That said, when I found out, yeah, I was disappointed. Not because I didn't get to dunk on MAGA; I wasn't going to do that anyway but because I knew what the reaction would be; maybe even an executive order. If I lost a loved-one in such a tragedy, I don't think I'd care what kind of person pulled the trigger. But the bigger-picture reality for someone detached from the even (as I am even though I am in Minnesota) does lead to potential ramifications.

I never said there’s no difference.tbergs said:
Yes, but you can't marginalize a white male, not yet anyway even though many seem to think they are. The difference is conservative and religious groups will use this as an opportunity to lash out at the Trans community and actually pass laws/EOs and other policies to further ostracize and/or criminalize them just for being trans.mace1229 said:

I find it difficult to understand people who don't see the difference between attacking a majority social class suspect as opposed to a minority class suspect. It's been happening for centuries. It was getting better until we elected a fascist bigot and empowered the far right to weaponize every aspect of humanity they disagree* with.
*Besides pedophiles, white collar crime, fraud, bribery, gun violence, child murder, etc....Just commenting on the responses that say people are quick to point fingers when it’s a minority group. They’re pretty quick to point fingers when it’s not too.0 -
I mean, everyone here is saying this was wrong and gross and tragic. What more should we be saying?DE4173 said:My point is each side here is silent when it involves their own side.

My biggest takeaway is that this persons brain was broken by the internet.

Welcome to reality. Most peoples brains are broken by the internet. They listen to these garbage political personalities who spew nothing but hate towards the other side. There’s plenty of these personalities on both sides of the political spectrum. It’s disgusting. A common theme among active shooters, hatred of certain, if not all social classes they are not a part of. Empathy, patience and understanding are aspects of humanity they don't understand.Gern Blansten said:This shooter hated everyone, blacks, hispanics, jews....he was just a giant assholeIt's a hopeless situation...0 -

I don't know, Obama had 8 years and no major legislation or changes occurred. I get that there wasn't bipartisan support on restrictions, but they had the first 2 years to get it done.Gern Blansten said:

I think the real problem are American citizens. If the majority wanted something to change they would hold their state and local officials accountable until it happened. Until then, politicians will back what their constituents support as well as who gives them more money, the gun lobby. It's a hopeless situation...0 -

I agree. You would think there would be non-stop protests, but maybe it's easier to post on social media and a band's message board than do anything meaningful.

Yea. They are. They spew hatred towards the other side and make everyone hate each other. Just to be clear I’m talking about loudmouths who make a living off of fear and hatred on streams, social media or podcasts. I’m not talking about politicians or the actual two parties. Theres plenty out there who are left or right. You might not be aware of them but they exist.Tim Simmons said:

The people that commit these acts have serious mental health issues. No matter how they identify, their race or ethnicity. Of course the anti-trans people will use this. That is what we do in America. When something happens that supports our position, we get on a soapbox and tried to get paid for it. No matter how discriminatory or divisive that position may be.Gern Blansten said:This shooter hated everyone, blacks, hispanics, jews....he was just a giant asshole0 -

I can't even say that the majority of the right knows what the fuck they are fighting for other than whatever trump wants which is pathetic. He is ripping the rug out from underneath them and they are applauding it.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)
