oh yeah, the poster thing. my fucking friend bought 8! i couldn't believe that shit. i bought four but gave three to the three dudes i went to the show with so whatever. i saw people buying as many as they could until they ran out of cash. the vendors just didn't give a fuck. the one per customer rule has always been a bit of a joke but this was out of control

Holy shit 8!! Well if he would like to sell one I would love to have an extra poster and would pay face plus all the packing and shipping fees to keep it in good shape unless your friends is looking to make EBAY cash... If that is so, my 2500 stipend from NYC for summer special education teacher training won't do the trick... it barely covers my bills... so I am looking forward to SEP. when my paycheck will start

Got to the door about 630 and was headed in to see about a poster when the guy frisked me and let me through. I was holding my binocular case in my hand, they are the small kind perfect for concerts. I had shitty seats tonight, sec 210 row 6 (I missed out on the 10C onsale so I went for gen onsale) so the binoculars would have been nice. I took 3 steps passed the security guard and began pulling the door open when he grabbed my from behind and asked me if it was binoculars or a camera I was holding. I said binoculars, he said I can't bring them in. I had to walk all the way back to my car, which was on the opposite side of the complex across the footbridge near Giants Stadium. I took nearly 20 minutes each way so I didn't get a poster. The thing that gets me is that when he thought it was a camera, it was OK, but binoculars are banned?

Show was great preset was awsome, and the MMJ version of It Makes No Difference was incredible with Ed. Rick Danko would have been proud. Was surprised to hear SH to open, but I love the song. The power outage during Animal was pretty funny. It did last quite a while, i wonder if they'll leave all the dead air in the bootleg? LBC, WHipping In Hiding, Rats, the great songs just kept coming. During the jam in Even Flow (or was it Garden) Ed had this spot light shine down from directly above, and he held his guitar above his head and created a cool reflection which he shined around the arena on every section, it was really cool to watch. Mike came over to Boom during the Mary jam and they traded licks for a long time.

I had my WM3 shirt on tonight and it was really cool to hear Ed discuss the case and introduce Damien Echols wife. She said a few words, and the drunken frat boys around me started yelling "Play a song!!!". Fucking assholes, then 3 more frat boys and their girlfriends tried to cram into my row, I hate that shit.

Boy they sure do like to smoke weed in NJ.

yeah, that was me at tower! i didn't have crutches then because i hadn't yet stepped on a damn sea urchin in puerto rico and gotten an infection that ran up my leg. shit sucks. i still rocked the fuck out though. great fucking show.

Yea you have to watch out for them (Well, guess you know that now huh), My family lives in PR, I was just there... and yes that show did rock like all PJ shows except it was 24 X more intimate. BTW that mask provided a laugh towards the end of a very long day at Tower.

Yea the A-holes behind me (who seemed cool, they sand along to every song and totally rocked out) When he first mentioned June 3rd as WM3 day awareness day they say sarcastically "Oh happy f'ing holidays dude, awesome". Then when Ed introduced Damien's wife on stage but first said "I'd like to call a great woman out to the stage" yelled "Is she topless" and when she walked out "they go to each other "Not bad dude, I'd bang her" then when Ed gives her a hug and kiss they say "watch out, oh boy, prison can make a women do a lotta things with a man ED" and when he mentioned his friendship with Damien and how he assisted Ed with writing Army Reserve they said "No wonder it sucks and hopefully we wont have to hear it again"... I did not turn around so maybe it was not the guys who were totally rocking out but it sounded so close to my ears but who ever it was, were sitting in row N Section 9 around seat 9.10,11 and you are truly Jerk-Offs... You may not like a song but all your previous comments and commentarry like you are John Madden on Monday Night Football was just plain ignorrant.... Great crows tonight with volume and met some cool people minus the DICKS which you can read about at the top of page 2, but I do wish these shows would have been at MSG.

BTW I love the Riff in Army Reserve that guitar riff is so good and the introduction is so amazing. It is not my favorite song on PJ but it is growing on me. The guitar riff though wow, one of Pearl Jam's catchiest IMHO.

I hope not, but so many people got shut out, the demand will be high. Well if he wants to hook up a PJ fan, its good karma, it usually comes back around... But I guess some people don't care about that connection and it sucks when it happens around people that yoou do have that connection with (musically at least which on some level is spiritual) Im getting too deep, I must be tired and should go to bed.

  • Some highlights for me:::

just walking in and seeing the preset was unreal. it felt so intimate and it kept going... and then Ed and Jim James singing together... wow. my two favorite voices and coming together and it sounded so good. I fuckin' loved it. super special. probably the last time you could ever catch that.

then i find my actual seats... and no, these were not 10c seats... they are, check this, upper deck... that's right: upper level... BUT facing the stage and ROW 1. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING SEATS I COULD EVER IMAGINE. IT'S LIKE YOU ARE FLYING ABOVE THE ARENA. IN FRONT OF YOU IS COMPLETE OPEN SPACE, THE STAGE, THE CROWD. And the sound was unbelievable too, facing the stage directly. It truly was unreal fucking seats!!!! I felt like I was in Star Wars at one of those senate meetings.

so back to my highlights.... the beginning of Severed Hand was sweet, much more kick ass than when they play the beginning on the PA system. The Animal incident was funny because even the microphone went out so Ed couldn't even speak to us or explain anything. Just throwing his arm up in the air. When the power came back, he said "Can you hear me now?". (well, you can imagine the crowd reaction for yourselves...).

PORCH was the highlight of the fucking night... I mean the bridge was something else... Eddie lifted his guitar above his head and used it as a mirror to illuminate every section of the arena, going around to create a big wave. At one point, he stopped to read a sign in the crowd. and then starting again. and the jam was intense... and they built it back up.... slowly on the guitar and, slowly rising, ...... and BAM.... HEAR MY NAME, TAKE A GOOD LOOK, THIS COULD BE THE DAY.... ****** and this is not like the mirror in half full... it's off the strings of his guitar above his head. and during porch... wwwwwoooowww.

Black was damn sweet too. Not only we got the "we belong together" tag but it was... ah, what was it.... "don't you know.... we belong... we belong together... together".

it got a little weird too, Eddie thanking the northeast as a whole and how good we had been to them in the last 2 hours, and the past 15 YEARS...and they didn't know when they would come back. That freaked me out. Seemed like a farewell.

and then Stone took the mike and thanked Eddie for all the energy he put into the band over the years, and how hard he worked on the last album, how dedicated he was, and the setlists every night.. .they're lucky to have him. HUGE CHEER for Eddie, was nice to see that-- but it made me somewhat sad... like it was one of their last show up here.

i love how he brought up the WM3 and how WE helped with our $1 donation, and he said he became really good friends with Damien and he wrote part of the next song with him... army reserve.

lukin was a good suprise, and leash followed but the best part is that there were still a handful of songs to come.

Ah, shit, i'm sure there are more highlights/memories but that's all I can emotionally dig up for right now. I have to be at work in a few hours. Truly amazing show, and trust me, those seats were UNFUCKING REAL. get yourselves row 1 on the upper deck facing the stage... your life will change.

yeah, hard to imagine and rats were fucking great. and inside job... fuck i could go on forever.....

    good night

** i have to edit my post to bring up In Hiding early in the set. that BLEW ME AWAY. AND I LOVED HOW THE WHOLE CROWED CHANTED "I'M IN HIIIDING.....". really special.

alright good night. for real this time.

EXCELLENT SHOW.....EXCELLENT CROWD TOO! Amazing how a crowd effects your own energy at a show. 10C seat were sweet too! Section 5. My hubby only goes to one show a tour with me, and he had a blast!

I didn't like when Ed said he didn't know when they would be back here in the N.East. I hear that and get scared that it may be a couple of years now before we see them again. Makes me want to buy plane tickets and go and see them again during this tour.

Great show, lot of repeats though, from Thusday night but I had a BLAST going around with the band this time around. I met some awesome people and had a blast doing so! One gripe though with some of you small numbered people! Tonight my wife came down with strep throat and my brother had his tix with someone else so I was solo on the floor and sold my extra TIX (FACE OF COURSE) to a girl (who was looking to buy two but settled for one as her BF bought another one solo so they both could get in). So I did not mind that she wanted to cool out with her BF.

After MMJ set I went down to row E and chatted up with some cool guys (I forget your names, but I do remember your parents live in Portugal and your first show was in 92 at Saratoga, so if you read this say HELLO--you were a cool dude) In that row a fan member came solo so I thought (cool maybe since I am here alone I can stay here)... Show Starts (I am loving this and going nuts and believe me Ed notices and throws a pick right my way after Severed Hand) Well fast forward four or five songs in and the guys who seats I am standing at comes in with their Mrs Fields cookies, nachos, pretzels and beer wearing their tucked in polos into their stonewashed jeans with their black belts with the gold belt buckles and their Brooks Brothers sock peeping brown penny loafers and starts asking to see stubs like he is security. I try and tell him that we will all have a seat since someone three seats down came solo and he says "don't think so pal" and flags down security... so I go back to row M and rock out with the girl who I sold my tix to and her BF and sure the row was a lil tighter but no one bitched. Case in point some of you low number people (and I do have a low number 134XX) but I mean REAL low number people are DICKS. So if you two assholes from row E WHO ALSO LEFT EARLY ARE READING THIS FU.

OH YEAH... THANK YOU SO MUCH PEARL JAM!!! IN HIDING! HARD TO IMAGINE!! RATS!! LEASH!! Eddie picking Mike up on his shoulers... when the power went down asking if Bruce paid the elctrical bill (haha) DON'T GIMEE NO LIP, LIFE WASTED REPRISE--> LIFE WASTED (How the album should have started IMHO) LEAVING HERE! NO SURRENDER and many many more highlights... I am looking forward to my next BIG WAVE of shows (WHY DID THEY NOT PLAY THIS SONG ON THIS FIRST LEG)

Hope this show is not remembered as Postergate though...

So basically you stole someone else's seats so YOU could sit as far up front as you wanted. In other words you had no respect for the ticketing situation or other peoples' space. I would have asked to see your ticket too, and politely asked you to get out of my seats. If you gave me the shit you gave these guys, I would have knocked your fucking teeth out. Disrespectful bastard.

People like you ruin the concert for the rest of us. People trying to move forward, crowding our seats, etc. We pay good money for our seats and don't need some leech weasling his way to get closer to Eddie so he can get a pick and 'rock out'. Fuck that and your selfish attitude.

i was disappointed with the back-to-back severed hand opener, but by hail, hail, i really started to get into the show. then they ripped into animal, and immediately, i wondered what the fuck happened to the sound. they never got the sound right after that and it completely ruined the show for me. it really doesn't matter what songs they play when the sound is shit--even if the "energy" from the crowd is great. this was my 25th show, and by far the worst because of the audio issues. i'm just not one of those people that will jump around and scream just because of what everyone else around me is doing. it's all about the music for me and if it sounds shitty, then guess what?...it's a crappy show.

I had seats in the same section as Thursday, just 5 rows higher. I was happy.

There were 2 very drunk guys in front of me or either could not stand up or were just madly in love. I swear one of them was passed out forever. Then, some guy who is wearing a ghostbusters overalls outfit comes to my row and is so drunk that he could not even stand. He fell backwards twice and one me twice. At one point, 3 songs in, he left he row and never came back. he was either passed out or kicked out. Good Ridance. His friend who did not know where he was did not seem to worry.

Overall, a good show, but I was surprised that the same 3 songs opened this show as the Thursday show. I was really hoping for a sit down encore with Off he Goes, Hard to Imagine and a few others. Hard to Imagine was greatness and was my second time to hear it (philly '05).

Kind of bummed that I have no more shows to see this year though

The posters sold out quick b/c the vendors seemed to be keeping a lot for themselves. A guy who I talked with on Thursday and sells the Avacado and Big Wave posters told me that there were enough posters shipped to cover most everyone in the venue, but the vendors did indeed keep them. Klausen always prints more than Ames. I got mine and I am happy, but there was a stampede from booth to booth. Kind of scary if you ask me.

I met some great people, Lupe and Ben, from LA and we hung out outside Gate A both nights. If you read this, I hope you guys get home ok.

Anyway, 2006 has been good to me for concerts

THAT was probably the highlight of the night. i also saw your friend get 8 posters, which i thought was fucked up. two i can see, but 8?...come on.

i was in sec. 121, row 21. same section as night 1, and night 1 was a great show as far as i'm concerned.

crowd was fuckin horrible, ed tried everything to get them going, the only songs they were awake for were last kiss and alive, it's a shame they decided to end the tour here, the crowd sucked!

  • Wow!! Great fucking show! I had seats in the 203 which is by far my worst seats at a PJ show to date, but still I had a great time. It was cool to see the lightshow from above and the people on the floor rockin' out. There were some people behind us sitting down but for the most part everyone was having a good time up there.

As for the setlist, This was my 8th show and I've only said "holy shit" 2 other times to my friend as we were walking out, at Randalls Island II in '96 and at MSG I in 2003, I said it again last night, the set was that fucking amazing! I could care less whether they repeat songs from previous nights, who gives a shit? The crowd was amazing, the band was unbelievable, they pulled out songs I wanted to hear, and songs I never expected to hear, not to mention the staples that I always love to hear. Thank you Pearl Jam for a great 1st leg!

Now for some bitchin'. Not about the band but about my fellow 10 C members. How the fuck can you leave a show before the band takes it's bow? I don't give a shit how many times you've heard Alive or Ledbetter, you know how bad that looks when the arena lights are on and people from the first 30 rows are filing out with the band still playing? It's embarrassing to say the least. Have some fucking respect for the band.
    That's it, I'm done ranting.

    Great show!

Last night was absolutely incredible!!!!! It just got better and better as the night went on! It was odd that they played the same three opening songs as Thursday, but there is no way I can complain about that....to just be there both nights was amazing!!!! Great 10c seats too....Thursday night Section 120 row 24 and last night Section 109 Row 7!!!

I'm sorry to the people that didn't get to buy a poster....I bought one poster...if it makes any of you feel any better the guy at our booth would only sell one poster per person...at least one of the workers/booths did his job correctly! :D

See you all at the Gorge...woohoo!!!!!

Oh and one more thing...I LOVED the way they did the first encore...not the normal sitting down slow acoustic set...not that I don't love the acoustic set, but I loved that they mixed it up and did it differently last night!

maybe some people have baysitters to get home to, and don't have time to battle the traffic out of the venue, or there might be a dozen other reasons why people need to get out of the arena early. think before you post--not everyone's lives revolve around pearl jam.
