It's 2013 I'm always just surprised people still smoke. Two hens in front of me asked for a lighter, I told them I don't smoke. One of them preceded to catch an attitude saying she hoped I wouldn't tattle on her. I didn't but security saw her during the delay and told her to put it out, it was quite funny. People that do drugs, smoke and excessively drink at shows feel that rules don't apply to them. I smelled pot in the concession line for the first time."I'd like to thank all you mother fuckers. All you mother fuckers..." EV-10/03/050

I hate to break it to you but blowing smoke in the air does little. I can still smell the stench, and it burns my lungs and eyes. But hey, as long as you're comfortable, that's all that matters right- regardless of the rules. :nono:
And yes, I fucking hate it. I watched my mother die way before her time from smoking related illness.0 -
Wow! I hope that guy is alright.
While I'm glad the other guy got arrested....seems like a slap on the wrist. Shit like this pisses me off to no end.
I hope he was a 10c member and I hope they find out who this fucker is!0 -

Well that escalated quickly!
I will agree, this guy and these stories were in the minority, but still just appauling that this stuff happens at all...show some respect to your fellow concert goers! This could be the day0 -

I am sorry about your mom - and i understand that would make you hate cigarettes in general but to call me a self entitled douchebag because i have a cigarette at an outdoor event (rules or no rules) is extreme.
When 40,000 people get together there is bound to be some discomfort all around.
Clearly i should be more concerned with the people who have extremely sensitive eyes and lungs and, heaven forbid, don't want their clothes to stink after an outdoor concert in the summer.

Why is that not valid? Generally I don't think that wanting to be able to breath or see should be considered a luxury.0 -

Exactly mdmb, some people are far too sensitive to their surroundings, especially considering the raised tension levels during the "storm" break...fuck me sideways I nearly started smokin' myself... :fp:
On a similar note, on the way back to Scotland, one of the stewardesses on our flight asked us, well demanded, that no one on the plane was to open or consume any foodstuff containing nuts as there was some unfortunate soul on board with a "severe" nut allergy then proceeded to hand out packets of pretzels with the warning "may contain nuts" on it... :roll:0 -
My wife had the displeasure of witnessing the curfuffle and told me about it once I got back to my seat.
saw the perp getting led out on the first level while searching for merch.
Will read more of the thread when I have a chance. That I no longer give a fuck

The guy who threw the punch was probably in his late 20s, hispanic, in shape guy and the guy who got punched was probably in his late 40s, looked like someones Dad...he had told the hispanic guy to stop smoking multiple times, (there were people smoking all around us and smoking more than cigarettes so I'm unclear as to why he too such offense to this particular fan) but once the obviously drunk hispanic guy took offense to being repeatedly told to not smoke the older gentleman kept running his mouth and only escalating the situation, cursing at the guy and basically trying to be intimidating to him. I thought it was weird as he just looked like some out of shape Dad that was there with his friends and he did not look like the type to get all testosterone'd out and run his mouth at a confrontation.
Now, the guy DID NOT deserve to get punched in no way, shape or form. But he also completely mishandled the situation and should have, being the older, wiser gentleman simply walked away or at the very least attempted to calm the hispanic guy down instead of antagonizing him.
It was a highly shitty situation as the folks right behind us who we'd made friends with from Philly and STL had to get blood cleaned off their seats.
Long story short though...shitty situation and I hope that dude went to jail.
Has nobody mentioned the girl in that area being assaulted BEFORE the fight? I think thats more important.
