Blue Angels flyover....would like to see how much that cost us.
Nothing additional. it’s part of their normal budget to do those type of flyovers
Well with the government giving out all of these loans/grants they should be cutting normal budget items that are unneeded. (Like any smart organization would) This seems obvious
Clay Travis is possibly the biggest douche nozzle in this country.
Two things can be true at the same time. It is much less deadly than originally thought. Pretty sure the Atlantic had that in February. While it has also killed 50k people in 60 days while shutting down the entire country.
agree on Clay Travis but found the numbers, if they are correct, to be quite interesting. If/when we determine who is dying and why they are dying then we can determine who can return to some sense of normalcy. nothing wrong with looking at the numbers. with the rate of infection of this virus and that it was here before we really knew it, have to think that a large portion of us have already been exposed to it.
I found it a good sign to hear today that major league baseball is looking at a June return in home ballparks. Trying to be as positive as possible that we will come out of this to some extent sooner rather than later.
also thought the Blue Angels was pretty cool today. Flew pretty close to my house in the 'burbs.
Yes, for sure, but that all comes to testing. And that tool is beating the drum to just reopen based on some random numbers without testing in place. My life is going to be a bit different until there is a vaccine. My mother in law basically checks the box on every comorbidity that makes this fatal. I watched most of the Super Bowl in the hospital as she had bad pneumonia, so if it turns out this thing got here a lot earlier than originally thought, that would be best case news for me. I am dying to get down to the shore, but I don't want to just be doing this again in a few months. Just don't be stupid about this basically. The more data the better but everyone seems to be cherry picking random studies/data to support their opinion.
I thought the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were super cool. Woke my daughter up early from her nap so she could see it as she likes planes. Every time they showed clips from it on the news the rest of the day, she would say "again!" and go to the door to see them again. Everyone was outside of their houses to see it and we got to see 3 passes including 1 long one as they went north to south down broad at the end. Was cool and yeah, this country spends so much unnecessary money, I don't see the big deal about doing something like this that got everyone excited at least for a few minutes.
Agree to disagree re:Jets and boners. No big deal, it is not real money anyway.
Glad y'all enjoyed it - being that it was out there it certainly should be something people enjoyed. As stated, I've always loved Jets as well.
Agree regarding the rushing to talk about this stuff....I hope sports are back as much as the next sports fanatic but I don't want it to be at the risk of people's lives
My company supports (largely) retail chains. I don't think they should be reopening, even though it hits us very hard to have them closed. I can look beyond a dollar today to see the need to stay closed until the facts become more clear and the scientists say it is safe.
Trump's buddy Fauci said he doesn't see sports coming back without widespread testing and rapid and dependable results being available. I'll go with that.
As far as concerts? The assholes holding the money should give it all back. (Or at least offer it )
And, yeah, Blue Angels was very cool and something to shake up the day (on an absolutely gorgeous day to be on our roof deck on top of that).
We can go on and on about how they get $70M in defense spending, or how we spend an insane amount on a defense budget in general that I would welcome with open arms in being cut in half at the very least. But that's tiresome.
My only issue with the Blue Angels is the irony that apparently a lot of people crowded up in public spaces (Art Museum, Penn's Landing, etc) to see the show. So wouldn't it be fucking poetic that these guys are putting on a show in support of medical workers, yet they may have just made these same workers jobs that much harder in about 14 days. Ha.
i don't think they flew by me (least i didn't hear or see them). I do remember going to an airshow in the mid-late 80's and seeing them though.

I was going to say, better money go to the Blue Angels than a war or weapons, but that's another conversation all together.
Oh and sounds like the Yankees and Phillies will be in the same division if this plan goes though. Will be interesting.
From what I heard I am very much looking forward to geographic alignment.
Yeah, I am all about this at least for this year even though I highly doubt I would go to a game in person even if they opened it up to fans.
No way. Gonna be a long time until I'm in a large crowd. All the dummies need to know that the assumption should be is that everyone has it, especially yourself. That's why we wear masks, to prevent ourselves from being the one transmitting it along.
I really, really wanna be at that ballpark so fucking bad, too.

I was thinking maybe they had some sort of contract where it would be up for a certain period of time? I'm sure it will be there once they come back as long as the world doesn't end before that happens.

Hey last year’s Super Bowl was entertaining, Juggler. I think your Eagles thread needs an updated title.
No, I don't think it was.
I know I'm biased but I think the Eagles Super Bowl win was more entertaining for most of the 4 quarters.
Mahomes was below average for most of the game. He was magic only late in the 4th quarter. Really the last 6-7 minutes of the game. It was 20-10 when KC scored with just over 6 minutes in the game to make it 20-17 SF. Jimmy G was below average for the whole game. Foles and Brady were so good in that game.

Yeah the Pats/Eagles was definitely the better the game of the two (one of the best SBs ever actually), but it's not like last year's wasn't an entertaining game.

Agreed on sports and all the points in general. We have friends that are like "we're over this". Don't be an idiot.
If the NBA testing very early is any indication, sports can get the tests they need though.
