Pearl Jam is arguably the least recognizable name of those 4. I wouldn't be surprised to see them playing first. I guess it depends how they want to break it up. Beyonce will definitely headline. And they probably will split up Coldplay and PJ.

I'm really hoping for MSG as well, but not getting my hopes up.

The thing Is on this board we will always struggle for objectivity. PJ are the only headliner in my mind, but I bet you ask the majority of the music fans in the world and they will 99% of the time suggest Beyoncé. She aint my cup of tea, but she is no doubt a global megastar.

Ed Sheeran to the poster above asking.......if you don't know, you don't need to know. trust me. drivel. But very very popular drivel, because its bland, has mass media exposure, and is your typical watered down radio offering that the world seems to adore.

Exactly, in my mind PJ is always #1. But in reality, its not the case. The music world at the moment belongs to Taylor Swift, then you have all of the other stars in between.

For example, my friend who i suggested Global Citizen fest said "OMG Beyonce, OMG Ed Sheeran, OMG Coldplay.... and yeah pearl jam thats cool"

Warm up for MSG the following two nights on Sunday & Monday night.

No reason (at least in my mind) they would have a "special announcement" for a festival they won't even headline and play a total of 10 songs tops. IF they were to play a couple shows at MSG without any kind of tour to support it - wouldn't you think they would want at least a warmup show before blowing the roof off the place? Global Citizen sounds like it would be just that, and not too taxing on the band only playing a max of 10 songs.

MSG is completely open until October 1st after after Global Citizen.

    Just saying.

The Rangers have preseason games on 9/28 and 9/30. The weekend schedule was cleared though as Billy Joel's 9/26 show was rescheduled.
The Billy Joel show was moved from Friday, September 25
to Saturday, September 26th for the Papal visit to NYC...
the Pope has MSG booked for Friday now:

I didn't see the NY Rangers games listed on the MSG website,
but you are right, they are scheduled for pre-season games those day!!
Not looking too good for a MSG show :anguished:

Kelly Curtis is heavily involved in Global Citizen from what I understand. Pearl Jam will be third or fourth act if I had to guess. If they are third it's better because we can leave earlier.

They are only probably playing 10-12 songs wherever they are anyway.

These MSG dreams and rumors being started by people on this board with nothing behind them are getting comical

I'm actually pretty pumped for the line-up, I'm a fan of all the acts minus Ed Sheeran. And this line-up has me thinking he'll get the shit end of the stick, so that would be cool.

I really do wonder how they'll configure this line-up with so many big acts. Guessing it'll be Sheeran-Coldplay-PJ-Beyonce to close. It would be a nice surprise if they put PJ as a headliner, and since Global Citizen is partly Kelly Curtis' brainchild, maybe it isn't too out of the question.

But hey-free concert, for a good cause, my favorite band and a bunch of other artists I enjoy, and a show where I usually get a huge group of friends together and have a great time. I'm in! PJ is always a great excuse to visit home, too, ya know!

After spending the last few days accumulating points, looking at train schedules, worrying about lineups, etc...turns out I have a wedding to attend that day anyway.

    Sigh...
