Other bands you just don't "get"

I liked the first song I heard from Dinosaur Jr: "Never Bought It". Then I Spotified them and, while I liked the guitar work, I found I simply couldn't take the singer's voice. Can't help but thinking that maybe I'd have liked the songs if the band had a real vocalist.

I totally get Mumford. I think they are a fantastic group. Both albums were top notch in my book. It was refreshing and different. It reminded me how I felt when Under the Table and Dreaming came out. I was super into the Seattle thing, but at the same time it was good to hear something upbeat, spirited and a little more happy than Seattle. To me, the music felt like a big carnival and it started a music and concert experience that has lasted until today. I still see DMB at least once on every tour. And Mumford's records reminds me of the same feelings that I had back in 94/95 when that hit. They are totally different bands obviously, but more important is that they are totally different from what else is being played at the time.
