All this dude wants to be is a contrarian. I hope you enjoy your parents' basement.
So this new format doesn't let me block him out like before. Damnit.
when you can't dispute the argument just lob an insult. classic move perfected by that other guy.
the logic of not allowing the winning run to get to 3rd (or 2nd) with less than 2 outs should be pretty clear but I guess some don't quite understand the game.
I saw that coming a mile away. Don't know why. Just had a bad feeling after that 0-2 hit by Beltre. And why did they have the infield in on that ball hit past Utley. Double-play depth all the way there. Fuck.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a team play in the infield in to cut off the tying run with 1st and 3rd and 1 out. completely mind boggling.
It was beyond brain-dead. Say Utley fields that ball. The runner on third could break towards home, draw a throw, and retreat back to third. Then it's bases loaded. I couldn't believe it.

It's not beyond brain dead. If, could, would, should - IF my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
Utley fields that ball, they go double play. The chances of getting that double play are slimmer with Martin at the plate. You go for two, which isn't even a routine play for a 2nd baseman there - as much as everyone would like to think - and now there's a more than 50/50 chance that the runner scores since you can't get the double play. The point is Sandberg didn't want the runner at 3rd to score. At all.
I'm not defending it, as I wouldn't have done it - but it does show how this guy's going to manage: like it's game 7 every game. It's not like he didn't think it through, as you see by multiple coaches barking out the infield depth. Where it was right or not doesn't matter - the point is it was more thought out than you would like to believe.
And at the heart of all this is a closer who let 6 of 7 hitters get on-base.

And yes, Cliff, Chromecast is the bee's knees.
I thought it was pretty dumb. That's an easy double-play if Utley's not in on the grass. But you're right about the true issue being Papelbon having no velocity and the fact that he doesn't seem to realize it.

Thankfully MLB screwing the Phils over with that botched replay didn't cost them the game. The catcher clearly was blocking the plate before he had the ball.
I dislike the rule and I dislike replay. What's the point of reviewing it if you get it wrong anyway? And then Sandberg can't argue it. Fucking stupid.

Says the biggest nfl fan around. They have been reviewing plays for years and get them wrong all the time. I hate the challenge system though. Just get it right and have someone in a booth or whatever buzz down if they are wrong. It will change over time. We are only 2 weeks in
so this Utley kid looks like a keeper. pretty solid start by him don't you say?
as I said before the season the collision rule is too complicated and is to open to interpretation. should have just made it 100% legal to run the catch over or 100% illegal. all these stupid interpretations like the play yesterday are just dumb. if you can't do what that guy did yesterday than the rule has gone way too far.
while I understand you want to get the call right and I don't mind replay in football for some reason it hasn't sat right with me in baseball yet. all these bang bang plays that are being reversed not really sure how I feel about that yet.

I've been trying to figure out how to activate it myself. I have FIOS and i've been thinking of calling, but they probably won't have a clue either.
Also, Chromecast, buy it now. Incredible.
Nothing in the MLB.tv FAQs on how to set it up
