reports are that there's a small chance that he escaped
I guess there is small chance he had time to prepare and conceal a getaway tunnel, but I'm somehow doubting it. This place is less than two hundred yards from where they found his burning vehicle which had a broken axel. That tells me he was straight improvising and somewhat desperate. Certainly not in control and ready to roll.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

The camera CNN is showing is zoomed in a bit and it looks like there is movement close to the cabin, I believe.

For him, yes, and I certainly feel for his family and friends who I am sure are in a complete state of shock, but I couldn't give two fucks what happens to this dude and I have no problem with him suffering more than the people he murdered did.

so he took two women hostage and held them in the cabin...they were discovered by the cleaning crew coming to clean the cabin!

also, the reporter who is on scene said that just after tear gas was shot into the cabin, he heard what sounded like a gunshot coming from the cabin...

That's wild. Then I assume they reported the truck stolen? Assuming it was theirs. Good timing before he got anywhere.

i assume he set fire to the cabin then as flames engulfed the inner structure of the cabin he then blew his brains out? that being the single gunshot folks heard

    Gotta imagine that's the assumption.

Okay. For me, anyone burning alive, no matter who they are, is horrific in all ways!

according to cbs news, a body was removed from the fire and it is dorner
  • Ya know, I am glad he can no longer kill o harm anyone.

But in a way, I feel bad he went through all that. If he believes the LAPD is corrupt, why not point it out in a logical and safe way instead of resulting to violence?

R.I.P. to all those he killed.

Yes, RIP.... for sure, he should have just been a normal.whistleblower (not that that is easy for a cop). I guess when you're a nut bar doing the right or reasonable thing doesn't seem appealing!

Yeah, I'm with you (and having mixed emotions on this too).

I think he tried in his way initiallly - and wasn't a "nut bar" until he felt pushed to that extreme.

That said, I've been thinking more about the lives he took than the one who took them.

Guessing a whole lot more is to come to the forefront on this.

I read this in the LA Times a couple days ago and I thought it really told a lot about the kind of guy he was. Like - really not somebody who should be a cop. Problems with authority, etc. When he was in training, "He thought the rules didn't apply to him."

Anyway, it's sad but I'm glad it's (hopefully) over and have they announced that they found his body yet?

according to this, no body has been identified or found. it says the building is still too hot for investigators to enter.

  • If the LAPD rethink the way they run the show, well he did his part whether you like the way he did it or not.

Edit: and if the basketball game can be prempted for OJ, how come the good ole U S of Eh, can't show a live feed of the shoot out in the wild, wild, west.

He thinks he is making a difference.
The blue line will forever be severed and a cultural change will be implanted. You have awoken a sleeping giant.

I am here to change and make policy. The culture of LAPD versus the community and honest/good officers needs to and will change. I am here to correct and calibrate your morale compasses to true north.
I hope he has succeeded and I wish he hadn't died.
