I just switched my pledge from the Foo Fighters to Pearl Jam.

Thank you to whomever jumped off the PJ pledge list.

I've been watching this and they actually just made $100,000 dollars in four hours. Pretty crazy.

So when it says the artist will preload their top two favorite albums, I'm assuming that means PJ's Pono comes with two PJ albums.

If that's the case, I bet it's Ten and Lightning Bolt.

If it's other artist, maybe The Who and The Ramones.

It will be two albums from that specific artist. It was a little confusing but they answered it in one of the updates. I seriously hope one of them is Binaural (best album and most suited for this, although PJ doesn't like it for some reason). Next would be No Code or Vitalogy. Really hoping it's not Ten and LB...

I just makes sense to promote your latest album and also supply your most popular album.

    With that said, I wouldn't mind PJ 20 and/or a Wrigley Boot.

Or if they go by sales figures, it would be Ten and VS.

Either way, my Pono will be filled with their entire catelog.

does this mean to hear pono versions of everything i already own i have to repurchase everything that i already own via pono?

that's just f'n silly imo. i remember super crazy audiophiles laughed that mp3's wouldn't rule the world. ha ha

$12 eggs or $18 for a new pono release or right click download....

the rich keep getting richer and i will eat my words if they offer new pono releases for $9.99 but it ain't gonna happen. sorry to break the news to ya.

You're not breaking news to anyone and no, you don't have to replace everything you own. If you want cd quality on a portable device, you can rip your old CDs and play them on Pono or you can keep stealing music in FLAC and put it on there. I agree, the cost of the Pono music via their store seems ridiculous. It might not get to $9.99 for a long time or ever but I hope it does get cheaper.

One great solution would be a free Pono download with vinyl purchase. Problem solved for me.

They've not specified; however, there's a pic of the Dave Matthews Band PONO on the Kickstarter page that only shows Dave's auto.

I was turned off by the "buy your music twice" aspect of this, but I'm thinking that if I ever get into needle-dropping, maybe it will be a cool way to take my record collection with me on the road. Anyone have any thoughts on whether that would offer any kind of advantage over just making CDs?
