At least four career officials at the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency have retained lawyers or are in the process of doing so, as they prepare to provide sensitive information about the Benghazi attacks to Congress, Fox News has learned.

  • I don't know what is more annoying: Fox News' constant need for Benghazi shit or CNN's constant need for gun control crap.

Don't they have better things to talk about?

    nope.

benghazi is going to be what they use to try to discredit the president.

same thing the gop did with clinton.

There are a lot of people that care about this
the lies buy Obama, Rice, and Clinton. Why did they lie?
Where are the witness's to this?
Don't you think the media would interview at least one person that was there?
as they have with the people involved in the Boston bombing?
If Obama would have acted more Presidential about this instead of Campaigning the very next day we would at least been fool into thinking he cared.

  • Political Theater??? Tell that to the families of the Americans that were killed!!! I am sure they would like to know what happened in Benghazi.

most people here don't care because it's a turd in the dem's(obama/clinton) front yard and if they close their eyes maybe it will go away, if this had happened during bush's term they would be all up in it telling us he should be in jail for it.

nobody cares about this issue. consult the polling done after it happened. it is sad that it happened, but it is of no significance in our daily lives. the only people keeping this alive are tea partiers and republicans who are gonna try to hang anything around obama's neck.

give us a break. hillary clinton took responsibility for what happened, even though it was the republican congress and paul ryan that was responsible for cutting the budget for embassy security. if you don't believe me, look it up. this is something that people complaining about this seem to forget, or they purposely do not acknowledge it...

you are grandstanding and politicizing this event, even when the surviving members of the victims's families have asked that this not be used for political fodder. you are using 4 deaths for political gain.

I think the simple truth is that Obama's team was scrambling to skip past this issue because it was election time and admitting a terror attack occured under his watch would have damaged his campaign. And so it has turned into a political game. The GOP knew this was their hail mary chance to get back in the game so they went after it big time.

Interesting that Petraus got thrown under the bus as soon as the election was over and became the fall guy. Does anyone really think no one knew of his affair? An attractive lady has direct access to him for 6 months and the CIA doesn't know about this? Preposterous.

The Obama admin was able to play dumb, win the election, then throw Petraus to the wolves and walk away. All because of the word "terror" and the effect it could have on votes.

The GOP is making too big of an issue out of this and the Democrats are making too little of an issue out of this.

terrorist attacks happen on foreign soil much more often than on our soil. it is much more difficult for joe citizen to appreciate what happens when it is not in our country. that is why this does not matter to your average american. if they are not beat over the head with it via 24 hour news like in the case of boston they can't be bothered.

what about that idiot preacher in florida who burned the quran around that time? what about the guy that made the movie that allegedly sparked this? did anything happen to them?

That's the deadly combination of stupid meeting stupid. I don't consider drawing a cartoon to be a terror attack.

edit: didn't the movie guy get thrown in jail?

no but drawing a cartoon like muhammed with a bomb on his head is pretty much baiting the extremists and inviting a response, don't you think?

i think he did go to jail for something, but i have forgotten.

I pretty much agree with this.

Obama probably put it away to win the election, just like most GOP stopped background checks to save their asses in the next elections.

That's all politics is nowadays. I bet many President do this shit.

Bush did a lot of dumb shit, Fox just needs to shut up.

This is the basis of the interest in Benghazi (in a nutshell):
The Republican Party accuses the Obama administration of over-emphasizing the role of the video, 'Innocence of Muslims' after the Accountability Review Board found that it was, in fact, a premeditated attack by Islamist militants and took issue with the initial investigation and the response of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
    ...
Most of the people who are interested in Benghazi probably never heard of it and are Googling it right now to discover where in the world it is. The prime motivation is political partisanship. They see the people across the asile as the enemy, not the extremists who perpetrated the attacks.

the reason we saw interviews with those involved in the boston bombing ad nauseum is because there was an agenda. big bad terrorists... keep the people on edge.. keep them paranoid... keep the wounds seeping. it was a heinous act but did I need to see it EVERY time I looked at CNN? fuck no.. after a week I was praying for sports. but it certainly gave me a deeper look into the american psyche.
