Settle down, sport. It's only my taste in music and I'm not trying to force it on anyone. If you like Robert Plant, congrats. I'm sure you dislike certain bands that I like but I'm not going to get butt-hurt over it
Definitely not butt hurt. Robert Plant is not for everyone. Neither is Eddie Vedder, or any other front man. Everyone has their own taste in music - that's what makes music so great.
I could even understand you saying that you're not really a fan of Led Zeppelin, but to say that the band is "ruined" and that they have a "few great songs" - you've got to be one in a million dude.
Led Zeppelin pumped out one of the most diverse, technically sound, passionate, compelling and heart stopping catalogues in any ten year period in the history of music. I think anyone that knows the difference between an electric guitar and an acoustic would tell you that they've listened to Led Zeppelin and that they are one of the greatest bands of all time.
Obviously you're not one of those people, and that's OK, but damn it really makes me wonder what the hell you DO like?0 -

make that two in a million. a girl I work with who is a massive music fan (her favourites are Soundgarden and Black Sabbath) has a healthy dislike for everything Zep. I'm not a huge fan of Zep (I was when I was a young lad before the 90's hit and blew my mind), and I can understand not liking any band, but saying she hates them (yes, she said that) I find odd. I mean, I don't like The Beatles, but I don't hate them.Gimli 1993

Dave Matthews Band
I just don't get it. I saw them live this year and was absolutely floored at the crowd. Nothing like a PJ concert at all.
When they actually played a song that I thought "Damn this would be something that could change my mind" about them I look around and literally 10% of the crowd around me was paying attention to the band. Then they played the rest of their set which is like the same song over and over.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

No, no. The 'butthurt' comment wasn't aimed at you. You removed the comment I was referring to; that person actually seemed pissed that someone would go against Led Zeppelin.
I know plenty of people who can't stand Led Zeppelin. I've even heard of them referred to as "the Nickelback of the '70s." Would I go that far? No. But I'll never back down from my hatred of Robert Plant. I don't care what anyone says, he's a goon. As for your guitar comment, I've played both, I play both, but you'll never hear me utter those words. There's no denying that they're one of the most popular, but I'll never consider them great.0 -
I bet you LOVE Bon Jovi and Dave Matthews Band. Who else would you listen to while taking the kids to soccer practice?
Obviously you don't know enough people... :-)
Traveling as much as I do there are two things that get the cougar crowd going in a bar and that's "pour some sugar on me" and Nickelback. Play that and see what happens...
Erm, no -- I think I know just the right number of people. Perhaps having a beer in your room while watching ESPN would be more enjoyable?
We are past the soccer stage, but the pre-game soundtrack always included Soul Coughing's "Super Bon Bon" and the Beastie Boys -- always.
Now that I am driving to rehearsals instead, we listen to Cake, PJ, the Beasties, Queen, and Beethoven cranked to 52.
Bon Jovi -- sheesh.
Thanks for having fun with this. :-)
Morrisey and the Smiths are two more. Don't get them either...0 -
Rush cant stand them."Is it just me or is common sense not that common anymore"0

Definitely Chili Peppers, I think they're my worst band in the world. I've never enjoyed a song of their's ever, Scar Tissue is probably the only one I can tolerate. All my favourite singers have stolen all of my best lines.0

ha sorry dude
I loved Radiohead, LOVED them up to Kid A, I just cant compute with anything after. I know people dig it, and all that and its a tired discussion but to me they fell into their asses. The Kid A record if it was their debut would never have even seen the light of day. anyway. I always felt it was the biggest waste of a band.
Arcade fire, again loved their first few records, and then bang......they went all weird.....the suburbs to me was a shocker, it bored me, and I heard the new one is all dancing and disco pop.......another shame....0 -

Paul, I couldn't agree with you more on Radiohead. Kid A had a couple of songs, but they lost me on that album. I saw them open up for R.E.M. In 1995 and they were incredible. The Bends was an incredible album.
I have a friend who use to be in the band Feeder and knows the guys and his view on the band is exactly the same as mine. Radiohead tries way too hard to be different and cool and it has completely affected their music in a bad way. Such a shame because Thome York has such a really cool voice.Pearl Jam - ST. Oh cool,. I enjoyed Feeders first tour a lot.....they seemed really tight and interesting.
Sadly I grew apart from them as they went a little mainstream
so I grew away from radiohead as they went weird and not mainstream
and the opposite with feeder
figure that one out LOL0 -
