Showed my wife the photo. She said to tell Old Rob to stop being a jackass.

    I love that woman.

So I was out working in the yard April 1st and without going into the details, I fell backwards while pulling up some weeds.  Must have put my right hand out to catch myself and as soon as I looked at it I knew I was in trouble.  I know this thread usually has pictures of the injuries but I didn't have the presence of mind to take a picture.  Just picture a hand bent backwards at a weird angle and stuck in that position.

At the ER I learned my wrist was broken in 2 places and I'd need surgery as soon as the swelling went down a little.  Here's how it looked after surgery April 10.

I also had some really bad bruises on my right leg and my elbow.  No pics of those.

I've been stuck at home since this happened while trying to learn how to live as a lefty.  Everyone asks how I'm doing and I can't say much except my arm hurts!  My co-workers text and call to check on me and I tell them, My arm hurts!  The surgeon's office follows up with me and I tell them, My arm hurts!  My prince comes home from work and asks how my day was and I tell him, My arm hurts!

Supposedly I'm healing beautifully!  And I'll have a beautiful scar to go with it!  I go back to work next Monday and I'm sure my co-workers will be glad to see me, since they've all been covering for me.  That is until they find out I'm not supposed to lift, push, or pull anything over 2 lbs.

    I guess I'm a little cranky.  :anguished:

Hmm . . .  There's been a lot of coyote sightings recently.  Maybe I could say I fought off an attack?

Earlier this afternoon I slammed one of my fingers in the car door.  I was outside our local religious thrift store so instead of cussing, it was more like, "Mmmm...   Fuuuuuu... Daaaaaa.. Shiiiiii...
    ...OWWW!"

Still hurts like a summ gumm.

No.  Damn, I guess that means it's not a true MOTHERF**KER!!!!!! moment.

On the other hand, now that I'm not in front of the religious thrift store I'm guessing it's OK now to say, "Motherfucker!  Fuck!  Damn! Shit!"

Did this to my right ring finger yesterday.  I was washing dishes when suddenly a neighbor started shooting--- which is  allowable here is this god-forsaken county outside the city limits.  Urgh!!!   :-(   The shooting caught me by surprised and I squeezed a drinking glass so hard it shattered.  The cut crosses the whole finger like a big flap.  Ouch!!!

Oh, geez, Brian - that sucks. What a nuisance that will be while it heals. I have no idea how I would react if I suddenly heard shots in my neighbourhood.

I cut a dime size chunk out of my thumb once.
It was held on by a flap, so I tried to stick it back in place and cover it up.
It healed wrong and looked like I was growing an extra thumb.
    Wish I had a picture.

Honestly, that’s basically what the ER doc would do, though obviously with sterile equipment. If I had the same issue and I had a way to deal with it at home in 10 seconds instead of waiting in the ER, I would, because those bleeds trapped under the nail are incredibly painful.
