Every casing found at the scene came from the officer's gun, Belmar said, and witnesses say that after the officer initially fired, the two young men took off running. "I saw the officer proceeding after my friend, Big Mike, with his gun drawn, and he fired a second shot, and that struck my friend, Big Mike," Johnson said. "And at that time, he turned around with his hands up, beginning to tell the officer that he was unarmed and to tell him to stop shooting. But at that time, the officer was firing several more shots into my friend, and he hit the ground and died." This matches Crenshaw's and Mitchell's story. Crenshaw told CNN that Brown got about 20 feet away from the police cruiser before the officer shot him again. "The cop gets out of his vehicle shooting," Mitchell said. "(Brown's) body jerked as if he was hit from behind, and he turned around, and he put his hands up. ... The cop continued to fire until he just dropped down to the ground, and his face just smacked the concrete." A private autopsy conducted for the Brown family showed that Brown had been shot at least six times, including twice in the head. Josie, recounting the officer's version of events, told the radio program that after the first shot went off inside the car, Brown and his friend started running, and Wilson pursued as protocol dictates. According to Josie, Wilson told the young men to freeze, and the pair turned around. The officer's account is that Brown started to taunt him, saying he wouldn't shoot him, and then rushed at the officer at full speed, Josie said. It was then that Wilson started firing, Josie said. She said that in the officer's opinion, Brown "was on something." According to her, the final shot hit Brown in the forehead, and he fell two or three feet in front of the officer. A new witness, Michael Brady, told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Wednesday that Wilson fired at Brown after the teen ran about 20 feet. Brady ran out of his apartment to get a closer look. Seconds later, he saw Brown doubled over, cradling one arm and beginning to fall forward. He took a step or two towards the officer but did not charge him, Brady said. Wilson fired three to four more shots at him, he said.

ORLANDO -- The Orlando police officer who shot and killed a woman during a late-night confrontation with an armed man early Tuesday morning in downtown Orlando fired his agency-issued weapon nine times, according to a report released Wednesday.
Officer Eduardo Sanguino struck the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Kody Roach, several times, the report states. Roach survived the shooting.
Maria Castillo, 22, was struck by a stray bullet fired from Sanguino's gun, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said Tuesday in a press conference. Police originally said Maria's last name was Godinez, but friends say she actually went by the last name Castillo. Castillo later died at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses at the time of the shooting said it wasn't likely that Roach fired his weapon. However, further investigation revealed Roach's .40-caliber handgun wasn't loaded and had no ammunition in the magazine or in the chamber, according to the report released Wednesday.
Police said the gun Roach had was stolen out of Orange County and was fully operational.
The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday outside Vixen Bar, 118 S. Orange Ave., when officers responded to a man with a gun.
Witnesses said the suspect, Kody Roach, was a regular at the bar. A man said Roach tried to walk inside the bar with his firearm.
911 calls began to come into dispatchers of a man with a gun outside the nightclub in downtown Orlando.
"He's, like, banging on the door with a gun!" said one caller.
A few minutes later, another caller who identified himself as a Vixen employee said Roach had been giving them trouble earlier.
"There's a guy we kicked out of our bar because he's too drunk and now he's started waiving his handgun around," the caller said. Police said there was then a confrontation between the suspect and officers after they arrived and shots were fired.
Witnesses said they heard as many as a half-dozen shots fired at the scene.
The officers involved are on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
Did police follow protocol? While officers face life or death situations many times in their careers, they also undergo specialized training to learn to cope with the pressure.
James Copenhaver, a private investigator and former Orange County sheriff’s investigator, said the revelation that nine shots were fired at a suspect in front of a crowded nightclub raises red flags about proper procedure.
Copenhaver said he understands the intensity of the situation.
“These cops are on heightened alert," he said. "They know that they are going on a call, that this guy has a gun because someone has seen it.”
But he said that’s when their constant training should kick in.
“It’s drilled in your head and you know before you take that fatal shot or any shot that you want some type of backdrop to protect potential citizens that are behind the suspect,” Copenhaver said. Copenhaver said a thorough review of the incident will determine if the shooting was justified.
This is just the latest incident where the actions of Orlando police officers were questioned. Copenhaver he agrees with the recent indictment of the Orlando police officer charged with firing the AR-15 in a local parking garage. He again points to questions in the officer’s training and said maybe it’s time for a review

Man charged with murder after cops shoot bystander
ORLANDO, Fla. – A Florida man was charged with murder on Tuesday in connection with a woman's death at an Orlando bar last week - even though a police officer fired the bullet that killed her, law enforcement officials said.
Police said the actions of Kody Roach, 23, resulted in the bystander's death on Aug. 19 from the stray shot and warranted a first-degree felony murder charge.
Under Florida law, a person can be charged with murder if a death occurs while a crime is being committed.
An officer fired at Roach nine times after unsuccessful attempts to subdue him, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said last week.
One of the bullets missed Roach and instead struck and killed Godinez, who was inside the bar with her friends.
Roach was hit five times, and another police officer on the scene was struck by a bullet that investigators believe ricocheted, according to an arrest affidavit.
The arrest report indicates the gun that was recovered from Roach -- a 40-caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun -- had been reported stolen by a friend of his the day before the shooting.
That friend told Orange County sheriff's deputies he had been drinking with Roach that night and went to bed. When he awoke the next morning, his gun, ammunition and $30 was missing.
And cops are trained. Why I fear getting shot by vigilante more than I do if robbers just left to rob. Amateur with gun defending me. Shudder. Concealed carry not in my interest.

They felt they were under attack, so they fought back. The problem is, they were under philosophic attack and they fought back physically. When the only tool you have is a hammer, you are bound to fail.
The worker, who has not previously spoken with reporters, said he did not see what happened at the officer’s car — where Wilson and Brown engaged in an initial struggle and a shot was fired from Wilson’s gun.
His account largely matches those who reported that Wilson chased Brown on foot away from the car after the initial gunshot and fired at least one more shot in the direction of Brown as he was fleeing; that Brown stopped, turned around and put his hands up; and that the officer killed Brown in a barrage of gunfire.
Another witness:
About a half-hour later, the worker heard a gunshot. Then he saw Brown running away from a police car. Wilson trailed about 10 to 15 feet behind, gun in hand. About 90 feet away from the car, the worker said, Wilson fired another shot at Brown, whose back was turned.
The worker said Brown stumbled and then stopped, put his hands up, turned around and said, “OK, OK, OK, OK, OK.” He said he told investigators from the St. Louis County police and the FBI that because of the stumble, it seemed to him that Brown had been wounded.

New Michael Brown shooting witnesses describe scene
(CNN) -- Two men, shocked at what they saw, describe an unarmed teenager with his hands up in the air as he's gunned down by a police officer.
They were contractors doing construction work in Ferguson, Missouri, on the day Michael Brown was killed.
And the men, who asked not to be identified after CNN contacted them, said they were about 50 feet away from Officer Darren Wilson when he opened fire.
An exclusive cell phone video captures their reactions during the moments just after the shooting. "He had his f**n hands up," one of the men says in the video.
The man told CNN he heard one gunshot, then another shot about 30 seconds later. "The cop didn't say get on the ground. He just kept shooting," the man said.
That same witness described the gruesome scene, saying he saw Brown's "brains come out of his head," again stating, "his hands were up."
The video shows the man raising his arms in the air -- just as, he says, Brown was doing when he was shot.
The other contractor told CNN he saw Brown running away from a police car. Brown "put his hands up," the construction worker said, and "the officer was chasing him."
The contractor says he saw Wilson fire a shot at Brown while his back was turned. The men said they didn't seen how the confrontation started.
Other witnesses also said teen's arms were raised
The video, recorded several minutes after the shooting, gives new insight into the case, which has spurred a Justice Department investigation, national debate and protests over authorities' handling of the case.
The construction workers said they don't live in Ferguson and don't know the Brown family, but their account squares with accounts from several other witnesses of the unarmed African-American teen's shooting death on August 9.
Analysts debate video's impact
CNN Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin says the video could play an important role in the case. "You have practically in real time someone discussing what they saw, and that's just good evidence," he said on CNN's "AC360."
Sunny Hostin, a CNN legal analyst and former federal prosecutor, says it's important to note that several witnesses are telling the same story.
"They're saying that he was running from the police officer and that his hands were up," she said. "I don't know what other witness testimony at this point or account we have to hear. The bottom line is having your hands up is the universal sign for surrender."
Neil Bruntrager, general counsel for the St. Louis Police Officers Association, cautioned against rushing to judgment. Witness accounts are important, he said, but need to be evaluated with all the evidence.
"I'm not saying disregard them. I'm saying that we will judge their credibility by all of the evidence, not by one statement, and certainly not by a 15-second video clip," he said.

toys guns are fucking nuts. guns are not toys. why get a child confused? if you have a house with real guns in it & the kids have toy guns you are asking for it. im saying the chances are greater that there will be a accident. you'd be better off teaching the kids that guns are deadly & not to fuck around.
i remember us brother made toy guns out of wood when we wanted to play war. our real guns were in the house. toy guns are not something i would give my kids. same with the shoot 'em up killing spree, war video games. my 5-10 yr old would not be playing machine gun bloody games on the 55 inch.
call me a strict dickhead all you want, but i am right

No indictment. Special prosecutor "Piepmeier said although Crawford did not break any laws, the officers were justified in taking the action they did.". The action referred to being shooting to kill. No tasers, no talking...shot in the back.

Be interesting to price all footage together and see what this guy did or didn't do. And did the cops give guy chance to respond ?
All this lets me know that even trained cops get it wrong so reason I don't want my neighbor defending me.
The video that I have seen so far shows no menacing gestures, just casually strolling around talking on his cellphone. There is no sound, and the video of the shooting is hard to make out as its a video of a video on projection screen, but he does not appear to be facing the cops at any point prior to the shooting.

There is the surveillance video. Not graphic. It appears to me he startled when shouted at, and then he is shot. Indisputable is the fact that he was not holding the weapon in a manner in which it could have been fired. Also indisputable is the fact that he was not menacing the Walmart as the 911 caller claimed, and the fact that officers gunned him down within mere seconds of encountering him. So sad that his life is gone and these people who are supposed to protect us are out there with their itchy trigger fingers itching away.

God "get of my lawn" father
i remember us brother made toy guns out of wood when we wanted to play war. our real guns were in the house. toy guns are not something i would give my kids. same with the shoot 'em up killing spree, war video games. my 5-10 yr old would not be playing machine gun bloody games on the 55 inch.
call me a strict dickhead all you want, but i am right
& godfather, seeing flesh on the tv is 227% better for us than watching all that violence. we need more boobs & johnson on the tube & less boom, boom your dead & torture scenes
"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
All this lets me know that even trained cops get it wrong so reason I don't want my neighbor defending me.

One Nation under God
has turned into
One Nation under the influence
of one drug
Television, the drug of the Nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V., it satellite links
our United States of unconciousness
Apathetic therapeutic and extremely addictive
the methadone metronome pumping out
a 150 channels 24 hours a day
you can flip through all of them
and still there's nothing worth watching
T.V. is the reason why less than ten percent of our
Nation reads books daily
Why most people think Central America
means Kansas
Socialism means unamerican
and Apartheid is a new headache remedy
absorbed in it's world it's so hard to find us
It shapes our minds the most
maybe the mother of our Nation
should remind us
that we're sitting to close to. . .
Television, the drug of the Nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V. is
the stomping ground for political candidates
Where bears in the woods
are chased by Grecian Formula'd
bald eagles
T.V. is mechanized politic's
remote control over the masses
co-sponsered by environmentally safe gases
watch for the PBS special
It's the perpetuation of the two party system
where image takes precedence over wisdom
Where sound bite politics are served to
the fastfood culture
Where straight teeth in your mouth
are more important than the words
that come out of it
Race baiting is the way to get selected
Willie Horton or
Will he not get elected on . . .
Television, the drug of the Nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V. is it the reflector or the director?
Does it imitate us or do we imitate it
Because a child watches 1500 murders before he's
twelve years old and we wonder how we've created
a Jason generation that learns to laugh
rather than abhor the horror
T.V. is the place where
armchair generals and quarterbacks can
experience first hand
the excitement of video warfare
as the theme song is sung in the background
Sugar sweet sitcoms
that leave us with a bad actor taste while
pop stars metamorphosize into soda pop stars
You saw the video
You heard the soundtrack
Well now go buy the soft drink
Well, the only cola that I support
would be a union C.O.L.A. (Cost of Living Allowance)
On Television.
Television, the drug of the Nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
Back again, "New and Improved",
we return to our irregularly programmed schedule
hidden cleverly between heavy breasted
beer and car commericals
CNN ESPN ABC TNT but mostly B.S.
Where oxymoronic language like
"virtually spotless" "fresh frozen"
"light yet filling" and "military intelligence"
have become standard
T.V. is the place where phrases are redefined
like "recession" to "necessary downturn"
"crude oil" on a beach to "mousse"
"Civilian death" to "collateral damages"
and being killed by your own Army
is now called "friendly fire"
T.V. is the place where the pursuit
of happiness has become the pursuit of trivia
Where toothpaste and cars have become sex objects
Where imagination is sucked out of children
by a cathode ray nipple
T.V. is the only wet nurse
that would create a cripple
Television, the drug of the Nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
On Television . . .
