I booked the hotel Hotel Riazor about 25-30 minute walk from venue. Safety thoughts walking back after show?
I stayed at the Riazor for Springsteen show couple years ago...great hotel...very nice people, very helpful. I wouldn't walk to the to the show though....we were close but took a taxi (there were 4 of us)...the surrounding area is a bit sketchy for walking. At least that's what hotel told us. It was fine getting a cab cause it was only about 10 min ride...I was scared shitless being a passenger in car..the rules of road don't apply there it seemed.

THere was lots of Policia around where we were queing...after the show the vendors were basically attacking us to buy stuff...I would imagine same after PJ.

yep same place English version (sports palace) its across the road from foro sol. I think the will call office for foro sol is at the sports palace.Good to know. I'll be buying my merch inside foro sol for sure.

Anyone interested in making their way to the venue to get tickets from Will Call on Thursday? We could arrange to meet up and take a cab or Uber there together. We're staying in the Condesa area until the day of the show when we are at the Raizor.

We arrive Thursday and plan on a pyramid tour on Friday. Leaning towards private car since the wife travels there for work so she has some preferred drivers. Friday night in garibaldi area is supposed to be full of mariachis and entertainment. Uber is out there so you might want to consider that. Planning on going to Xochimilco and coyoacan on Sunday l.
Having traveled in Mexico City several times for work, my advice is to get pesos once you arrive or before you depart your home airport.
US Dollars are somewhat acceptable by street vendors (they'll take them begrudgingly sometimes to close a deal) but for the most part vendors will expect pesos unless they have credit card capabilities. If you plan on buying merch, beers and snacks I would recommend having enough in pesos just in case there's credit card issues or no cards accepted.
Looking at the Ticketmaster site for list of ticket pick-up locations, it seems it's saying that the Sports Palace doesn't do Will Call (though I may be misunderstanding): http://tmespeciales.ticketmaster.com.mx/h/stateselecttcenters.html?tm_link=tm_ql_2 (select "Distrito Federal - Oriente" from the menu on left hand side, Palacio de los Deportes is at the top of the list that comes up)
Looking around trying to find some info about picking up tickets for Foro Sol, there seem to be some sites that indicate that the Will Call is at Gate 5 of the Sports City (Ciudad Deportiva) which appears to be next to the Ciudad Deportiva metro station: Google Maps Link
I could be way off, just been digging around online for some info. Is there anybody local who knows that may be able to confirm? I'm going to struggle to get to a pick-up location before the day of the show so would be great to know if this is where to go before showtime to pick up my ticket. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hey. the sports palace is not the place to get the will call tickets, the Ghandi Bookstore CAN give you the will call tickets, it says its in the Terminal 2 at the airport or any other store listed, I always go to Liverpool Store to get my will call. you´ll need the credit card and the conf number to get them.

Yes, sometimes they are not the most helpful. At least until a couple of years ago, there was no will call at Foro Sol, but they opened the booths at the Sports Palace for that purpose. It is just across the street.
I would recommend trying Gandhi at airport's Terminal 2. If that doesn't fly, then head out to the Sports Palace.

I saw this option too on the Ticketmaster Mexico website, but I did a little more digging and it may be inside a secure area. So if you're not arriving inside that secure area in that terminal, it may not be possible. I'm not familiar enough with the airport in MC to know whether I will be able to access this pick up location. At any rate, there are a number of these Ghandhi book stores around the city where they also do "will call" delivery, including one a few blocks from my hotel. That is where I'm going to try to pick up.
