No experience with taxis in that area, but it should be easy to catch the last train at 00:14. If you figure Pearl Jam starts around 20:45 and their show lasts 2 hours 20 minutes, that means it will end between 23:00 and 23:15 or so. That leaves plenty of time to walk.
I've heard there will be buses running from the concert to the Nijmegen station too. And there's an easy and cheap connection to Elst once you get to the Nijmegen station.

Anyone have any idea what time the show will start and what time the gates will open? I know the 10C will e-mail details when we get closer, but I am curious.
Also, I'll be staying in Nijmegen the night before and the night of the show. Does anyone have any ideas of what should be seen tourist-wise in the area. It's my first time in europe and only my third and fourth nights in europe (first 2 in Amsterdam).

It wouldn't surprise me that the shows start at 5pm.

Dunno if it's much help, I've been there twice. The center has a nice square with restaurants, bars and when I was there a market, it's quite central and a good place to start. It was summer when I was there and we had a sort of picknick on the riverbed of the Waal (river) which was a 10 or so minute walk thru the old center. There's a lot of small streets and every bar closed at 2am
It's a shame, I'm from Holland but I can't remember being there once in my life...so I took a look at your links too Obi Once, thanks. Looks like a very nice city
(...) Hmm, got a question...as a woman...what do I do when I have been sitting in line for hours and have to go to the toilet? AND what do I do if I have been standing in the front row all night, PJ starts playing and I really need to go...??
Anyone got tips ...haha...but I mean it!:)
Maybe some of my sons diapers will fit you.... You can try...
I have a crew of 6 People coming over from the States for Copenhagen and Nijmegen. My wife and four of our friends, and we can't wait!! Thanks for all of the helpful information on the Trains and Planes. We'll be in staying in Amsterdam, at an awesome little hotel called The Winston. We'd love to meet up with some folks. Familiar with the area, but not with Nijmegen really. Let me know if there are any folks gathering in Adam on the 27th. Or Nijmegen on the 28th. Cheers!
Is Arnhem far away from Nijmegen? I've heard they were a youth Hostel close to
Arnhem Do you think after the show, they will be any public transport to get you from Nijmegen to Arnhem?
Thanks for helping me out...
By the way i'm open to any great ideas concerning accomodation

15 to 20 minutes by train.
There definitely will be trains after the concert, when you leave the park inmediately after the concert...
Ok so we're booked at Hotel Catharina. I went on viamichelin.com to check the distance from there to the Park, and it says it is 4.5km away and 10 minutes driving distance.
Now, the obsessive part of my personality keeps checking and double-checking and triple-checking to make sure i've done everything right for this little PJ tour, so if any kind soul wants to double-check to make sure i've got the right directions and distance, i'd greatly appreciate it!
Also, has anyone stayed at Hotel Catharina? It looks nice and dainty! And it was cheap too!

The show starts at 17:00 and there are tree openers!!!! I don't think that pearl jam will start at 20:45.
Beavis : Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
Butt-head: Well, they both suck.
ahhh yeah that works, looks the same as the map i got from viamichelin thankfully!
thanks for indulging my obsessiveness!
Well it's the excitement I think! You don't want it to go wrong, anyway I don't..Have to prepare us for 5 concerts, it's exciting but lot's of check and dubbelcheck, flights, hotels, timetable, tickets, different countries and languages!!

Exactly! There's a lot to think about for sure. My friends and I got tickets and then booked everything pretty much straight away. Compared to last year's tour we're much more organised, but haven't had any problems. So things seem to be running a bit TOO smooth and it makes me nervous.

Do u think it's a good idea booking up a youh Hostel in Arhneim? Is it close enough to Nijmegen?
I've lived in Arnhem for 7 years. It's really close to Nijmegen (max. 20 minutes by train). You'll have to travel between Arnhem Central Station (CS) and Nijmegen Central Station (CS).

You've got a lot of experience I see. And enjoy de smoothness!
You've got a lot of experience I see. And enjoy de smoothness!
It's so weird, at the beginning of last year i had ZERO experience and now i have 6 shows under my belt with another on the way. I'm not trying to brag but it's all happened so quickly and yet i still feel like it's the first time i'm seeing them live.
I wish i could enjoy the smoothness. As with last year, the panic won't stop until i'm at the 10c window and my name is crossed off the list and tickets handed to me. Watching them check that list may just be the worst part of it!

What can go wrong? Well, lot's of things yeah but I push that thought away, because it's just fun. Forget about other stuff. And getting your ticket is "peanuts" compared to what's coming next!! Hoping for a good spot, the waiting, getting through the opener(s) and then the big moment. Being in heaven for a couple of hours.
I remember Arnhem last year, it took me half a song to realise I was really there!
Yes it's addictive. And every concert is special. I couldn't let go of the special feeling last year, but never suspected I could do it all over again this year, better.

they work well on my son, dry for a whole afternoon
