I agree about Continental Airlines Arena. I hate seeing concerts there, I was hoping that PJ would play the Garden again on this tour, but they chose the Meadowlands instead. Hopefully, next tour, the arena will already be torn down and not an option, they may play in the new Newark Arena instead.****************************************

Tonight is the bootleg to download! for those of you who said the crowd sucked, i don't know what you are talking about. Even all the way up in section 201, the majority of people were standing (except to the dudes behind me, but at leat they didn't complain).
I really think this was one of the best shows that I have ever been too. The first set felt like they were never going to end it. Boom was unreal at the end of Crazy Mary.. Very intense when Mike was up next to him and they were dueling back and fourth. Matt stole the show thursday, but tonight was definitly Mike's night. All of his solos went on forever. I know this is the second or third time he has done it, but closing out with the Star Spangled Banner was unelievable.
Overall, I have no complaints about this show. Definilty recommend the boot when it becomes available...
goodnight. goodbye.
my seats were the exact opposite of yours. thursday sec 201 row 9, good show. saturday, 10C seats in sec 121 row 4 (on the aisle closest to the stage in line w/ row 10 of the floor!!!!!!!!!!) saturday blew thursday away in my opinion. the set list along w/ the incredible seats i had, just amazing. the place was rocking the whole show, everyone w/ in my view was going nuts the whole night, amazing show.Randall's Island 9/29/96, Continental Arena 9/8/98, MSG 9/10/98, Jones Beach 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 8/25/00, Nassau Coliseum 4/30/03, MSG 7/8/03, 7/9/03, Continental Arena 6/1/06, 6/3/06, MSG 6/24/08, 6/25/08, Spectrum 10/30/09, 10/31/09, MSG 5/20/10, 5/21/10, PJ20 9/3/11, 9/4/11, Charlottesville 10/29/13, Charlotte 10/30/13, Global Citizen 9/26/15, Raleigh 4/20/16 Baltimore 3/28/20 Austin 9/18/23, 9/19/23, Forum 5/21/24, Baltimore 9/12/24, Fenway 9/17/24, Nashville 5/6/25, 5/8/250 -
Could be my no 1 show of all time- maybe number 2- The energy and crowd were night and day from night 1- sick setlist- incredible energy matching MSG shows!!!
we were side stage which I think helped out a lot since night 1 where we were on the backside of the arena were the sound wasnt as strong. Crowd was standing going apeshit the whole show, also a change from night 1 were most people were sitting in the back sections if they werent playing ten songs. Tonight was more a FREAKS show then a greatest shit show. Even Ed said "I don't think this is the same crowd as last night!!" They were loving the energy feed- I thought Camden 2 was high energy- forget it, this blew it away.
Asked a few guys what they wanted to hear online outside and one guy said Hail Hail- I reached my arms up to the sky and yelled hail hail!!! He said-by just the way I yelled it he thought we were definitely getting it tonight- AND WE DID!! 2nd or 3rd song in!!! went nuts- I also yelled out for Don't Gimme No Lip and we got that one too!!!! Love it when Stone takes front and center!!!! Inside job -I LOVE this song!!! We got the High Numbers tune (the who) Leaving Here off Lost Dogs- outrageous!!! No Big Wave but still we got Rats and Lukin- oh man Lukin was fucking HOT!!!!! Very friendly crowd in my section- Thanks for a GREAT ending to the Leg- this was my 5th show on the tour and by FAR THE BEST!!!! Can't wait to fly out to Cincinatti in a month- Thank You so much- You are TRUE ROCK GODS!!!!! Long Live Pearl Jam!!!!!!!

Show 2 was much better - crowd was better - people were better- Ed & guys always great - so glad to hear In Hiding - perfect - love that song - would of LOVED Light Years- but hey cannot complain! I totally enjoyed both nights - I was in section 4 on 6/1 and really couldnt see a thing - very tall people in front of me! LOL Last night was just over in section 6 & saw everything - perfect veiw of entire stage - and the crowd was great too!! Hope everyone had a blast as I did!! See you guys soon!! Cant wait til they come back!!Later~~Jules...0

You can see from my signature that I haven't been to as many shows as I would like, but out of the ones I *have* seen, last night was by far the best.
First of all, I went on the great ticket odyssey. I didn't buy 10c seats to this show when they went on sale because I'm broke. I only bought Hartford. After Hartford, I thought, "dumbass, you have to see them again on this tour." I also didn't have anyone to go with, so I bought a crappy ticketmaster single. Two days ago, I went on the board and found a guy wanting to sell his extra 10c. So I e-mailed him, though I was a little leery since I already had a ticket and wasn't sure I could sell it. I'm new to all this wheeling and dealing. But long story short, the 10cer I bought the ticket from was the nicest guy ever and we had a great time!! Not to mention I sold my ticket to another great guy, and the best part of the deal was that I got to sit in the best seats I've ever had (sec 9, row W), thanks to my 10c hero!!
So, the setlist started with not only the first songs from Continental 1, but also very similar (though out of order, and without my favorite "Marker in the Sand") to Hartford. I thought that was interesting, but I love those songs live, so it was cool. All the people around us were really into the band and that was awesome. Hail, Hail rocked so hard, and everyone was really into it.
I was already feeling really lucky and happy about getting there, having the great seats, being next to cool people, having heard Ed's beautiful rendition of "No Surrender," etc., so when the set went more obscure with "Love Boat Captain," I practically peed myself with euphoria.
My highlights were: best "Porch" ever, in my opinion; Stone getting to sing, though I wish it was "Mankind" instead of "Don't Gimme No Lip," best "Black" ever (made me cry...twice), and the fact that the song they decided to play with their backs facing me was "Last Kiss," the song I would have picked, out of all songs, for them to do that with... or "Jeremy." But that didn't play that at all...even better. They also played "State of Love and Trust," my favorite song of all time and it never gets old. It was my first time hearing "Rats" live and I fucking love that song, so I was so excited when I heard just the opening drum riff.
Okay, now for lowlights... these guys behind us came in like halfway through the first set... I think they were the same guys that another poster was complaining about from row M! How did they sit in two different places at once?! LOL! But almost the exact same profile... polo shirts, slicked back hair. I'm 100% positive they weren't 10c, though they were 10c seats. They kept saying drunkenly, "These guys put on a good show!" like they were surprised. Then, during the WM3 interlude, they screamed, "shut the fuck up and play!" And when the wife came out on stage, they screamed, "show us your tits!" Earlier, during "Inside Job," they were complaining that the song was too slow and started singing Def Leppard and Bon Jovi songs at the top of their lungs. Before the show, my 10c seat hero had said that was what he really wanted to hear, so I was so pissed on his behalf and shot them my dirtiest teacher-look, but I didn't want to get into an argument, so I tried to let it slide. But I just want it said for the record that A) those guys were total dicks and
whatever 10c members sold their seats to those guys or scalpers SUCK.
But even those guys couldn't ruin my night. It was completely awesome and the best show I've ever been to. Oh, and I also loved that the house lights came on in the middle of "Alive" and stayed on for "Yellow Ledbetter," I don't know if that was planned or if it was the venue kicking us out. But whatever it was, I thought it was very cool and made it almost more intimate at the end. There was so much love between the guys on stage... with each other and all of us... It was awesome.
BTW, I don't know about the complaining about the Meadowlands. I found getting there, parking, and getting out to be the most seamless, smooth, well-thought-out experience I've had at a show. I also thought the venue and sound were quite good. I was very impressed with the whole experience.
That's all I can think of to say right now. But I would add that I agree this is a must-have boot. Get it ASAP! Thanks for reading and a shout-out to my hero and all the cool 10cers around us!9/13/98 -- Hartford, CT

AllNiteThing wrote:So basically you stole someone else's seats so YOU could sit as far up front as you wanted. In other words you had no respect for the ticketing situation or other peoples' space. I would have asked to see your ticket too, and politely asked you to get out of my seats. If you gave me the shit you gave these guys, I would have knocked your fucking teeth out. Disrespectful bastard.
People like you ruin the concert for the rest of us. People trying to move forward, crowding our seats, etc. We pay good money for our seats and don't need some leech weasling his way to get closer to Eddie so he can get a pick and 'rock out'. Fuck that and your selfish attitude.
No, If you had read correctly and did not pass judgement so quickly, you would have read that within that row a fan club member came by himself (ALONE) so there was an EMPTY seat in that ROW FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW. A perfect beautiful seat in the fourth row gone to waste BTW. I was not trying to take SOMEONE ELSE'S SEAT, I was filling in an EMPTY seat. Those two assholes only cared about seat numbers and since their seat numbers didnt match up they flipped out like I didn't hand in a quarterly financial report. BTW you must be like one of them huh or you don't take the time to read well before passing judgement and rushing to conclusions. You also having the nerve to insult me as selfish is completely unsupported by the fact alone that I did not mind that although I sold my fan EXTRA FAN CLUB SEAT FOR FACE TO 1 GIRL I DID NOT MIND HER BF JOINING HER... Sure it was a little less place but how could I seperate a couple wanting to enjoy a show together? I know if my wife didn't have strep she'd be the only person I'd want to sit next to at the show!POP POP!0 -

Right?
Exactly... did I mention strongly enough they LEFT EARLY! I don't know about everyone else but that makes no sense to me because that to me is like seeing one of your best friends, having an interchange of stories and working out some really painful moments and laughing through through the great times shared and then without notice leaving without saying goodbye, leaving without giving your best friend a hug and kiss and saying goodbye... Does anyone else feel like this or am I nuts...
Anyway why the hell is anyone thinking of traffic at a PJ concert... It sure seems that way anyway when someone leaves after the first encore or during the 2nd... I'm sure a different circumstance is if someone had an emergency but these guys were strolling after the first encore... BTW this was supposed to be a one sentence post, haha.POP POP!0 -
I was in section 109...great seats...everyone around me was really into it...highlights were In Hiding, Rats, Leash and Hard to Imagine...never heard any of 'em live before...got me a poster on the way in (just 1!!!)...all in all, damn good time...I only wish there were more to this leg!0

I was at both shows in East Rutherford and the second night completely blew away the first night. They played an extra 30-40 minutes, it was a more creative set, the crowd was much better and everyone in the band seemed to totally let loose. It was one of the best Pearl Jam shows I've ever seen. The recorded version just won't do it justice...it was amazing."It makes much more sense to live in the present tense..."

Think you are just jealous because New York shows are always stellar! After all Ed did say that it was no mistake that the BAND chose to end the tour in the New York City Area...therefore not Boston.0 -
eds preset was great. and for the 3rd time i have seen them my morning jacket were on point and fantastic... i had awsome seats, section 2 row j, i could see the stage perfectly(im 5'4 and its hard for me to see over you giants out there) so i was in a great mood, until these douchebag drunken fucks came and ruined the whole night for me, not only did they try and sneak every one of there friends into the row infront of me and my row, they tried to kick out a dude and his girlfriend who actually had seats in that row,the drunk beside me kept bumping into me and after 40 minutes i told him to stop it or he would get his ass kicked by a midget, and he proceeded to tell me that he has been to over 35 pearl jam shows(which is just bullshit) and i told him i didnt give two shits because he was ruining my time at the show, this so called pearl jam fan didnt know any songs besides the ones that are more popular so his going to 35 shows is a straight up lie, and he would have known alittle more etiquette towards other fans, he and his friends talked LOUDLY( they were trying to hear themselves over the music) over- gone, love boat captin, inside job(which ruined the first time i heard this song live) garden and black which were both during mikes solo's which a person like me is trying to hear everthing thats going on.... when the wife of one of the wm3's came out, one of them proceeded to ask everyone else if they would fuck her....only time they actually gave a shit is when even flow last kiss, crazy mary was on,everything else they were busy telling the other to give me your beer, or pass that fucking joint man, and when 4 of them left because they wanted to hear better man(and they thought they were) but ed played leaving here(which was hilarious and made that song much better for me) but of course they scurried down in the middle of alive and butcherd yellow ledbetter(didnt know the lyrics but decided to mumble words as loud as they could)
now i dont care if people drink smoke do whatever they want at shows( i get drunk and smoke some herb before the shows) i dont care, ASLONG AS YOU DONT INTERFERE WITH SOMEONE ELSES TIME and these douchebags did, they ruined my night because i couldnt go a minute with out ethier getting beer spilt or hearing them trying to have a conversation, so to the fuckers in section 2 row i and half of j...........FUCK YOU
as for the rest of the show...i thought it was alright, awsome porch, but compared to last weekend at camden i thought the crowd sucked, very quiet and didnt know alot of the songs....HAVENT YOU PEOPLE HEARD THE NEW VERSION OF GARDEN YET? why am i the only one who cheers when they start it but everyone around me didnt know what was happening until ed started singing........night two in camden totally blew this show away... although the band were on point and exciting..
that was my night....again fuck you to the douchebags.....I LOVE THIS BAND

Wow I guess I'm the only one who thought night 1 blew this one away. Better setlist IMO, with Immortality, Not for You, Footsteps, etc. The audio problem at the beginning of Animal last night was a huge momentum killer, and the sound was completely fucked from then on. Everyone in my section was complaining (sec. 122, Stone's side). Couldn't understand what Ed was saying at times, didn't hear Mike AT ALL for a few songs, etc. It seemed to gradually improve as the night wore on, or maybe I just got used to it. But it ruined a good chunk of the main set for me, and from then on I just felt like, okay, nothing will ever top Thursday so I'll just soak this in while I can, it's my last show for a while. Hard to Imagine was incredible, so was Black and Life Wasted. Other than that, too many songs I'd already heard on this tour (ESPECIALLY ALIVE, jeez give it a break).
But a "bad" PJ show is still 2+ hours I'd choose to spend over just about anything else in life, so it's all relative. Those of us who see a lot of shows have been spoiled by some amazing performances. I would put DC and E. Rutherford night 1 down as 2 of the best Concerts I've ever seen, period.
Another thing, the poster situation last night was a joke. IT'S ONE PER CUSTOMER, when will the band crack down on the idiot vendors? Once again the Ebay parasites are having a field day.0 -
Just got home from spending the last 3 days in Rutherford / NYC. Both shows were excellent, but I'd have to say this show was a little better. Loved Comatose - SOLAT - Rats. Inside Job was a highlight for me, as well as Hard to Imagine and Porch. Probably best version of Crazy Mary I've ever heard.
The only thing that I was disappointed in was the lack of energy from the crowd around us the second night. The people in front of us were sitting for the entire show except Alive and Even Flow and left after Last Exit. The guy sitting next to me was passed out drunk most of the show and when he woke up he was standing on top of me... I about had to slap him around but his friend got him out of there. I guess I just have to get used to this sort of thing at any show I go to.
Met some cool people during tailgating (I think we were the first ones there at both shows, arrived 1:30 pm), two of the best shows I've ever seen, couldn't ask for more!!!Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -
GREAT SHOW!!!
Out of my limited catalog of shows, this setlist is #2, and crowd was by far #1.
Someone posted above that they went to Hartford and realized they had to get a real 'fix'. I felt the same way. This show wasnt even comparable to Hartford.
The show was great. It was funny when the power went out in the beginning of Animal. In Hiding was excellent. Best versions of Porch and Crazy Mary I have ever heard.
I never was so happy to hear LBC and I Am Mine.
Mike soloing on Eddie's shoulders
Matt's drum solo was greeeeeaaat!!!!
Eddie shining the reflection off the bridge of the guitar into the crowd was sweet.
The crowd was really into every second of the show. Even after the show people filtering into the parking lot were still yelling.
Almost everybody I encountered were awesome people and it was a true Pearl Jam crowd, offsetting the folly of Hartford.0
