    That pretty much clinches it for me. I'm going to start looking for London tickets.

    pegasus let us know if you got a reply from 10c. maybe I'll write and ask them too.
    and yes, the rumour is that there is a supporting band apart from LP and PJ.
    it is got to be a full PJ set though! I bought tickets to their concert and not some freaking festival!

  • I am looking to get a ticket for the gig, but i don't speak polish. Which one of the tickets is for standing? Probably the top one?(Płyta (miejsca stojące)

    I also can't believe it is being billed as a duo concert instead of Pearl Jam supported by LP.
    This is crap. Mind you if the doors open that early 3pm if i'm correct maybe LP will play early evening/late afternoon and be gone buy 7pm.

  • I'm just wondering where everyone is planning on staying after the Chorzow show. I've been looking into some hotels in Chorzow but they're booked. Does anyone know of hotels closer to the stadium. The one at the stadium and Hotel Skaut are already booked. Thanks!

    okay...i was thinking about the Linkin Park gig before the PJ show at Katowice...and was wondering if the decision share the bill was made to allow: one, enough time for PJ's gear (guitars and stuff) to get to the stadium; two, for PJ to use the sound system/lighting rig setup LP has because they couldn't get from Munich to Katowice in time to do a full stage setup. a what do you all think of this?

    PJ's gear has to be there before we go in.
    they need to soundcheck.
    they don't care much about lighting, see Reading, but many people commented on how fast the scene/rig went up in Pistoa...despite a much more difficult access (trucks don't go well in narrow streets ;))

    Well, I typed in 'Bratislava krakow katowice' in google and a bunch of train websites popped up. I'd play travel agent and do all your searching for you, but you're gonna have to give me a few more details on when you wanna get there and when you're leaving and whether you plan to book a hostel and etc etc etc.

    If you can trust an Aussie who's never ever been to Europe to do all this planning, anyway :)

    Not really. They just do it if it suits them.

  • I just booked a room at the Hotel Katowice... Does anyone know how far away it is from the stadium? I tried to look at it on a map, seems like from the center of Katowice to Chorzow is 4 miles maximum. I'm hoping this is a decent place to stay for a night.

    when they don't, likely to end up with crap sound...especially in a big open area.

    i know their lighting rigs are sparse...but it takes about 10 hours (non-stop driving) to get from Munich to Katowice. so say the Munich show ends at 11:30PM...they have to tear down their stage setup, pack it up, and go...how long would that take? an hour or two? so it's now maybe 1:30AM and they have ten hours to make it to Katowice without stopping (they have to refuel). its possible to make it, but i was trying to suggest other ideas as to why they have another fairly large band (at least a lot of Poles seem interested in seeing this band; LP) sharing the bill.

    that's all. see you all in Katowice!

    That's a good pick as far as the location is concerned. It's situated next to Spodek (PJ played 2000 shows in it). It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to get to Slaski Stadium by tramp.
  • Munich->Dusseldorf by plane 6h20-7h40 35€ (airberlin.com)
    Dusseldorf->Dortmund by bus or train

    Thk we made them pretty rich, so believe they got things doubled for cases like this... Those few guitars are taken on board of the plane with the boys.

    So anyway, are they really gonna play in that huge stadium where U2 played last year?
