    This was the original post.

    It's been well established that, for several reasons, the federal government did belong there.

    In determining this, it has been further established that Bundy was a greedy, disrespectful, racist, moron that in pursuit of profit for himself tried to cheat the federal government and, in turn, the American public.

    If these aren't relevant... then what is the point of the thread?

    You're correct. The point of the thread is whether or not a citizen can ignore the system of law in this country... a system that is outlined and built by our Constitution... based soley upon the belief that the person does not believe in the law because he/she does not like the law.
    That we should basically, leave trespassers alone... because they have been trespassing for the past 20 years or so.

    What? You have not explained to anyone on why this action b the government is wrong. All you have done is provide personal opinion on the matter or disagreed with what others are saying... including indisputable facts.     The government SHOULD be there to enforce a court ruling to evict someone who SHOULD NOT be there. The Stand Off is NOT on Mr. Bundy's property... it is on Government Land.
    The only reason why there was a threat of gun fire was because the Bundy Supporters had a bunch of guns on their side when park rangers and local law enforcement came to enforce a court order to confiscate his cattle from land that does not belong to him. The government came back in a larger force because it was met with the threat of gun fire. Even the dimmest of minds would have reasoned that if you use a show of force to thwart law enforcement... they will come back with a larger force.

    I will argue against my government when the government is wrong. I don't blindly oppose the government, nor do I blindly support it. This whole thing could have been easily averted if Mr. Bundy had only followed the law of the United States Of America. Agree or disagree with the law... it still remains, the law. In this specific case, the government is correct in enforcing the rule of law against a criminal who continually chooses to break the law.
