unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487I actually have offered a solution but none of you seems willing to respond.
I said to have a guard. I said that maybe there is a connection to a possible over medication of these kids.
The replies come back with well they'd be the first to get shot, how now I want a police state, how lets arm the pre-schoolers, how the teachers should teach, how we'd have kids going into a prison, etc.
You all suggest that the NRA is paying off politicians but won't even begin to acknowledge that the pharmaceutical industry could be doing the same thing.
Your solution is to ban a type of weapon. You celebrate these idiots that think they are going to save the world by destroying their own property. It is stupid.
You offer a gun ban, but you really aren't against guns. You tell me Trump is Hitler but want him to be the one in control of these guns. Why would I let Hitler disarm me?
I used to be member of the NRA but I quit some time ago. Why? Because the NRA doesn't fight for gun rights. If we had true gun rights we wouldn't need the NRA. I have personally been involved with gun rights groups that had the NRA working againat them. But none of you see that. The NRA only cares about the NRA. I wouldn't give them another dime.
Gun free zones kill. Signs don't work. Killers don't stop at signs. Ban this gun, doesn't matter, they still will kill if unchallenged. Have a guard there, they think twice. Have a guard there and maybe a spree stops sooner. I don't want to see people hurt. I believe in the NAP. It angers me that this happens but bad people do bad things.
We protect the President, your money at a bank, an airport, football games, power plants, chemical plants, personal property, train stations, etc with security.
We protect kids with signs. It is wrong.

Unsung, we have armed police in each one of the 13 schools in my district. The students don’t even realize they are there.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

You are assuming all anyone wants is a gun ban. not true. But it’s part of the solution. And I’m tired of people just completely ignoring it as a possibility.
people keep saying criminals don’t obey the law so it won’t help. Then do you lock your car? How about your house? Burglary is already against the law so why do you want other protections? It’s a dumbass argument.
1) Ban assault weapons
2) limit ammunition
3) increase funding for mental health (including a robust program in schools)
4) Beef up security in sensitive targets (like schools) with armed security guards and metal detection.
5) Recalibrate the gun culture —— this is difficult but must start. You aren’t tough if you have a gun, just like you aren’t y’all if you own stilts. I can come up with options here... but you won’t like them either
Despite what the talking heads tell you this problem isn’t that hard to understand and fix. It just takes the stomach to make it happen. And it takes time to have a large effect. But we can make some gains quickly if we actually choose to do ANYTHING.hippiemom = goodness0 -

I asked if anyone was willing to look into it as a possibility. This is why these threads are so tiring. Everything is argued, words twisted, I take time to make a reply and apparenlt asking a question now means I have irrefutable evidence to the point. No, that was why it was formed as a question.0

Seriously? You're solution to gun violence is to have a guard? Does everyone get a personal bodyguard? This is the best you have? Maybe let the adults sort this one out, you're embarrassing yourself.0 -

You get a safer society.
If you gave up your AR15 and one public mass shooting was erased from destiny's path... would you do it?"My brain's a good brain!"0 -

I don't even care if there is no ban on any gun as long as we lower mag capacity to 5. And then everything else not related to just gun control that's been mentioned. It's a hopeless situation...0
