    Man, that show was awesome!!

They always BRING IT in PHILLY!

That was my fav show on this Tour and I've been fortunate to see quite a few shows on this Tour.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with for Night-2.

I'm sure you guys know, but the Phillies play with game time at 6:40. Plan accordingly if you're going to Night-2.
I am absolutely dreading the traffic. Gonna be awful.

I guess it all depends on what time you plan on being there. I'm leaving like around 1-2.
That's what I did( left just before 2) and I'm here now.

Wow, Night 2 for me was better than night 1. Heard a few songs I hadn't heard before including my white whale (Of the Girl). Was able to get a poster. Went inside and first merch table was sold out then I went to one of the smaller ones inside the bar and they had a handful left,

Also the person that was gonna buy my ticket bailed at the last minute so I put it back on TM fan 2 fan and it sold. Somehow the person who got it was a very pretty girl who was cool to talk to,. I think she was married though (looked like she had a ring on her ring finger. She was

That's my fucking band. What a great show and an awesome two nights.

I feel as if Ed just did not want to leave last night. Almost 3 hours has to be one of the longest of the tour.

STEVIE! Upper Hand! Both sounded great.

I think I was the only person near me who was fucking pumped for Dance and I might be coming around on the video board as that really played into the weirdness of that song. Loved it.

Anyone catch the Maxey jersey Jeff was wearing? It was a white Spectrum alternate--they had that blue one a couple years ago. Holy shit that was a thing of beauty. Hope they actually wear it this year.

Night 1 was better, for me, but I love the way some of the new tunes rock.  Stevie, Sacred of Fear, and Dark Matter all are better than most anything they could play live from their last 3 records, imo.
Sat in the club, Mike side, this time and was interesting to see Josh back there playing all different instruments and singing.

Last night gets big bonus for having people around that were having fun vs being too tanked to be anything other than alternately funny or weird.

(Previously shared about rhe werdo with shades on the whole night who annoyed everyone around him.  The woman at the other end of the row was enjoying herself until she smelled weed....then she went person by person all around her, slurring "do YOU have Marijuana?  I need Marijuana "  lol.  "SIR, are you the one smoking weed?  I cannot live without some weed?!  You'd share with me. Right?)
    That was pretty funny.

I don't know who was smoking but I think she struck out, which was good because it was barf time soon for her, by the look.

Klinghoffer playing Jack's tribal-y drums on In My Tree set my mind whirling. I'm a Jack guy 100%. Point blank. And that song rules but, like some other classics on those late 90 records never sounds exactly like they should live to me. That just hammered home my belief that Matt simply cannot do what Jack does/did.

In My Tree sounded unbelievable! So close to the studio! (I'm not one of those "the live song should sound like the studio version" people, but for In My Tree that probably is the goal.)

JP you really didn't snag a ticket and just show up at 8:30? Crazy.

Oh believe me I was thinking of it. I got done painting and the kids to bed by 8. There was a 124 row 4 just sitting there staring me in the face.

I don't know why I didn't scour the Philly Facebook page earlier because there was people offering up basically for free. That's on me.

But with that said, and I certainly don't want to yuck anyone's yum because I hate when people do that to me, I have to say I didn't have that much fomo. Not saying I don't like that setlist but, eh, I'm surprisingly ok today lol

Yeah, I've been thinking about this a good bit because of these shows. I feel like all the albums since basically after Avocado have really screwed with the flow of shows to some extent.

Gonna be really hard to hit 100 wins, but glad to see the Fightins using some depth and eeking out .600 ball. I need them to play competitive game until the Washington series, need to get that bye.

That sounds awesome but September/October has now turned into the most expensive time of the year apparently. Both kids' birthday parties, then every other kid in South Philly is having a birthday party. It is endless. Tempting tho!

Edit: forgot about the fucking baseball team that I will be spending a mint on as well.

Thank you. I get slammed for that opinion. Last four just HAVE NOT BEEN THAT GOOD. DM is probably the best of the bunch, but still.

  • Night 2 did have a choppy flow. Not sure it has much to do with the last 4 albums. DOTC was odd to the flow, but I want to see weird stuff. They barely play anything from Backspacer or LB - basically Just Breathe and MYM. If they threw in Quick Escape or Who Ever Said those songs would rock along with the cherished 90s songs. And yeah, Dark Matter is really fucking great, not their best album ever but it holds up. You STFU! (lol)

I'd say Gigaton and DM are the better of the last 4, and DM is their best of them. There is just something about these songs that changed the sound for the worse at a show. Always feel like a piss break song or just completely kills the momentum and mood of a show. But I get it, they're not going on some of these tours if it's not to tour the new albums. But I'd say Binaural & Riot Act are their most challenging, eclectic albums, but even those bring a great vibe to a show.

I dunno, I know this is just old men yelling at clouds about other old men playing music, but it's wild & bizarre to me how many people that have become fans like post-2010 and are mainly fans because of these newer albums. They just mostly feel like studio-only albums and just don't play that great live. And then on top of it they're competing for real estate in an even-more limited setlist space that pushes better stuff out.

I think the DM songs sounded great live. And 8 months later or whatever, I still feel as if that album would have held its own if it were released 20+ years ago. It's damn good.

Dance was weird...but I actually enjoyed the fact that most of the arena, outside of tenclubbers, didn't really know it. Made it seem weirder to me. One of the highlights of the show, strangely, imo.

More than half the crowd is there for the hits though and probably don't know much of DM or the last few records so that's likely a big factor to those songs feeling a little off I guess.
