yeah, like that'd happen haha. I was half thinking to go but if its a bill like this, not so sure. Its a lot to spend and a lot of time to hear a short PJ set. But it would be nice to get out of the hellhole I live in, to some nice sunny temperate climate for a few days that time off year......

  • I find it highly unlikely that this will happen, but, trust me - if it does, it will be the gig of a lifetime for me. I've travelled 3000 miles to hear 4 songs and it was certainly worth it!

(and I absolutely hate know-it-alls,but in this case I HAVE to share with you guys)
The Hawaii trip for Pearl Jam IS on!! I just got confirmation from someone holding the tour itenary in his hand...he ceratinly knows what's up. I spoke to my crew friend on the road last weekend and he's meeting up with me in LA saturday when they roll in to town for the Forum shows here on Sun and Mon. I'll see what other news or info he can give me and I'll let you know what the plans are for Hawaii.

I don't think the debate is whether or not PJ is playing Hawaii...we all know they are....it was are they doing a joint show with U2.
That even your buddy with the itenerary can't know yet.

Here's what we need to know -- WHAT DAY ARE PEARL JAM SCHEDULED TO PLAY?? If it's Dec. 9 then it is most likely with U2!

How could they add pj to a sold out show?

After seeing them with TP, it sucked to go to a show PJ played with another headlining band. I've been waiting for a Hawaii show and I'll be bummed to see U2 for a full set and then maybe an hour of PJ. Don't get me wrong.....I'll take what I can get and will be going to Hawaii regardless, but I was hoping for JUST Pearl Jam. WOW....I sound like a spoiled bitch over here. ;)
We’ll meet again, but not yet…not yet.

SURE!! I will absolutely find out by this sat night and relay any info i get to YoU :)
  • FYI -- The original U2 show (which was supposed to have been April 8) NEVER did sell out. (Rock concerts just don't seem to be a priority in Hawaii.)

This being said, I'm still not convinced that PJ and U2 will play the same bill. It could very well be that PJ plays a different night in the same week. At any rate it appears that Hawaii will be the place to be in December!
  • i already have tickets to the U2 show, been waiting forever for the new date to be announced, had the trip booked for April when it was cancelled. (the Dec. 9th date has been the latest rumor for a while now) i HIGHLY doubt this will happen, but oh my lord...if it did i think i might have a heart attack from excitment, my two favorite bands, by far, on one show.
  • What's the latest? Anyone?

Also my 2 favorite bands. The only fan clubs I've ever belonged to, well except Donny Osmond when I was seven so I don't think that counts. Why now? I'm broker than broke. My daughter can have a good career w/o a college education, right?

Rumor: Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon for Hawaii The new issue of Rolling Stone magazine has the following not-so-blind item about postponed U2 Hawaiian tour in its "Smoking Section": You didn't hear it from us, but book a trip ASAP for the Aloha State in early December for a year-end blowout featuring KOL [Kings of Leon], Pearl Jam and (most likely) a Certain Band from Ireland.

U2 has yet to reshedule that part of the tour, or at least that I hear.

U2 web site has no resheduled dates, it would not surprise me if the tour is over for 2006, and maybe they reshedule in 2007.

Bono has already said in an interview on Aussie TV that they'd be back there in November, so thats a pretty good sign the dates will happen. a post on their official site said the news will come within the next few wks.

What?! Perspective, my friend... How can you say that seeing Pearl Jam and Petty together "sucked?!" True, it may not have been the best PJ show you've ever seen, but c'mon... If you went to a local bar and saw Pearl Jam open up for an unkown local band, you wouldn't complain about how short their setlist was.

I guess all I'm saying is that the Petty shows (Summerfest) opened my eyes a bit... you have to take the whole night in totality and not worry about PJ's set being short. If you had limited funds I could see how you'd probably rather see them twice alone than once with Petty -- I'll give you that. But all other things considered, there was nothing at all that sucked about Pearl Jam co-headlining.... and (to get it back on topic), certainly nothing that would suck about Pearl Jam co-headlining with U2 in Hawaii.

    But that's just me...

I highly doubt PJ will play with U2 here

I can't see them being added on to this
