Pono left China yesterday and is mirraculously scheduled for delivery in Baltimore tomorrow. Go figure.
Anyway, I've never owned a nice pair of headphones, but with my Pono coming tomorrow I think it's time to start somewhere. I've narrowed it down to the Sennheiser Momentum vs the Sony MDR-V6. I know, much different price points, but each seems to be the best bang for the buck at their respective price range. My question is, will I really be able to tell the difference between these two? Mostly listen to PJ and I'm not a huge basshead although I enjoy hearing Jeff's basslines.
Could they change on a daily basis like exchange rates?

I also asked if there would be a case number to reference for my support call, no number was created, so really my case doesn't exist and it sounds like Pono doesn't really care about the customer, but hopes we stick around and continue to dump money into their poorly supported and delayed product.
Did Time Warner cable recently lay off support staff that got rehired by Pono????

Bose are ok. They do a great job with their BRANDing. For the money I would go with some of the others that have been mentioned. I would recommend going into your local audio store and doing a comparision. Best Buy usually sells most of these mid-level models.

I do see now I did get a Support Ticket number when I sent them an email a week ago and got the auto response.
I guess my rep was just trying to get me off the phone and didn't want to create a case number or give it to me after telling me to just wait a few more weeks. She did convey she was just as upset as I was, but mainly because her day was full of calls from customers complaining about the orders not being shipped.
The blame was equally laid between UPS and their supplier in China by the CS rep, the message was there was nothing they could do about it and just hoped I would wait.
I hope Pono does well but so far it seems a little fly by night and like a lot of other failed start ups I have seen go by.

Fantastic customer service experience so far....I would have loved to have left a comment on the ticket in the comment field but since it was sent to me closed I am unable to update it. I am guessing this is the supervisor follow up I requested.

And why are they not shipping them out first to the earliest supporters (buyers)? Hell,I was backer #692 out of all the Pono's preordered (think there was over 13,000) and still haven't heard a fucking peep. People who have much higher numbers than I have gotten theirs already.Didnt I read that Pono said they were going to ship in the order they were placed? Or close to it? I suppose mine somehow is one of the 4,000 they recalled before going out and now I have even more time before it gets shipped. This has left with me with a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth,to say the least. In the grand scheme of things,it's just a speck,but doesn't mean I cano still be pretty perturbed about it. Ughhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

My brother and I are in the same boat as you. I think how they ship is entirely up to the manufacturer. It was stated early backers and LE pledges would get priority, but that hasn't happened.
So my brother, Dad, and I all pledged for PJ Ponos and my Mom pledged for a NY & CH Pono. My Dad got his on Monday. I actually ordered my PJ Pono first, but he did originally pledge earlier than me for a different one, then swtiched to a PJ pono. My brother is at the bottom as he got one when one came available after being sold out.
What really miffs me is that my Mom is getting her NY & CH Pono (a December order) tomorrow! Meanwhile I'm in the dark with a lot of others.
And yes, that's a lot of Ponos for a family. But when one bought one the other wanted one too.

Just talked to Brandon a supervisor on Support who said it could be as late as the first week of Dec before all orders are completed but hoped they would all be shipped by the end of Nov. So far they won't be doing anything to make up for the "delay" but they apparently had production issues that slowed things down with all the etchings he said.
Also he did admit that things got mess up with priorities for the limiteds vs the regulars so that didn't help matters. It sounded like they had more issues with the limiteds than they anticipated so they made a lot of the regulars in between.

There was a post by a supposed insider on the Kickstarter page that indicated a minor quality issue and that some had to be sent back to the factory.
I have mine so it's probably easier for me to say this, but be patient. After all, Pono is a start up with a fairly big vision. I'm actually surprised they got any out anywhere close to their original goal. Most Kickstarters are late or fail to deliver. Granted pono is not an ordinary project
I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.
