why not work through the UN!? ... if Russia is going to get in the way - it's really no different than the US impeding the world's efforts in the Occupied Territories ... at the very least - it puts the case in front of the world and action isn't done unilaterally ...

in the end - we know US involvement is going to be decided based on factors outside of the humanitarian crisis ... it's about weapons sales, political instability and its goals in the region ...

The only positive scenario for a U.S. Strike against Syria is that no other country sides with Syria and Syria decides never to use chemical weapons. That, and for Republicans only... so President Obama has a war on his side of the ledger and they can complain about it. That's the only reason why Republicans are calling for war.

How is this for crazy? The United States is broke. We borrow 46 cents of every dollar spent in order to pay our bills. We borrow money from China, who opposes our intervention in Syria. So we are going to bomb Syria in order to help rebels who are backed from Al-Queda. Oh and we will probably borrow more money from China to accomplish this mission.

Me too...but we cant save the world without saving ourselves first. Man I see so much shit in my city that is fucked up and no one says anything. I see more people struggling to make ends meet...heck just to put food on the table. I ain't got nothing against people making a buck...but the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer. It doesn't matter anymore if you go to college and get an education. The 1 percent just want it all for them and fuck the rest of us. And now we are going to go and try to save people who aren't even Americans. Yes it is sad as shit but we got enough problems.
