could really care less about the immediate neighbourhood. didn't make sense to drop triple the money at a tourist hotel!

although transit / subway is close to the Raizor... i'm going to pass and simply cab it down to the Zocalo area for a walking tour on Sunday!
