Nine shows. Not bad. They almost always add a few more. Great to know they'll be back out on the road. Can play anything they want since LB will be two years old by then. Should be a really nice run for the SA fans. Boots will kick ass. Enjoy!!!

Well, this is disappointing. I have no desire to visit SA, so looks like no 2015 show for me. :disappointed:

They'll probably announce more stuff at another time. At least a couple of one-offs..... Or maybe an EV solo tour or something. :)
But if they plan on announcing more stuff, why the build up for only SA shows?
Because the fans in South America (edit: LATIN America, sorry) are fucking insane for Pearl Jam. The build up was for them, which is fair! Many excited Latin Americans (and one Greek) today! ;)

I'm surprised to see how little Americans care about South Americans, lol.

Obviously the band loves playing there. Selling out stadiums when not all north american arena shows don't. The crowds are insane. Etc.

Cheers to everyone who spent days making stuff up about U.S. dates. :)

Lol. I still can't wrap my head around why anyone would've thought anything other than a Central/South American tour... when the newsletter pre-announcement had a picture of a concert crowd chock full of latin americans.

The only other date I've heard rumored is that NYC festival for September.

Well they played Vancouver and Calgary but completely skipped Toronto/Montreal. They'res a significant part of the Canadian population that believes Toronto is the centre of the universe :) I suppose that's why detroit was so high in demand last year. No Canadian shows east of calgary for the Lightning Bolt tour.

I'd be surprised if they don't play a single show in the US in 2015.... PJ usually has more than one thing to announce in a calendar year.

Matt is set to record with Soundgarden and just finished touring with them. PJ toured the U.S. hard in 2013-14 at their age and did a nice Europe run. Everyone knows the most they'll do in the U.S. this year is a few shows. They'll rock stadiums in SA, then roll out a U.S. tour in 2016 to time in with their 25th-year anniversary and the HoF. No proof of the latter but it clearly makes sense and falls in line with how they've handled touring the last 10-plus years and celebrated PJ20. I'd rather them play SA this year, have fun, kick out the jams, then scorch the U.S. in their 25th year as a band.

i find it hard to call a one day event with short sets a festival. Plus there will be way too many people there. If they do play Global Citizens I hope they add surrounding dates as well.

Exactly. We are all on this little planet together and should feel happy for the Latin American fans. I'm grateful that the band is reaching out to them and giving them an experience they seldom get - an experience that they so graciously give us every year. Absolutely nothing wrong with letting others play in the sandbox!

Yeah kinda. I think it's really us crazy fans who built this one up though. All they did was say there would be an announcement Friday at 10, which there was. A few SA shows. There you go. Now book your trips and buy your tickets so they can announce another tour closer to where you live in a month. :)
