We’re just days away from the 2015 Global Citizen Festival - In 48 hours we’ll be rocking out with Pearl Jam, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, and Coldplay!
Before that happens though, there’s some really important stuff that you have to know.
This email is long but make sure you read all of it - we want you to have the best time possible!
1) FIRST OFF, GATES OPEN AT 2PM and entertainment starts at 3 with Hugh Jackman, Stephen Colbert and Coldplay opening the show - remember to bring your printed ticket.
2) Trust us, you’ll really want to get there early. If there’s one thing we hear from attendees every year, it’s that they wished they got there sooner. There’s also going to be increased security this year because of the foreign leaders who'll be in attendance. If you wait till 3 to show up, you’re going to get stuck waiting in line for a while.
3) To sweeten the deal, if you get on the lawn by 2:30pm you’ll have a chance to win some AWESOME prizes! Global Citizen staff will be scattered through the crowd right when the doors open giving out VIP upgrades, meet and greets with some of our artists, and a ton of Global Citizen Festival swag. The earlier you get there, the better your chance is to win!
4) Remember to check the list of allowed and prohibited items (below and printed on your ticket). There are a bunch of things that you might not think about (i.e. no backpacks are allowed into the park) so be sure to read it all the way through.
5) Your ticket will specify either east or west gate. The General Admission entrance to the park is East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue, or West 72nd Street and Central Park West. For General Admission ticket holders, please look at the bottom left corner of your ticket for your assigned gate entrance.
6) The ADA-Accessible Entrance is at East 84th and Fifth Avenue.
7) And to remember the show forever and get all of this year’s swag, you can purchase the Global Citizen Merch from http://store.globalcitizen.org.
The feeling right now at Global Citizen HQ is electric. Saturday’s gonna be an awesome day, so take the time now to prepare.
Can’t wait to see you in the Park,
Tom & the Global Citizen Team

VP Biden and First Lady Obama at GCF. Get ready for a security headache.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0

Oy, that should slow things down. Hopefully not by too much, though. In years' past its just been regular security, they'll probably have to add metal detectors now. But once passed crazy security, gotta say I'll definitely be excited to see them speak!Lost In Ohio said:VP Biden and First Lady Obama at GCF. Get ready for a security headache.

Heads up kids, subway changes in effect
http://gothamist.com/2015/09/24/subway_change_why_god.php
This is important for anyone using the East Gate entrance!
Brooklyn bound 6 trains will NOT be stopping at 68th st NOR 77th st.
What this means for you:
If you are coming from NORTH of the entrance you have to get off at 86th & walk.
If you are coming from SOUTH of the entrance you are ok GOING to the park, but AFTER the show you'll have to walk to 86th.

From today's Daily News: "The festival will be headlined by Beyoncé, and will feature performances by Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay."
I'm guessing that since most newspapers fired their factchecking desks in the early aughts this is BS.I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
The first year Neil young was the headliner. I look forward to all the kids leaving after Beyonce so I can get closer for Pearl Jam.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

I want all of you to enjoy yourselves. Drink in the experience. Focus on the positive. Band together. Remember why this is actually happening.
Going to be watching this live stream. So happy for all who are going!2014: Cincinnati

So.... honestly.... we still do not know 100% that pj is playing last.... correct?
Seriously, what kind of event provides zero schedule? lol0 -
On2legs had a schedule. (If I remember the username right.) Reliable source. That one isn't one you would like to utilize? All of the press except from whatever the Daily News is states (and even this website) that they are headlining. Even announced on Colbert last night.2014: Cincinnati

Colbert said PJ were the "headliners"0
-
I'm not sure if that'll be possible. The rumor is that the GA section will be divided into "pens." The earlier you get there, the closer you'll be. Once a pen fills up, they go to the next one. If/when a pen gets half-empty, it will not be re-filled.ldent42 said:The first year Neil young was the headliner. For whatever it's worth, Beyonce and PJ are both headlining. On Colbert's show the other day, he introduced PJ as the concert's headliner.dankind said:From today's Daily News: "The festival will be headlined by Beyoncé, and will feature performances by Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay."

Mainstream media put Beyonce as the headliner whereas 'rock' sites name Pearl Jam.estarr31 said:

I would go with Global Citizen's poster, which has PJ listed first, and that has been the headliner in the past.0
