and Paul and Heller desperately scrambling to distance themselves..... how perfect I think maybe all of those yeehaw Patriots "didn't have nothing to do" either wow
Again, does the federal government own the land or do we? Both entities can't own it.
... I hate to break the news to you... but, you are represented by the Federal Government. ... It sounds like you really need to take a high school class in U.S. Government 101... or at least, a refresher course. I say this because your question has been answered a bunch of times already. The United States Of America owns the land. This means, as a taxpayer, you have rights to use the land under the conditions set by the U.S. Bureau Of Land Management. It means, you need a permit to use the land for certain, agreed upon purposes. You cannot do whatever you want, just because you have a permit. Go back and read my analogies on campground usage. Mr. Bundy cannot claim that land as his own. That is something called, 'Private Ownership'. His past fees did not go towards purchasing the land... they went for grazing rights.

... You're welcome. You do not personally own the land... just like you do not personally own Yosemite or Yellowstone. But, you know... you are welcome to go to those park and camp there. Also, if you have 150 head of cattle and would like to use the Bunkerville parcel for grazing... you can. As long as you secure the proper permits and stay within the stated guidelines concerning grazing cattle.

I'm a firm believer that welfare keeps people poor.
it actually keeps them from dying of starvation, which paul ryan's budget is all too willing to do.
It also keeps them poor and dependent on people that want them that way so they will retain their vote.
People on welfare don't vote. Do agree welfare becomes a way of life which does decrease motivation and or realities of needing to work or be hungry. There's a balance.
who wants to bet that after today this story begins to go away and we never hear cliven bundy's name again??
everyone has abandoned him. even fox news is trying to distance from him now.
in a way, i kinda feel sorry for him.
he is not a smart man. i listened to his press conference live on sirius today. it was cringeworthy listening to him try to make his point AND try to keep all the right wing talking points straight. it was actually pretty pathetic. i felt guilty laughing at him as i was driving down the highway....

Anyone else following this? Seems to be looking like it could be another federal government standoff where they don't belong. I hope it doesn't turn into another Ruby Ridge or Waco massacre.
This was the original post.
It's been well established that, for several reasons, the federal government did belong there.
In determining this, it has been further established that Bundy was a greedy, disrespectful, racist, moron that in pursuit of profit for himself tried to cheat the federal government and, in turn, the American public.
If these aren't relevant... then what is the point of the thread?
.. You're correct. The point of the thread is whether or not a citizen can ignore the system of law in this country... a system that is outlined and built by our Constitution... based soley upon the belief that the person does not believe in the law because he/she does not like the law. That we should basically, leave trespassers alone... because they have been trespassing for the past 20 years or so.

And you continue to miss my entire point. I think I'm going to give up trying to explain why this action is wrong. Statists gonna state.
.. What? You have not explained to anyone on why this action b the government is wrong. All you have done is provide personal opinion on the matter or disagreed with what others are saying... including indisputable facts. I know that I have dispelled some of your arguements with factual data, including a complete timeline of events which have lead up to this point. ... Your original post: Anyone else following this? The government SHOULD be there to enforce a court ruling to evict someone who SHOULD NOT be there. The Stand Off is NOT on Mr. Bundy's property... it is on Government Land. The only reason why there was a threat of gun fire was because the Bundy Supporters had a bunch of guns on their side when park rangers and local law enforcement came to enforce a court order to confiscate his cattle from land that does not belong to him. The government came back in a larger force because it was met with the threat of gun fire. Even the dimmest of minds would have reasoned that if you use a show of force to thwart law enforcement... they will come back with a larger force. ... I will argue against my government when the government is wrong. I don't blindly oppose the government, nor do I blindly support it. This whole thing could have been easily averted if Mr. Bundy had only followed the law of the United States Of America. Agree or disagree with the law... it still remains, the law. In this specific case, the government is correct in enforcing the rule of law against a criminal who continually chooses to break the law.

Keep clinging to your pixie dust and wet dreams, that will serve you well in understanding the world around you. Facts are facts, something your posts lack.
There's probably a book in the works about how CB went from dodging taxes to becoming a rock star (in the generic sense- not as a musician) for his supporters. Clive, ol' boy, live it up dude because fame and infamy are short live in this world.

Apparantly you are not familiar with The S1W, the Apocalypse of 91,and the Terrordome project ....
I'm well acquainted with Public Enemy canon and yet I dont see Chuck D, Flavor Flav, or Professor Griff out on the frontlines defending people like Cliven Bundy.

Professer Griff has declared that they maintain a shadow network for the time being. After the noise had been brought, setbacks have occured. One does not simply call 911 these days.

that is what he should have done.
but i doubt that him leading off a campaign speech with "let me tell you one thing i know about the Negro" would yield many votes...
