TEN CLUB TICKET DISTRIBUTION: 1:00pm (13.00)
TEN CLUB EARLY ENTRY: 3:15pm (15.15)
    PUBLIC DOORS: 3:30pm (15.30)

PEARL JAM SHOW TIME: 8:45pm (20.45)

thats pretty good. cause that leaves pearl jam to play 2.15 hours. they have to finish at 11 by law. so for all you train taking people : there is plenty of time! no extra infoon extra trains yet, but that will b available within 2-3 weeks
I change by not changing at all.

I say bring on the fine! :D

I hadn't thought about it earlier, but with 3 opening acts, pretty good chances of some Pearl Jam members making appearances earlier on stage!

Here's a pointless post from me, but just wanted to continue the hype by sharing some of the reasons why i'm so excited about Nijmegen!

    1. It's Pearl Jam.
    2. If the sun stays out then we have a lovely outdoor show where we could watch the sunset and see the moon come out. What could be more beautiful than witnessing a Pearl Jam show with the sun setting!
    3. There's three pretty groovy opening acts. 'Hard Life Easy' by Satellite Party is just IMMENSE. (you can now listen to the entire album on their mypace!)
    4. I have 10c tickets and it feels great to be surrounded by fanclubbers!
    5. It's frickin' Pearl Jam.
    6. I like Pearl Jam a lot, i do.

I so agree with the outdoor thingy! I love outdoor concerts where you can see the day turning into night, makes a beautiful atmosphere. You can't have that on an indoor venue! My best concert memories have been the moments when the sun goes down.
I don't understand reasons 1 and 5, who the hell are Pearl Jam? :p:p:p

    so , 35 days huh? yipee! :)
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...

It's great that everyone is just as excited. It'll really rub off on the band when they're onstage. To see everyone in the crowd with smiles on their faces will make them play so much better!

I don't even care what songs they play. I'm already getting to see them again when i never expected to so i'm a happy camper!

Ok, so maybe there's just ONE song i don't wanna hear. 2 hours of Foxymop might actually kill me. Not to mention it's pretty scary!

Greetz all (newcomer to message pit, despite having been fan since the beginning). I'm coming in from Enschede, and notice that the latest train back is 23:28. No way I'm leaving early (and there's a bit of a walk from goffertpark to the station from what I've heard)... so, my plan is to stick around until the first train in the morning, at 05:35... I guess my question is, to those of you who know Nijmegen, is that a completely ridiculous plan? I mean, will Nijmegen be unspeakably boring on a Friday morning (when do pubs close, e.g.) or is it likely that Pearl Jam fans will be singing and drinking in the streets all night long?

Nightlife is not all that vibrant in Nijmegen. Must pubs close at 2 and a few places stay open until 3 or 4. Try Billabong, ndrgrnd (read underground) or Merleyn.

Merleyn is cool. Is Dionysos still there? I've been there a couple of times because a friend of mine was a bartender over there...

I think you mean Diogenes. No, that place shut down a while ago.

Thanks a lot. According to their Websites, Billabong and ndrgrnd are indeed open until 4am on Thursdays. According to the Merleyn Website, they're arranging something called the "CAPISCE! UPSIDE DOWN PARTY!" <http://capiscedonderdag.nl/2007/05/23/do-28-juni-capisce-presents-upside-down-party/>... Looks like utter crap, but it says it will be open until 6am.

There has to a PJ afterparty in some pubs in Nijmegen. In Arnhem last year they also had afterparties.

Just curious, is anybody plannning to camp in Nijmegen?
We´re going to stay on one of the campsites around Nijmegen (maybe Groesbeek) - Wednesday till Sunday.

So, the ones who are also not going to Werchter: On Saturday we´re planning to visit the National Park "De Hoge Veluwe" near Arnhem - it´s a great place with free bikes, great bikepaths and wonderful scenery. Join us if you´re interested. :D

Nope, we drive to Nijmegen and the same evening we are driving home again...

I've been on the Veluwe many times. It's beautifull over there. Also national park "De hoge Veluwe" is great... I loved cycling in that park.

  • so just to get a rough idea, how many people on here plan to be partying all night in nijmegen? i'm thinking about booking a hostel in arnhem but seems like such a waste when i could be happily sleeping on a train to amsterdam on friday morning!

My God this thread is large!

I'm from The Hague and I'm also planning on just going to a hotel or something. I'm not gonna leave that concert early just to catch the last train.

What about night trains though? Anyone knows about them going?

Anyway, its one month from now, I can't wait. Last time I took 2 buddies with me to the concert in Arnhem but this time I'm going alone because its simply not that cool when u bring people who arent that much into the band.
