Just road rash. The separated shoulder is much worse, but it’s not as gory.

Waiting for discharge instructions from the hospital.
Bike crash I assume? You didn’t get that paddle boarding ;)

Hope you heal up very soon, Daniel.
    Skateboarding.

And I’ve been told that the shoulder looks incredibly gnarly, but I haven’t looked at it yet. Level 3 separation.

    Also chest contusions, sprained AC.

In short, I’m all jacked up.

Good thing I was wearing a helmet.

No emergency surgery. It’s not dislocated from my arm, it’s separated from my collar bone. We’ll find out if I need any corrective surgery when I follow up with ortho.

I'm sorry. I know it's not your first time on a skateboard. I know nothing about shoulder separation or what that entails, but hoping for good healing.

Chances are, there might be some donuts in that box to help you feel better.

Ouch. I had a dislocated shoulder once. Ouch again. Feel better soon. I hope the pain is subsiding or they gave you some good painkillers.

Yeah, the shoulder is going to be messed up for a while. Probably the ribs, too.

As for the road rash, that almost feels like an old acquaintance. I skated everywhere for probably a dozen years or so. It was my primary mode of transportation, so every few months or so I’d wind up on the asphalt. And I never wore a helmet back then. No one did.

It sounds pretty crazy and yes it stings, but a salt water soak would help those to heal up pretty quick.

Been alternating salt washes and peroxide. Like I wrote, I’m pretty familiar with road rash.

Didn't realize salt water was a part of road rash healing.  Apologies.

Might not be. It’s certainly not on my discharge papers. But my people are from your area, so I probably learned the same home first aid remedies as you.

Missed the rib thing. But! There is a rib thing.
