Well this is my story. I have been a fan since 1994. My first show was in 2006 in Brisbane, Australia. I have seen them 12 times to date, including Amsterdam II last year and Buenes in 2011. Having seen them on three different continents it was always my dream to see them in their home country and in the amazing city of New York.

Last night was my best show by far. I mean this firstly from a musical perspective. The band was tops so was Eddie. So what if he fucked up the lyrics of Unthought. As a singer that can happen if you are singing a 34 song setlist over 3 hours!

Having travelled halfway around the world to see them in NYC was worth every cent spent and every mile covered.

Thank you Pearl Jam for an amazing night of music!

I will always treasure Brooklyn II until my dying day...

Didn't have a ticket until the last hour of the show, thank god. Was in section 207. The Barclays Center is a nice venue, but the design inside is pretty weird and confusing. One of the escalators wasn't working and was used as "stairs" and a lot of people started using it and it started going backwards then security came and told me not to use it. Started off kinda slow for me anyway accept for In Hiding. Things started picking up for me and by the encore I was pumped. :D

Highlights: In Hiding, Blood, Footsteps, All Those Yesterdays, Leaving Here, and Whipping. Also meeting more people at the pre party.

Was at both shows. Enjoyed the 1st one a bit more because my seats (off stubhub) were significantly better than my 10C reserved seats for last nights show. Back of the floor in row 15. Shit seats. If it wasn't for the screens I wouldn't have seen a thing and I'm 6'2" tall. Def won't be renewing my membership if that's the best the 10C can do. Will go stub hub going forward.

With that said, the band was on fire both nights. Ed's voice held up very well night 2. I just enjoyed the set list more first night. And for God's sake, I know Ed and the band LOVE Sirens to death and are ramming it down our throats but do they really need to play it 2 nights in a row at the same venue? Last night half my section went for beer/bathroom breaks during the songs, as did I. So I guess the songs good for something.

Highlights for me last night were Hail, Hail, Rats, Present Tense and All Those Yesterdays. Awesome.

If I was to sit down & write my dream set list, I don't think I could come up with one this good.

This was easily the best PJ show out of the 11 I've seen (5 white whales for me @ Brooklyn 2)

Otherwise, there's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said here......

    Bring on Hartford!!

I agree, Mike was definitely possessed. But in a fucking great/amazing way. :)

I was in 209 about fourth row from the top.

I was row 11. You going to Philly?

Tuesday I am. I actually had like two or three empty seats to my left in row 19.

Just an amazing show. 34 songs. Wow. And as a nice bonus it was my birthday, and twice ed said happy birthday to someone (not me obviously, but I can pretend and imagine...esp when the boots come out)

Happy Birthday, What a great birthday present!!!!
  • The past two night were two of the best of my life. I don't think I could have written a better set list if I tried.
There was such an energy that flowed through the crowd both nights, which made everything more surreal.

I never thought I would see Pearl Jam play a show a few blocks from where I grew up, it was awesome.

On night 2, Eddie gave a speech about being broken, and not trusting those who have never been broken. Anyone have video of this?

I will post some of the video I shot later tonight.

  • Last night was my fourth show ever and my first one as a 10c member - so happy to be part of this community now! I was in the pit and it was pretty much a religious experience and a highly effective therapy session. As everyone else has said, the energy last night was just off the charts. I was standing near McCready and he was definitely on another level - at one point I thought to myself that he was playing as if he were trying to seduce someone in the audience, haha - just really rocking with the youthful fervor of an aspiring rock star instead of a seasoned one.

I just bought a ticket for Hartford...will be up in the nosebleeds for it, but who cares!? I'm trying to keep my expectations low - after last night and Wrigley in July, I've been very spoiled!

29 shows and still seeing songs for the first time. Took a long time to get All Those Yesterday's (which a few chances scratched off set lists in the past) and it was unbelievable.

This band truly gets better and better every time I see them. And as many people said that was an A++ crowd last night. Brooklyn 1 was so good it's incredible that they could come out 24 hours later and step to the level they did.

    Cannot wait for Hartford!!!!

Loved the show - the band was great and I loved the set lists both nights, but the comparisons to 2010 MSG and/or 2009 Halloween Philly are a bit overblown. Not sure how you can call the crowd "amazing" unless you were on the floor, where it looked like it was rocking. Still too many people in the 200s giving no energy.

McCready was really in a zone Sat. too.

Looking forward to finally getting on the floor in Oregon next month.

My only show of the tour, and it was amazing. Ed sounded awesome; I'd say he sounded as good last night as the 2003 tour.

    Mike was on fire.

The crowd was really great as well. For instance, I've always liked In Hiding, but after experiencing the crowd reaction, and joining thousands of fans singing the chorus, it's now an all time favorite.

So many highlights, a truly special piece of what is turning out to be one great tour.

Thank you to everyone sharing vids and pics!

I'm still decompressing! I never check the setlist from the previous couple of nights on a tour, but overheard people talking about Crown of Thorns and I Am Mine from Friday night. My two holy grails. :( I was temporarily heartbroken. My best highlights:

Picked up my tix to see those beautiful words "floor seating" on them. Had to stop a Barclays employee to ask her if that really meant what I thought it did. Mike side. Noticed that a woman coming into my row was a coworker from many years ago. Pretty funny to run into someone like that out of a crowd of 18k people!

First time I've ever gotten to a show and posters weren't sold out yet! Didn't care for the art so didn't get one. I had wanted to grab some stickers to do a giveaway here but couldn't get any. Plenty of posters, no stickers. Go figure!

We were surrounded by lots of happy, well-mannered drunks. I have to say, it was heartwarming to see lots of male buddies at the show. Witnessed a LOT of "I love you man" hugging. :D

Blood: Unbelievable. Guy behind me must have repeated "Motherfucker!" about 25 times.

Unthought Known: Ed, I was singing the words without you!

Ed was right: Mike McFucking McCready!!! Running up those stairs!!! LOVE HIM!!!

Matt Fucking Cameron: I have no other words. He's amazing.

PORCH: Ed on those lamps was just the best ever. MUST GET A PIC OF THIS!

I think I secondhand smoked about 10 joints.

Barclays: $14.75 for a mixed drink? Are you fucking serious??? AND no Southern Comfort at the bar? WTF. I loved how the stands with the "Craft Beer" signs were selling Bud Light...

Oh, and ride on the 2 train back to Penn was highly amusing thanks to some epic-ly drunk 24-year-old boys.

THANK YOU, PEARL JAM!!!!!!! THANK YOU, 10C!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure words can express what an amazing time I had at these Bklyn shows. Had TM tix for night 1 in sec 221 row 14 and GA for night 2 thru the 10C drawing (278xxx), my 21st and 22nd shows. Night 2 was the closest I ever was since the Borgata shows, granted a MUCH smaller venue. So, I'll just be short and say that Fri and Sat were both overall awesome, unforgettable experiences. Night 1 was a great time up in the seats with my brother and some friends. Got to see Chloe/Crown and Sonic Reducer for the first time (was at MSG 1 '03 but missed those songs). Night 2... WOW.. even better, again with my bro in GA dead center about 20 ppl deep. We had a pretty good drunk going, rockin out all show... faked starting a pit a few times, just gently pushing and shoving but I think some around us were getting nervous lol. So, for any of you reading this - sorry, we were just kidding!! Thought all of the LB songs sounded great, esp Yellow Moon. Tremor Christ, Smile and Parting Ways are all still eluding me.. but hopefully next time. I'm very surprised Breath, Jeremy, I Got Shit, and to some extent, Leash were not played. In no way is that a complaint, just an observation!

Did not previously plan to, but am now debating Hartford and/or Baltimore....

How do you describe something that over the course of three full hours, 180 minutes of music, literally makes you speechless? Perhaps the best way to start is saying THANK YOU. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you PJ for delivering a show I will remember for the rest of my life. I've been so blessed to see so many shows, and so fortunate to be at memorable shows like Randall's Island night 2 '96, all four Philly Spectrum '09 shows, even front row for MSG 2 2010. This show was in the same stratosphere. Instant Classic? Uh, yes. If ever there was such a thing, last night was the definition.

I remember leaving Philly 3, 2009 and saying, there's no way it could ever be better than this. MSG 2 2010 I felt the same way, but without words to convey true feelings after the show to friends texting me from Australia, Seattle, Montana... Sometimes it's just hard to put into words... Last night ultimately became the same thing, but Ed's speech before Betterman may have been the best way to start... How many of us have friends that look at us like we're nuts for traveling and seeing the band multiple times on tour? Have you ever really been able to convey why we all feel so passionate about the music? I know I've tried for years, even with my wife, but they never really got it.

Ed's speech about so many of us being broken at some point, and getting ourselves fixed, together, over the years, deeply in debt to the music for helping daily along the way, year after year... That says it all. Even the message in the music, themes that have changed over the years, as we've all grown up. From the feeling of anger and immortality to now appreciation of life, happiness and mortality. This show covered the spectrum of all of this....but, BUT, with all of the energy and passion of a collective 17,005 piece band.

Some shows you end up remembering a couple songs, great shows, of course, but some songs stand out, and that's what you remember. Last night the ENTIRE show stands out. So many songs from my ideal setlist, and delivered with a punch. All energy, HIGH energy.

Pendulum, Wash, Nothingman - Great patient way to start with Ed sounding great. Lightning Bolt - I cannot wait to hear this version on the bootleg. Extended Mike solo. Just awesome. Last Exit is always great to hear, not played enough... In Hiding - LOVE this song, especially when you have an incredible crowd singing along. At this point, you just know, we are all in for something truly special. This show is only getting better. Sirens sounded very good too.

The run from Present Tensee - Rats - Immortality - State of Love and Trust - Once - Given To Fly - Betterman. In-f'ing-credible. Like a TKO. This ended the best first set I have ever seen. No question. Oh, the sound was fantastic the entire night.
Footsteps - Yellow Moon - All Those Yesterdays - Just perfect. (Disclaimer - I've been practically dying to hear Long Road. 0 for my last 54 shows now, so I was really hoping for Hard To Imagine and Long Road here. ...Not in the least bit disappointed.) The songs were played so tight, sound so good, it was a privilege to be in attendance.

Then Evolution - Go - Porch. Stone was SO into Porch. It's so great to see Stone into the music... Again - similar to the energy ending the first set. Go is my FAVORITE fast, heavy song. If, when, I ever get to 100 shows, if Ed asked for a song request, it would be Go. A very good friend had a similar experience at his 100th show in Poland - and he asked for Whipping. That's his Go. Well, we were there together and what starts the next set? Whipping. Squeeze Porch in between and we have our ultimate one-two combo. Followed by an intense version of Blood! Are you kidding? It's now pretty much unfair for anyone not in attendance.

Leaving Here was a pleasant surprise. We're now at 30 songs and just over 150 minutes of music. What do we get next? A solid, non rushed version of Black, with a great Mike solo. Then Alive, Rockin' and Yellow Ledbetter to close.

The ideal setlist... what are the songs that are the soundtrack to your life? For me - Release, Long Road, Oceans, Hard to Imagine, Nothingman, Go, In Hiding, Present Tense, Immortality, Once, I Got Id, Black, Blood, Alive, Given to Fly, and Fatal - all on mine, and I heard nearly all of them last night. Without question, one of the best concerts I have ever attended. If there was a way to surgically cut and sew in Release, Oceans, and Chloe/Crown of Thorns from night 1, and add in Long Road, Hard To Imagine, and Fatal, I'd have sworn I'd died and gone straight to heaven. I'll close the way I started, it's the only way I think appropriate. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

    terrific fanview.

Lets just say I had a "moment" in my life at night 2! It's been a longgggggggggg time since my inside shook at a show and I'm STILL vibrating from Brooklyn. Having breakfast yesterday, my girl looks at me and says,"what's wrong?" Cuz I had a stone face.....told her I'm still trying to dissect wtf I just witnessed!
Hey boys, you guys did something special at night 2, something that's got this fucktard all razzled! Bring on Philly tonight!!!!! And I'm gonna be on "god's side" too! Holyshit!!!!! 8-)
