If God protects us where was he on 9/11? Where was he when the children were being slaughtered in Newtown? Where was he when countless children were being preyed upon by predatory priests? Where was he when the bombs went off on Boylston Street?
God does not protect us.___________________________________________

It sure does. And what is he doing working on the seventh day anyway? Isn't that his day off? No priorities with this guy.___________________________________________

" . . . and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
— II Corinthians 3:17
Without God, there is no America.
Thomas Jefferson stated in a tract in which he laid out the justifications for the American Revolution, "Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?"
Today, in the name of "equality" and "political correctness" the basic liberty to love and worship God — the God of the Holy Bible — is being undermined. A vocal minority has undertaken a mission to rewrite history and force all Americans to live in a society without the God of our forefathers and without the freedoms that they acknowledged and declared God granted us.
The god of our forefathers is not the god that fundamentalists worship today. Many of our founding fathers were either not religious, Ben Franklin was a deist, or were religious in name only, i.e., regular church attendance as a function of cultural expectations, like Thomas Jefferson. The only rewriting of history occurs by those who don't understand the religious and cultural times of the founding fathers. A good book on this very subject is "Faith of the Founding Fathers" by David Holmes.
http://www.amazon.com/Faiths-Founding-Fathers-David-Holmes/dp/0195300920
He does a fantastic job of explaining how the fundamentalist religions of this era are far different than the religous beliefs of people today espcially since many of the Protestant denominations that many follow today didn't even exist during this time.
Of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention, at least 51 belonged to orthodox Christian churches and expressed clear Christian convictions. These include 28 Anglicans, 8 Presbyterians, 7 Congregationalists, 2 Dutch Reformed, 2 Lutherans, 2 Methodists, and 2 Roman Catholics
Which means what? They followed the CULTURE of Christianity. Doesn't mean they abided by the religious beliefs. And I say again, the founding fathers were NOT fundamentalists and many were Christians in name only which only means they followed the culture of Christianity rather than Muslim or Jewish culture. Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

Our Military technology is great.. when we want to fight a war with Russia, China, Europe or Israel.
But, what about a place like Viet Nam? How did things in Somalia work out for us? What about Iraq and Afghanistan? Where low tech tactics are used against us... how did we fare?
Sure, we won every battle fought in those places... but, did we 'win'?

Cosmo all I can say is there are too many rules America follows during a war or fight to catch a terrorist
and if those rules are not followed to the letter or seemingly not followed our own people talk shit about our troops and 99.9% of the time they really have no idea what is going on...only what they think should have been done or what little the media tells us..or wants to tells us...or can tell us.
when I say 99.9 % have no idea I am not jabbing at anybody , it all comes down to we,you and I or them did not see and have do idea why a war started or how we got the info or who really gave it to us even the troops in the field know little more than us, that what is fed to us by the media.

What? You don't think those things happened? Sorry to burst your bubble, but Custer was a repulsive individual, who raped Indian women before murdering them, and was even despised by his own men. Not quite the Hollywood spin on things, I know, but if you pick up a factual history book on the subject you'll maybe learn the truth about that scumbag.0 -

Actually... I get a lot of information from military people... themselves. It comes with the territory when you work inside the machinery of the Military/Industrial complex. I work with men who actually WERE in Iraq and Afghanistan and witnessed what was/is going on over there on a first hand basis. Not just grunts on the ground... officers, too. I tend to take their word a truthful because they were there.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
