Pope week. Pretty fucking excited. Towing starts tonight. Looking forward to see how things play out. Very much hoping Philly represents well. I will definitely be walking/riding my bike around the city this week and next weekend. Going to walk up towards independence hall on saturday. Would like to hear that speech, don't mind watching on a screen, but looking forward to experiencing this. Not many people in the world get to experience something like this. I am the furthest thing from a religious person but I respect this guy a lot.

I mean, yeah, for sure, but we can't worry about that. They are going all out on security. Dude doesn't get in for 4/5 days and they are already towing cars.

It's fucking UN week in nyc this week too. that should be a shit show. Philly is his main stop though, which is all kinds of awesome

My wife works near the train station in Norristown and her employer basically implied that she should take a pto day on Friday because of all the impending traffic congestion. At my company we have a ton of people who commute from Jersey and many of them are planning on calling out which would make things incredibly busy for me. I'm not looking forward to this.

Yeah, people were already having trouble getting into center city today. People on my team who commute into the city are working from our KOP office until Thursday and then from home Friday/Monday. Someone that I work with sent me an article that included this gem

Expect total gridlock Rt422 from KOP to Pottstown. There will be port-a-potties, water stations and EMS at points along Rt422

That's insane. Very curious to see what happens and how many people show up.

That blows about people calling in. I don't mind any of this because I don't typically get in a car on the weekends to go anywhere, unless its golf, the grocery store or something along those lines. For the suburbs where you aren't even around any of it but there is tons of traffic kind of stinks. Will be curious to see how many people they scared off. Tons of hotel rooms available in center city.

That would make for a cool parking wars episode. Is that show still on? I'll be staying away from philly and new york this weekend.

i can't believe the Mets are pulling this shit with Harvey after it blew up on the Nats and Strasburg. Collins was pissed last night at having to take him out. it's just stupid and I can't believe these teams bow down to the wishes of Scott Boras.

I thought it came from Dr. James Andrews?

I just heard on the MLB Network that the Phillies extended Mackanin for 2016 with a option for 2017

everything I've read about it says that Boras told the Mets that Andrews said him to limit his inning but that Andrews has never publicly stated that to be true. who know what is true but it sure seems like Boras is most likely behind it.

I like bringing back Mackanin for next year.

No doctor, especially Andrews is going to put an innings limit on a baseball player, especially since there is no exact science behind it.

Just rode my bike down a completely closed parkway. Have never seen anything like it. They are building stuff up everywhere. From the art museum back to city hall. They are expecting a lot of people. Have never seen so many port a potties. Tents and food vendors being built he entire length too. It's insane. Like made in America times 472857

A line of a dozen tow trucks on 4th towing every parked car.

Bizarre riding your bike around a completely empty Eakins oval and parkway

The wife of a friend at work won a raffle at her church to attend the Pope's early mass on Sunday before the big one on the parkway. Pretty cool--only 600 people are attending that one.

That's pretty figgen cool. At the basilica, I assume? Everyone has been going to the knotted grotto

    Yeah it's at the Basilica

Back is better and I'm getting back out there on Saturday Cliff. You ever play Center Square? It's a hike for you, I guess...but for a public course it's really nice. Weather looks delicious on Saturday too. Can't wait.

Definitely getting out for a bike ride tonight, though. I can't pass up going down these empty streets.

Nice. I have not played it. Looks like a hike but I don't mind it for a good course. Will have to check it out. i'd like to get out this weekend, but with the wife getting back from a week Germany tomorrow and the pope and all, not terribly hopefuly

One of the coolest days of my life, and I have had some fucking fun. Made it on msnbc and got a glimpse of the pope. Interacted with people from all over the world. Assume no one gives a shit but I'll post pictures eventually

I am not a catholic, married a catholic in the church and I love this man.
