where are your confidence levels heading into this one? mine is not very high. i think they will still struggle to run against that d with the banged up line....and i'm concerned about the pass rush up the middle against molk. still don't have kendricks back and davis is playing so i feel like he could have a big game. pass rush needs to show me something. combine all that with the niners absolutely needing to win this game and i just see this one as a 10-14 point loss.

prove me wrong birds!!!! prove me wrong!

i'm actually pretty confident in this game. I think we win pretty easily (which of course means we will lose :)) ) not necessarily a blowout but maybe like a 27-13 win.

if they win 27-13, this town is going to go bonkers! you'd think they would have a realistic shot at 6-0 by the bye week if they pull it out today.

realty tough spot for Birds today. coming off physical division game, having to go cross country to play what is supposed to be a good team in an almost must win situation. would be a great win but I don't see it either. I think D gets torched today. say 42-30 San Fran

for some reason the lions picked up alex henery. he just missed a 52 yarder by about 700 yards.

would've liked a run at the goal line there, but jesus h, that o line had a rougher day than i thought they would. can't win against good teams if you cannot run the ball even a little bit. thankfully lane is back next week.

tougher game to watch than i wanted it to be. San Fran's defense was great. Our O-line needs major help. Defense played ok.

can't run the ball on 3rd down there, need to preserve the clock and not have to use a timeout. saved about 30 seconds for when you got the ball back. throwing on 3rd was the right call just a bad play. on 4th I think if Foles waited another 1/2 second Cooper was coming open.

disastrous penalty on the punt return and absolutely no reason for it as Sproles was already boxed in. just a dumb penalty by Fletcher.

I know the o-line stinks right now but the best running back in the league has to be better to. need a few more 3 and 4 yard gains and a lot less 1 yard gains. it isn't all the offensive line's fault.

stupid move by Chip Kelly taking the penalty after a failed 3rd down by SF. give the fg attempt and give yourself more time. a td ends the game there. why give them another play? luckily d came up big after Kaepernick's 3rd down run after taking the penalty.

not an unexpected loss but a little disheartening with the way the offense played. beat St. Louis and take the Giants out before the bye and will be sitting pretty.

  • Chip was horrible in this game. Why give the an extra play? When the def was obviously gassed. Foles was bad but man the dude was getting clobbered every drop back. Next week with Lane coming back is a step in the correct direction.

yeah this and that minnesota game last year are probably his worst called games.

i hope to god i am wrong, and it's gotta be because the line is so banged up, but i kinda, sorta feel as if shady is juust a half step slower right now. maybe the turf toe is lingering...

It was a bad penalty called on Fletcher but I don't think he touched him. Shady hasn't been right since he took that hit to the head v. Wash. Sproles should be a little more involved and Foles is missing too many throws. Cooper drops Foles' best throw of the day that could've been the game winner.

only 6 teams in the league are more than 1 game back in the loss column. after 4 games you gotta be pretty bad to be 2 or more games out.

man what a strange season this has been so far. watching the specials teams these days is l;iek watching college team. shocking to see an NFL team with so many special teams TDs in such a short period of time. fun to see. as for the rest well take the win and move onto next week. obviously lots to get better with this team but take the accumulation of wins so far.

question to kind of stir the pot a bit though: for all the commentators and fans (not just here many I know personally as well) who insist that you have to run the ball (even when running game is not going well) because without running the ball defenses would be able to key on the passing game and tee off on your quarterback, how do you reconcile that theory when things like today happen? a basically bad NFL team threw the ball on 22 of 24 plays at the end and went down the field fairly easily. is it something you just completely ignore because it doesn't jive with your theory or do you have some logical explanation for why teams who get into that situation seem to move the ball down the field at will? curious to know what answers I'd get If any.
  • JK_LivinJK_Livin South Jersey Posts: 7,365
I think it was a perfect storm situation, up 27,D backs off, a turnover and they still couldn't get it done. So much has to go right for the trailing team. Look at the Bills v. Oilers playoff game as an example.

I was in the car for the end of the game but could Copper have stayed in bounds on the last drive? If so, he's a dumb ass.

    Ced should've had 2 td's.

didn't think it was possible for someone to miss 3 field goals indoors.

and Juggler I'm sure you are going to think I'm crazy but I think there is about a 20% chance the Eagles win more game than the Sixers this year. that training camp roster for the Sixers is putrid.
