Rumor: Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon for Hawaii The new issue of Rolling Stone magazine has the following not-so-blind item about postponed U2 Hawaiian tour in its "Smoking Section": You didn't hear it from us, but book a trip ASAP for the Aloha State in early December for a year-end blowout featuring KOL [Kings of Leon], Pearl Jam and (most likely) a Certain Band from Ireland.

good point because it's U2's last show of the Vertigo tour so they will be on for at least 2 hours.
  • Maybe a bit of a Euro-type half day festival???
  • A triple bill perhaps???

Oh shit don't tease me!!!! I'd have to max my CC for that!!!

I think it is pretty close to confirmation on PJ in HAwaii later this year... so as cool as it would be to see U2 I am not sure if I would rather a lower price/more PJ or a chance to see both amazing bands on the same bill????

The rumoured date seems to be 9 December. Not that I have a chance in hell of being there myself.

went to 3 vertigo tour shows this year u2 played over 2 hours each night normally between 2:15 and 2:30!

this would be an amazing show! any idea when we might find out if this is true?
  • I hope Pj does there own show. I already have GA field tickets for the U2 show. However, id rather see them each do full shows (maybe back to back nights)

The tickets for the U2 show (rumored to be) Dec. 9th have already been put on sale when the original concert was planned for April 8. That show (and the last 3 weeks of their tour) was postponed in early MArch. The GA field tickets were priced about $50 ($60 with ticketbastard fees) Quite affordable if concert going is one of your hobbies. U2 fans have been told to hold onto their tickets and to use them for the rescheduled date.

If this does pan out (and I think that it will) it will be interesting to see how 10C will handle the fan ticket sales...

well KOL did open for U2 last year and they are playing with PJ in Australia this year so it sounds like a possible line-up. Man that would be the best gig ever and I'm not even a U2 fan by any stretch.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl

ok here is what is not making sense to me....
someone posted above that U2 fans wer told to hang onto thier tix to be honoured at the rescheduled date correct??
if that is the case and if U2 is playing the same venue, and its either sold out or close to....
that is not going to leave alot of extra tix for PJ of the general public to buy, let alone the Ten Club to sell...
and since the band has not been to Hawaii for a long time... i don't see the Ten Club stiffing ppl like this...

maybe they are working something out or are just going to be in the same area at the same time ala U2 and PJ in Toronto/Southern Ontario last year...

    anyway just my thoughts!

it would be awesome if it were actually true though!

there was always a rumor that u2 wanted to add another show in april before the tour was postponed so im assuming this might be what thats about! however if its the vertigo tour set up (which i assume it is) the floor is all GA seats so it will be interesting to see if its true what the 10 club does or doesnt do!
