Funniest moment of the night: them playing Smile for the little girl, and Ed dropping the f-bomb in it, then immediately looked embarassed and apologizing to the girl. Very cute

I actually agree with this. We otherwise have nothing to complain about, but there were some points during the show where I asked myself "They DO remember that they played here last night, right?" I feel stupid lodging a complaint about a show with Leash, Indifference, SOLAT, Parachutes, and Smile, but I definitely noticed all the repeats. Overall it was still a tremendous show.

The first Boston show was good, but last night was fucking epic! Both nights the crowd was huge and really into it (maybe a little more the first night) but the setlist last night (not even including Leash, although that was the nail in the coffin), and the band, were so motherfucking on! This was easily the best show I've ever been too. So long, and so good. I still can't believe it. Its clear the band really loves Boston, and really loved playing there last night. You could tell that Leash was coming cause the band and especially Eddie and Mike were so into it both nights. I'm so glad last night was the show I took my sister to. Thanks Boston and PJ for two incredible concerts! :D

I had been waiting for this since 1992. When I lost my hope that they would ever play Greece I decided to come and study here so that I would finally watch them play live.

This night was a HUGE REWARD to everybody that had the chance to experience it. And I had the chance to realize that there is no other band that means so much to its fans.

PS These fuckers finally decided to play Greece. Guess what! I am flying back for the show on September 30th!

    Pearl Jam at the Garden
    Less is still more
    By: MATT ASHARE

    5/25/2006 2:28:30 PM

THE PEOPLE'S BAND: Pearl Jam is for you, if you'll have them

After a dozen or more years of taking crap from friends for insisting that Pearl Jam are always great live, I was ready to call bullshit on Wednesday, at the first of two shows at the Whoever’s-Sponsoring-It-Now Garden. With hordes of big guys in baseball hats bustling past me on the way in, hooting and hollering for no particular purpose, I was off to a good start. “Woo-hoo.” That’s right, you’re at the Garden. Shut the hell up and find your seats.

And then, with little fanfare — no explosions or giant video screens — five guys sauntered on a stage and, well, just started playing. You could argue that Pearl Jam take the theater out of the arena. But there’s so much drama down there in the songs — in the performances, too, in the obvious pleasure guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament take in laying down a solid, supple foundation with drummer Matt Cameron, and in Vedder’s tight-fisted, full-throated delivery. Anything more than some sparingly used green lasers would be too much. Pearl Jam have become the people’s band for those who are willing to have them. It’s an enviable position: no image is the image, no change the expectation. Their overly intense attention to squeezing every last drop of emotion out of every last song — an ailment that once seemed destined to bring Pearl Jam crashing down — has been replaced by a more easygoing atmosphere. The arrival of keyboardist Kenneth "Boom" Gaspar, the long-haired giant from Hawaii who’s insinuated himself into the band as Vedder’s mellowing agent over the past several years, has helped. Vedder didn’t make any over political statements (unless you count dedicating the new “Unemployable” to graduating college students), not even when playing the war-torn rockers “Severed Hand” and “World Wide Suicide” (which came early enough in the set for 11-year-old Jimmy, sitting next to me with his dad, to hear them — and “Evenflow”! — before his first nap.)

Vedder, wine bottle in hand, did make a suspect comment about Boston being special to Pearl Jam. It’s the kind of thing you’d write off as showbizzing, except that there’s some actual history: their first show after Kurt Cobain’s suicide was here, local academic icon Howard Zinn joined them on stage a couple years later, and during one infamous three-night stand they played the entire Pearl Jam songbook. And once again, Pearl Jam struck paydirt in Boston: it happened to be Bob Dylan’s 65th birthday. Vedder saluted him in the first encore with a shaky “Forever Young” and slightly stronger “Masters of War.” An inspired “Crazy Mary” that climaxed with an epic Hammond organ solo (replete with cries of “BOOM” from the crowd) finally got the band rolling again. Jimmy was back on his feet. And, as usual, Pearl Jam had been great. Damn them.

Last night was my 11 year old sons first PJ concert. We had great seats, 8th row on Mike's side. He knew how lucky he was to be part of last night. He lost his voice singing along with the crowd. Sometimes I would look over at him and see an expression of absolute amazement on his face. Thanks to the guy and girl behind us for rocking out with him! He LOVED it!

To put LEASH in perspective..the song had not been sung live since before my son was BORN.

The people around me went NUTS when we realized we were hearing leash. It was like the crowd EXPLODED! I like that it wasn't "introduced" beforehand. It made it all that more surprising.

Boston 1 was just as amazing. For me, last night was a continuation of one long show that I will never forget!

Holy. Fucking. Shit. This was my 2nd show, my first being Hartford, and this was 2000x better than Hartford. The energy in the Garden was out of this world. Every song was amazing, they gave it their all out there.

Highlights: Oh, fuck there were so many...

Acoustic Porch - I just knew it would be a great show after this
    It Makes No Difference
LEASH - I'm not a huge fan of the song....its still very good though....but it was amazing they chose this show to play it
    Smile
    Indifference
    Low Light
    State of Love and Trust
    A beautiful Black
    Alive
Sox GM Theo Epstein playing guitar on RITFW

If I kept going I would probably list every song they played. But thats just how it was. The band was fuckin' intense last night.

Before the show started, a girl with a group a couple rows in front of me stepped on one of those black strips that cover the seperations in the loge seats, and her leg went straight through. In reaction to that, her friend saw the blood and passed out, I imagine hitting her head on something, cause one of the other friends was holding ice there. I know its terrible to laugh at, but watching the whole situation unfold was hilarious. And hey, her friends were laughing....

Then as we were trying to find our way out of Boston after the concert we were stopped at a light and across the street sitting at that light was a nice SUV. Two guys were walking down the sidewalk (looked homeless and drunk) and all of a sudden each went to the driver and passenger windows and starting banging the hell out of them to break the glass, but it didn't break, and I'd be surprised if he didn't break his hand. There was a pedestrian that saw the whole thing unfolding and ran in and popped him in the nose and it looked like he started gushing blood. A cop was sitting right next to us at the light and for some reason he didn't see this all right away, but then he got involved and it was fuckin' crazy. My hats off to the pedestrian who stopped those fuckers from doing anything further....and I hope everyone is alright and those 2 are in jail.....

I agree with you but the show still kicked ass. I didn't mind so much that they repeated the New Album but I felt some of the older stuff didn't need to be repeated. Except alive that was awesome.
