What? You don't think those things happened? Sorry to burst your bubble, but Custer was a repulsive individual, who raped Indian women before murdering them, and was even despised by his own men. Not quite the Hollywood spin on things, I know, but if you pick up a factual history book on the subject you'll maybe learn the truth about that scumbag.
that’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders

buffalo bill cody is literally placed as a hero. he murdered buffalo to starve Indians and wasn't he paid well for doing so? all in the name of the white man's governments & a little thing called freedom. which we all know well by now that they stole this land with a murderous hand.
youre kidding right? surely you must be... where and when is it that you think your country was founded? was it jamestown? or was it plymouth? which is more convenient for the paradigm that is the united states of america? which do you think your country was founded on... religious tolerence or captalism?? and why do you think so?

Cosmo all I can say is there are too many rules America follows during a war or fight to catch a terrorist
and if those rules are not followed to the letter or seemingly not followed our own people talk shit about our troops and 99.9% of the time they really have no idea what is going on...only what they think should have been done or what little the media tells us..or wants to tells us...or can tell us.
when I say 99.9 % have no idea I am not jabbing at anybody , it all comes down to we,you and I or them did not see and have do idea why a war started or how we got the info or who really gave it to us even the troops in the field know little more than us, that what is fed to us by the media.
Godfather.

Actually... I get a lot of information from military people... themselves. It comes with the territory when you work inside the machinery of the Military/Industrial complex. I work with men who actually WERE in Iraq and Afghanistan and witnessed what was/is going on over there on a first hand basis. Not just grunts on the ground... officers, too. I tend to take their word a truthful because they were there.

with no macho slanders or anti gun statements what do you think keeps our country free from military attacks or take overs, the simple answer is "military Tech" and the Men and Women who invent and serve.

The fact that you make sure you make war, very, far away from your shores. As for free from military attacks? Ahhhhh, Hawaii wasn't part of the country in the fourties? And if you are going to say that "they let it happen", please step up and put the 911 people in their place about how that was not an inside job. wink, wink, wink...
The real reason is because ALL of North America wouldn't let anything like that happen!

Yeah, after you posted that I thought maybe I was wrong. But the chiefs pictured are Geronimo, Sitting Bull, Numaga, Osceola, who had to begin protecting their homeland in 1492. And no need to apologize, because when I looked it up I learned about Chief Numaga, a 19th century Northern Paiute leader had the courage and the vision to counsel against war. Facing severe threats to his people by invading white forces, Numaga repeatedly chose peace. And Osceola, (Florida Seminoles) 1804 -1838. Sitting Bull has always been my favorite. I may have to find a book to read about him this summer. Thanks for the inspiration josevolution.

At what point in history was the U.S ever threatened with invasion? Answer = never. Therefore, who fought and died to protect your 'freedom'? I must have missed that.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A woman fired shots at three men attempting to break into her home, and one of the suspects was shot in the chest, police said.
"If you are in fear for your life, most definitely we want you to protect yourself so obviously she thought she was in fear for her life so she responded," Kansas City police Sgt. Marisa Barnes said. "I would consider her very lucky."
ONE. Every 4 to 8 years we have a peaceful transition of government. People in power leave voluntarily, and new people move in. Many world historians consider this a miracle.
TWO. We can travel from state-to-state whenever we want, without having to show a passport or papers of any kind. We can cross the whole country without interference. We take this for granted, but over the course of history, the FREEDOM we enjoy is unusual, and we should treasure it.
THREE. Anywhere you go in our country, you can go into a restaurant and be pretty confident that it is safe and sanitary. Why? Because every state has a Health Department that sees that restaurants live up to health standards, that’s why. So, some of our tax money really works, doesn’t it?
FOUR. We have a great collection of colleges and universities – the best in the world. Our universities do innovative research in physics, medicine, environmental studies, and technology. If knowledge eventually saves our world civilization, much of that knowledge will have been gained right here in the USA.
FIVE. Our civilization does best when there are frontiers. We have two frontiers left: the ocean depths and outer space. The USA is the world’s best space-faring nation. Right now we have a rover named “Curiosity” studying the planet Mars.
where do you get this shit man? And why do some Americans find it necessary to write it? like....did your mothers not teach you about humility and modesty?
All of that is off topic, save for #2, which actually mentions freedom.....and is total bullshit. You CAN'T move about your country freely. You can be stopped at a checkpoint, demanded to show ID for no reason, and detained indefinitely without charge. :fp:
There are countries in which that would be illegal............so I guess they must be more free than America.

Been out of the loop a bit this week so forgive me if this has already been covered in this thread but reading this I also hear the question turned around a bit: "With no macho slanders or anti gun statements what do you think has kept our country free from military attacks or take overs from within- what has kept it from becoming a police state like, say, South Africa was thirty years ago?"
