Shooter Jennings. Great show. Son of the late great Waylon Jennings. Not by any means is he coat tailing it.
He is great. He is very creative. Album to album you never know what he is going to do next.
Song to song you never can guess what's next. He transitions during songs. He plays virtually every instrument.
A song can start out "out law" countryish, but then transition, and go out like a Pearl Jam song. Baleds, rockers, sense of humor too. With my favorite song on his lattest album. Gunslinger.
Better see him now befoure he gets expensive.
AmericanaramA (Ryan Bingham, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Bob Dylan) last night at Webster Bank Arena in CT.
Absolutely fantastic show and a great way to spend a Friday evening!
Ryan Bingham I only caught a couple song's worth, but I enjoyed it. My Morning Jacket hands down were most impressive for me. I've been wanting to see them for a few years now and DAMN they are one hell of a live band. Amazing and full of energy and just top-notch. Wilco are another really impressive live band, and this was the 3rd time I've seen them. Always a great time and solid show with them! Highlight was the Nels Cline "Impossible Germany" solo--unreal! Cool cover of "Waterloo Sunset" by The Kinks, too. Bob Dylan was, well...Dylan. I knew not to expect anything and I think that helped. I knew it was gonna be the 1/2 sung 1/2 mumbled stuff everyone talks about, and it was, but it was an honor to be in that man's presence hearing him sing his songs. To be able to say I've seen Bob Dylan is really really freaking cool. Loved when he brought out Jim James and Jeff Tweedy--only went to check out GA for a couple songs, glad it was during this collaboration. All Along The Watchtower was my highlight.
Wonderful night, wonderful show!

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience on July 24/13... They had an open date in between shows from Heart's Heartbreaker tour and played at Ottawa's NAC. Band is really good... Singer sounds like plant, guitarist nailed Page. loved the stories Bonham told about his dad. Highlights were When the Levee Breaks, Kashmir, No Quarter.
If you like Led Zep, go see this band. It was like listening to Celebration Day!

Foxygen/Thao & the Get Down Stay Down at Pier 84 in NYC: Been wanting to catch Thao for a little while now, and she didn't disappoint! Was really incredible. I'd 100% see her again! Totally loved her including a bit of "What's Your Fantasy?" by Ludacris into one of the songs! Foxygen was....interesting. Hands down weirdest stage banter I've ever heard. Wish they were more consistent overall and wish I enjoyed them more live.
The Gaslight Anthem at Irving Plaza in NYC: Really fantastic, fun show and great crowd. Gaslight are rock-solid live and my friend and I had the best time. Brian Fallon is one hell of a front man. As much as he rocks out, I could listen to him talk all day! Free poster at the end was pretty awesome, too!
Yay free shows!

I haven't been to a concert for ages!!! I'm the size of a small community at the moment too so I won't be going to any thing soon either. The last concert I saw was The Tea Party here in Adelaide, they were amazing!!!! Jeff Martin has certainly still got those magnificent............. vocals. :? :P

Beyonce at Barclays Center last night. Her voice is flawless, she is flawless. She makes it look so easy! Incredibly entertaining show from the amazing dancers to the kick-ass full all-female live band (with an awesome horns section too)! Crowd was one of the loudest, most enthusiastic I've ever been a part of, too. Top to bottom was going crazy, and was really cool to be able to see from the section I was in.
But of course, I also couldn't help but think how AMAZING it's gonna be to see PJ there back to back in a few months
