I was in 421, directly in front of the fight but two rows up. It was ridiculous and the guy who punched the other guy is totally to blame but the guy who got punched also did absolutely nothing to calm the situation down.

The guy who threw the punch was probably in his late 20s, hispanic, in shape guy and the guy who got punched was probably in his late 40s, looked like someones Dad...he had told the hispanic guy to stop smoking multiple times, (there were people smoking all around us and smoking more than cigarettes so I'm unclear as to why he too such offense to this particular fan) but once the obviously drunk hispanic guy took offense to being repeatedly told to not smoke the older gentleman kept running his mouth and only escalating the situation, cursing at the guy and basically trying to be intimidating to him. I thought it was weird as he just looked like some out of shape Dad that was there with his friends and he did not look like the type to get all testosterone'd out and run his mouth at a confrontation.

Now, the guy DID NOT deserve to get punched in no way, shape or form. But he also completely mishandled the situation and should have, being the older, wiser gentleman simply walked away or at the very least attempted to calm the hispanic guy down instead of antagonizing him.

It was a highly shitty situation as the folks right behind us who we'd made friends with from Philly and STL had to get blood cleaned off their seats.

Long story short though...shitty situation and I hope that dude went to jail.

yep. i'm happy for people that love GA but i'm buying seats in a company suite or something if i see them play an arena. I'd rather be 200 feet away and comfortable at this point. My GA days are long over.

Sorry to hear this poor guys show got ruined be ause of some asshole. I was in section R and some guy behind me tried to pick a fight with me. They didn't even belong in those seats but moved there after the rain break. He was drunk and kept pushing his chair into mine because he was trying to make out with his girlfriend who only kept saying how hot Eddie was. They didnt know any songs and didn't have bracelets so they didn't belong there. I asked them nicely several times to please stop elbowing and hitting me with the seat. I am a 5'5" 50+ female and he was a younger 6' male. The last time I got elbowed in the head I asked him to please be careful and he started harassing me and calling me an f'n bitch and saying he was going to f' me up. I finally had enough and went and stood on the outer area of the field seats to watch the rest of the show. I didnt want to ruin anyone elses show so i didnt tell the guys sitting next to me he had threatened me. I will never again go to a stadium show. Almost ruined my whole evening.

You really should have notified security or something. Punk ass elitist kids don't need to keep running their mouths and getting away with it.

I'm sorry what should have been a happy memorable night was tarnished by some idiot.

I don't think I could have handled that...especially some dickhead talking like that to a woman. It makes my blood boil just thinking about it. I would have welcomed an ass kicking from some young punk, before I let him get away with talking to a woman like that. :-x

Oh you mean like the dirtbag standing on the ramp between levels pissing on to the people below while flipping the bird? Chicago must be an understanding town, a death would have occurred in the east.

Was walking up the ramp, told my friend to cover his beer because Wrigley was leaking (rain + old stadium, assumed it was bad drainage). At the top of the ramp I saw a bunch of people looking behind me in disgust, turned around to see that it was a dude pissing. Wished others warned people walking up the ramp, but luckily no one was splashed. Shameful shit.

At least some guy with laser-like aim was handed a beer and tossed it square in the sack.

Is it not illegal to smoke in public within the confines of Chicago? I know it's a concert and stuff happens, but it seems like there were a ton of people smoking like it was a Canadian show.

It's not illegal to smoke in public but it is illegal (or at least a rule that is heavily enforced) to smoke at Wrigley Field. I was waiting out the rain right outside the field and two cops came over and started screaming (and I mean screaming) at a gentleman for smoking. The cop grabbed the guys cigarette and threw it at him.

As far as douche bags...oh my god were there some idiots during the rain delay. The guy in front of me was purposely farting on the girl behind him because she asked him to get off her foot. (he was loaded, and was falling all over everyone). He thought it was hilarious. All of us managed to gradually push him back, but what a frickin ass.

I was pleasantly surprised by the great view from my seats in Section 30.

That is until this group of "frat bros" douchebags came over and proceeded to act like assholes the hole night, with one special guy (who I'll refer to as Slim Shady) trying to fight me all night after I refused to acknowledge his antics of acting like a 5-year old. Thankfully, his boys realized he was stepping over the line after I told them that they may all kick my ass as a group, but I'd put Slim Shady in the hospital before they were finished. Fucking assholes.

Then there's another dude who vomited all over the row behind him.

Followed by this loud obnoxious chick who got in everyone's face.

Music was awesome, but security was a joke.

the ga section near me was fine... and no one i talked to mentioned any douchebaggery... i don't think it was the rule but rather the exception

and my comment has nothing to do with those of you who are sharing these nightmarish stories... i believe you and i sympathize

I still don't understand and never have why people feel the overwhelming need to smoke (cigarettes or pot), or get stupid drunk, or stoned out of their gourd, or pick fights, or generally act like idiots when they go to concerts?

Some venues have a program in which you can report unruly patrons without leaving your seat or even saying anything to them. Even Wrigley field has one for the baseball games which may or may not have been operational during concerts....

    From the Chicagocubs.com website.....
Fan Text Messaging Number: For assistance during the game, fans can text 88019, Keyword "FAN" plus your issue and seating location. This option allows fans to discreetly alert event personnel of any fan services issues via text message during a game. You will receive a confirmation your message has been received. Standard message and data rates may apply.

    And another example...
    Unruly Fans Text Program

Report violent or unruly fans by texting the KFC Yum! enter. Text issues to 69050 with “KFC YUM” in the body of the text along with a section and seat number and the issue.

Reading this, I'd guess that there were more douchy-people incidents at Wrigley because of the stress of the rain delay. I was at home listening on the earth-cam and when the field was cleared and the wait got longer and longer I couldn't help but worry that there might be a riot. Here in Tampa, there was a riot in a situation like that.

Good on the majority of people that in Chicago at the PJ concert, there was NOT! But, I'd bet that jerks were more jerky because they were drinking and waiting and getting stressed... :geek:

It totally blows that so many people had such shitty experiences :( For my part, I was in section 425 and had a great experience. Sure there were people smoking (cigarettes and otherwise) which is annoying but from my experience at concerts, par for the course. There was an obnoxious drunk guy sitting next to my husband but his worst offense was being excited to be there and smoking. I would have liked more people in my section rocking it out the entire time like I was but not one person told me to stop my crappy off-key singing or to sit down like I've been told at other concerts. Had a good chat with a couple in front from Chicago who were trying to reassure the rest of us that most likely we would get a show but not sure how long since the curfew was at 11pm. I saw another couple with 2012 Europe tour shirts (both had the shut up and listen shirts) who were totally ROCKING - sorry I never chatted them up! After seeing PJ at Midtown in Atlanta last year and not having a good experience, I was really glad that this show was so amazing. Hot, exhausted and I did NOT have a good flight home at the crack of dawn Saturday morning but it was an amazing event. Sure wish we all had a good show
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

There were also a bunch of guys in section 239 that were trying to feel up my friend, who had a single ticket and was one of the only women over there. She ended up standing in one of the aisles to get away from them. Really made me angry.

I think the problem could be everyone think's it's their show and not our show. Some people drink too much at concerts and some of those people get out of line. Cigarette smokers(myself included) just need to get their nicotine. Pot smokers, for the most part are easy going. The younger guy next to me was smoking a bowl and asked me if I wanted a hit. I said "No, but thanks" and we continued to enjoy the show. Like someone said I can deal with you repeating yourself and even spilling your drink on me so you really shouldn't be pissed when I light a smoke. For the people who don't drink , smoke, or occasionally hit a joint Lighten Up you'll probably outlive us all. When it comes to public indecency and sexual assaults, that needs to go to the authorities. There are no excuses or tolerance for that. If the guy who was urinating on people woke up in jail facing assault charges, I don't think the judge will accept I was drunk as his defense. Frat boys trying to grope females, again, when you wake up in jail, face the music.
    Things were different then

I heard a lot of people complaining about doucheyness - and these 2 stories were beyond disgusting. I was lucky to be surrounded by cool people for the most part.
I am a smoker and not a drinker - i am glad no one complained about my cigarette smoke - i try to blow it up in the air (that's what she said) but i don't complain about hearing them say the same thing 5 times in a row or getting a little beer spilled on my foot so i think its all relative.

Same here. I didn't complain about a dude getting shoved into me and spilling his beer on me, cuz people's tempers were flaring and it was a bit ridiculous when the security wouldn't let us back on the field after the storm passed and the other side was letting people back along the side, just not to the seats/ga. When I was able to bum a smoke off of some guys I stayed in what became the 'smoking' section, and when I finally got my own back I stood to the side and blew the smoke straight up. No one complained to me, but some were talking about how there's no smoking allowed in there among themselves so i walked a little bit away from them. I am very careful about not letting my smoke get in other people's way, but at the same time I don't bitch when people's pot smoke gets in mine or when they stink from alcohol, spill their beer on me, or get drunk.

I can't even begin to fathom how that dude pissing on people got away with it. I can understand having to pee and being unable to get to the bathroom cuz it was nuts during the delay, but jesus find a corner! and punching someone in the face cuz they asked u not to smoke in their personal space? WTF? If I had gotten peed on, it would've been ww3.
