might? dude, it's seriously the most ridiculous thing I can remember a politician ever saying. EVER. Stephen Hawking must be rolling in his space pod.

We just had about 800 out of 1200 students protest nonviolently in memory of the 17 people who lost their lives in the recent attack.  I would say the vast majority sat there in silence, pretty cool stuff.

    Yeah, no shit.
Trump's current plan is just more pandering to the NRA for fuck's sake. I mean, the NRA must be licking their chops over this one - it's like a dream come true for them.

the question is "need", not "can".

True.  In a bunch of countries it is mandatory to own a gun and mass shootings don't happen there either.

I don't have an answer as to why these things happen here but I wish someone would start studying it.

Really you think maybe that 5 to 10 million AR15's in circulation has anything to do with it ?

There are no countries that have mandatory gun ownership. I bet there are plenty of gun manufacturers who wish there were though, lol.

We will talk in circles like this thread normally does but handguns are the major cause of the deaths, so no.

Switzerland has more guns than people yet they don't have mass shootings.

There has to be more to it than just guns.

Assault ban from 1994-2004 did not decrease gun violence.  It did increase the prices of the guns and when it ended people went on spending sprees to buy more when they became legal to purchase again.

We should ban young men and young boys.  They are the ones doing all the killing.  No woman mass murderers.  We should at least do more studying and figure out "why".
