Agreed.  My favorite is actually Garage Days, but since it's covers, I will agree with Master.

kinda sucks when the pinnacle album you cut is only your second one.
Ride the Lightning is the 2nd album.

my bad. grew up on the era but didn't dive in til much later.. still their peak IMO
I love Ride the Lightning. Creeping Death and Fade to Black are my favourite Metallica tracks
Creeping Death without Jason screaming in the background is just half a song.
i loved the jason era, but cringed every time he sang backup....
new album "Cigarettes" out Spring 2025!

I dig him wearing Metallica merch, obviously influenced by Paul Stanley in the early 80s, and himself in turn influencing Stone Gossard for the Just Breathe live video from ACL.

Kinda painfully boring to my eardrums tonight, but I'm gonna stick out side 1.

I never listened to angel dust. I have a lot to explore with fnm. I hear it's one of their heavier ones. Sure I told this story already somewhere. Saw them three times. Twice in 89 or 90 opening for soundgarden and voivod. Voivid headlining! in a little nj club, city gardens. Nyc the Ritz. Then on their tour sol invictus at webster hall nyc.
I miss all that stuff. Who knew how lucky I was. Even in the last few years going solo to local shows was so important to my soul. I never felt alone with the power of music and being surrounded by like minded music fiends.

Voivod was pretty big back in the day. That cover of Astronomy Domine was awesome. Good Canadian metal!
Angel Dust is a great album. I hadn’t listened to it in over 25 years I bet. Of course I heard Easy and Midlife Crisis here and there.
I understand why a lot of fans who were into The Real Thing may not have liked it. It is certainly less accessible but I like that kind of music.
Therefore it really holds up well. No filler

Yes. Had that cd and they did play that song with a cool psychedelic screen thing in the back oozing around. They were very cool. I had a hot minute to talk to chris cornell about that show I saw. He told me he remembered it. He climbed the rafters at the club and kicked in the ceiling over my head! What a bad a.. life I led. It's not over yet. rip cc. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me. So nice after we talked.I was walking away and he reached out to shake my hand. Such a nice moment in my life. Take care all.

Will get there soon. Bud spun me meddle outside social distance spin jam the other night by the fire. owls screeching, foxes screaming, stars blazing. First time I really heard it. Killed me. So much to explore so little time. I'm an infant to so many bands. Getting there...

I’ve got this and Meddle on my “need” list. Some bands just have more great albums than others and it takes time to accumulate all the wax!

Nice. No janes in my collection yet. Got cassettes of ritual and porno for pyros. My car has a tape deck (and a wasted alternator as of today).
  • Jane’s rules. Ritual is magic. One of my favourite albums of all time. Definitely top 5. Three Days might be my favourite song
