    so what's the magic number?

as for ESPN does anyone like them showing the strike zone on the baseball broadcasts. Flipped it on the other night and it's annoying as hell to me. puts your focus too much on that part of the screen. not a fan of it.

espn is good for live games and that's pretty much it. I guess PTI isn't bad but the rest is utter crap.

Aren't the Braves still undefeated? Another nice comeback, above .500 now

Yeah i usually only watch ESPN only for live games maybe sportscenter and PTI (sometimes around the horn if i get home from work in time.

PTI encompasses all that's wrong with ESPN. kornheiser is so annoying and wilbon isn't much better

I agree with the unnecessary strike zone. I know what the zone is, I don't need a picture to show me.

    Espn is the worst

Possibly the worst thing I have ever seen...I am setting the over/under on hits off of scherzer at 3.5. If the over hits I will be absolutely shocked. He might have 20 K's today

now if the Phillies can get some offense we would be actually not too bad. Pitching has been pretty good I think so far.

Me at the beginning of my fantasy draft:
"Under no circumstances will I draft a Phillie this year"

Me about 20 minutes later after Utley hits his second HR in a spring training game:
"Don't do it. It's not 2009 anymore. I know you love him but DON'T DO IT."

Me in the late rounds....still needing a second baseman with a couple out there to be had:
"What has Neil Walker ever done for you? Utley brought the city a world FUCKING championship! Plus, won't it be fun to have something about the Phillies to cheer about? Even if the team sucks, Utley will have a good enough year to for a fantasy second baseman. He was healthy all year last year!

Sheesh I go on a little rant about Utley and he smacks two HRs. Nice.

I also am liking Ben Davis. And I never minded McCarthy (or Tits McGee as you say) so I'm happy with the announce team.

yeah, i could kind of be okay with stairs if it was in small doses like they did with sarge. maybe have him come in for the middle innings for some unintentional comedy relief. but ideally, franske and LA would be doing the games on tv. i'd be okay with them and add ben davis as a 3rd member for home games or something.

i don't know how many times i have said this before, but harry and whitey made the phils so much more enjoyable when they were garbage during my youth. being subjected to tits mcgree for every game in it's entirety (which they never let harry do) just adds insult to injury......not to mention hearing his dopey voice on random nfl games and even during the tourney last month. fucking hate that guy. he's everywhere, focker.

mccarthy is awful. every time he does that fake laugh (every 5 seconds) I want to puke. I actually don't mind him as a football announcer, but baseball is a much more difficult game to call...and mccarthy sucks at it

Glad to see fat boy finally moved out of the cleanup spot. Sandberg still got the order wrong though...not sure why francouer is on this team, let alone hitting fourth. Ruf should be in the 4 hole.

Not that any of this really matters because this team is a joke

pretty bad that they have 5 players that have played at least 10 games that are batting under .200 and Ryan Howard isn't the worst one!!!

    Howard- .167
    Revere-.158
    Sizemore- .136
Utley- .119 (funny thing is it would be worse if it wasn't for that one good game he had where he hit 2 homers)
    Ruf- .107

Pitching's been ok. Least they have a show at splitting the series with the Nats.

yes this team sucks bad but I don't recall ever having a stretch against this type of pitching. it's pretty crazy what they have had to face so far.

Anyone else try for those vedder/townshend tickets over the weekend? I was definitely interested until I pulled two tickets and saw the price was almost $1,100. Those tix were in the second level of a 4,500 seat venue...and that theater is a good 30-40 minute ride outside of chicago (I have been to that crappy toby keith bar that's near the venue for a work event...way out by O'Hare).

I'm all for paying good money for great seats...this one just not in the cards for me. Altogether my MMJ chicago trip -- including concert tix for three shows, flights, and downtown hotel -- cost less than $1,100.

End of May? Cubs get Bryant's extra year and he is up. Is that because Franco has already been up?
