Windows are frozen shut and the ice is thick enough that I cannot just bump it off. Might have to get a heat gun.
Do not use heat gun on the glass it will crack!
I know, but it is really thick and probably seeping down below the windows into the bricks. I will probably do nothing LOL and blame it on the HOA for the crappy gutters they installed. Hopefully nothing too bad.

It is what it is. Every few years we have a significant weather event. Snow, heat, hurricanes, but his has been one of the harshest winters in a long time.
I remember Chicago winter of 78/79 in detail.
Over 80 inches of snow total for the Winter.
I remember the city being crippled. Fucking crazy. After a 20 inch snowfall the temperatures plummeted. That snow was on the streets until March/April.

That was 2015 for us (78 was awful as well, the world-famous Blizzard of 78).
In 2015 we had over 100 inches of snow for the winter (almost none in December if I recall, it all came in January and February, just one storm after another) and had about a 40 day stretch where the temperature never got above freezing (that's 32 F for our Canadian friend LOL). With each new snowfall, you had nowhere to put it, the snow mounds just got higher and higher and higher. The past 2 days reminded me of that winter, another aspect of that winter was Patriots 28, Seahawks 24 in SB 49, looking for a repeat.

  • Feels like -32 C (that’s-26 for the only country on the planet-besides Liberia and Myanmar-that uses imperial 😂)
    That's a little chilly!!!
Dont go outside. Unless its to go get more booze.

One of the most extreme temperatures fluctuations between seasons on earth. Coldest winter temperatures can get-50 C warmest in summer can be +40.

I keep trying to convince my wife we need to get the fuck out of here when we retire. She doesn’t want to. Do people get divorced for irreconcilable geographical differences? 😂
Where do YOU want to retire?
    What's your ideal retirement destination?
interior of British Columbia or somewhere in Europe.
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

    I once told her....
    Let's retire in Italy!
And then we looked at the health insurance situation.
And that was the end of that.

I mean it can be done, but one has to become a permanent resident, which takes 10 years if I remember correctly.
My medicare is excepted in Puerto Rico. But im not retiring there. Hahaha

It's been amazing in Vancouver lately. For days it's been cool (6C in the days) and sunny - perfect weather IMO. It's just now turning to cloudy and much warmer today, soon to start raining again with 12C-ish daytime temps, warm 7C nights.

In the surrounding towns the y have begun to remove the mountains of snow on the side of the road with front end loaders and dumptrucks.

In one of the parking lots in Long Beach the snow is piled 15 feet high.  I need to take pics of it.

The snow is going nowhere anytime soon.  We have people complaining on the local FB pages about parking and that if you, or I , shovel out a spot then I , or you, are entitled to that very spot when you leave and come back.  Like the spot should remain vacant, lol.

Yeah not sure how folks deal with that! Those streets where everyone parks on the street is crazy, I have a driveway here on the island and my house up in Vermont has a big driveway that I have a local man clear for me

I live on a block where most of the people are transplants.  Maybe a third of them shoveled their walkways.

If I slip and bust my ass on one of their spots I'm suing the ballz off them...

Not sure why people in LB seem to think that shoveling needs not apply to them or they were so used to the city and the building doing it they are lost in reality.

If I shovel out a spot, and claim my spot with lawn furniture, chairs, a couch, etc. Then its my fucking spot.

But you can certainly move my furniture and park in that spot.

But don't be surprised with what might happen to your car.

Years back the mayor of Chicago agreed with that thought process.

Lawn furniture and couches on the streets of Chicago has been a winter tradition for 50 years.

And assholes getting their antennas snapped off, or having salt poured in their gas tanks has also been a Chicago tradition.

Not that I would ever condone such actions.
    Im just stating the facts.

    Chicago dibs

Go give it a look if you want a good laugh.
Its 10 minutes of someone driving up and down Chicago streets after a heavy snowfall.
The stuff people use to secure their shoveled parking spots is HYSTERICAL.

OMG. People would be shot if you did that here, HA!.  To think that the Mayor agreed to this nonsense shows the insane were running the asylum.

Is that still a thing there?

Dibs, lol. I did watch some videos.  One news anchor did a skit where he shoveled out spots in a parking lot.  That was funny.
